LOTUS IN CONCERT:
Lotus is the kind of band that thrives during live performance â they put on electrifying, highly creative shows that are, in the very apt words of ticket buyers, âeuphoricâ and âenergizingâ. The group's unique combination of roots rock and electronic beats makes for a diverse sound, and it's no surprise that their influences range from jam band greats The Grateful Dead to electronic pioneers Kraftwerk. Their self-described "jamtronica" tracks are full of funky beats, energizing rhythms, and screaming guitars that get even the most closeted dancers on their feet. Especially dazzling are their complex lighting arrangements, which create a truly unique stage atmosphere. The band keeps their shows thrillingly unpredictable with constantly varying setlists and frequent improvisation, but one thing they always deliver is a truly transcendent concert experience.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Electronic jam band Lotus formed in Indiana in 1999 while all five members were attending Goshen College. After playing local stages they made their recording debut in 2002 with the album Vibes, a compilation of live performances from the year before. A deal with Harmonized Records followed, and the band released three albums over the next three years, including 2004's Jammy-nominated Nomad. In 2006 they signed to SCI Fidelity Records and released the live double album Escaping Sargasso Sea, which was nominated for a Jammy award for Best Live Album of 2007. Over the next few years they continued to release albums at a steady rate and toured extensively in North America and Japan, typically playing around 100 shows a year. They've built much of their fanbase by word of mouth, encouraging concertgoers to record and share footage from their live shows. They've also become festival favorites, performing on stages at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Camp Bisco, Wakarusa, Rothbury, and more. In 2014 they released their eighth studio album Gilded Age, a stellar record comprised of six new rock tracks and four electronic remixes.
The crew showed up times a million to celebrate chuck and Charlie. It was the celebration of life that sparked such intense energy of love, healing and joy. Words cannot describe. Thank you.
I attended the benefit shows for Chuck & Charley Morris on 4/21 & 4/22. Security and staff throughout the venue were friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The shows themselves were incredible and full of beauty amongst so much sadness. Thank you for helping to make them happen
The memorial concert for Chuck and Charley was a beautiful send off to 2 beautiful people. Thank you Lotus for giving us a space to grieve, celebrate and remember what life is all about.
Brought my 15 year old nephew to Lotus had a blast at his first show! Great great venue, amazing show!
I saw lotus on Feb 10th in Chicago and it wqs incredible but then I saw them again in madison at the Majestic on Feb 14th and everyone was feeling the energy! They played 2 absolutely incredible sets and I even got to meet the band and have them autograph their new album Bloom & Receed which is insane if you havent checked it out yet! Truely an incredible night and Lotus is on đĽ right now! Cant wait to see them again this spring. Ill never miss a lotus show within 200 miles of me!
They absolutely killed it, probably top 5 concerts Iâve been to. There was an intermission around an hour and half in, and then another hour of playing after.
Lotus at XL LIVE, good staff, 6bucks for a bud light, indoor/outdoor venue is cool

I went to the show at a recommendation of a friend. I was not disappointed. Lotus was nonstop funky jams the whole time. Loved them.
Great show apart from the fire alarms going off every hour. Otherwise lotus put on a show for the record books

The venue is intimate at Stage AE. Not a bad view in the house. The band plays continuously through their set- very impressive. Shoet intermission and then back again! Loved the NYE countdown and love the peaceful crowd Lotus draws. No words to sing and remember- just jam and dance!

Lotus definitely didn't hold anything back for the tour closer. They brought incredible energy and ran with it. It was a great show all around.
Lotus blows my mind every time!! Their sound is amazing and their light show astounds! Express Live is not one of my favorite venues, but I've been to worse.

I've never really listened to lotus jam bands aren't really my thing. I had no NYE plans and a bunch of friends were going so I went with low to no expectations but those bros came out and killed it! Live music is almost always way better than recorded and a lotus show is no exception.
