  • Los Lobos & X in Reno Silver Legacy

    Both Bands were GREAT - Lots of energy and quality performances. Loved the Los Lobos songs in Spanish and the more acoustic songs and the accordion. Hidalgo and the boys STILL have it. But Unforunatly they only play about an hour. Was just getting into it and the set was over. John Doe and X also great !! 60 & 70 year old Punk Rockers in the aud BUT - The Sound System at the Legacy is mediocre at best and the Security at the stage front WAY OVERBEARING. Overall good experience

    Had a great time other than the two obnoxious people behind us talking through the whole concert. Great venue.

  • Band was good. But the sound system was awful

    We couldn’t believe how bad the sound was. Vocals seemed ok. Drums ok. The bass guitar was a horrible distorted muddy mess of sound. Both guitars were lost into an overdriven drone of noise. It really wasn’t the band’s fault. They were playing it great. Way too loud and indistinguishable noise. Los Lobos FIRE THAT SOUND MAN! We moved seats twice further back. Had to leave before an hour. There was a dozen plus right behind us.

    Los Lobos never disappoints! However I think they may have been disappointed in the crowd. Tough room when it's half casino patrons with a comp ticket. Music loud and tight! Drumming OUTstanding! Always a pleasure to see these guys. I'll probably choose a different venue next time...

  • Acoustics were lacking

    Love Los Lobos and would love to give them a 5-star review, but I can't - because the acoustics at Bally's Twin River were pretty poor. The event space is a ballroom, so it was outfitted with chairs arranged in rows on the carpet. I was in the front row - figured it to be a great spot. But the mic for David Hidalgo's vocals was way too low - could barely hear him except during those parts where the instruments were all quiet or stopped. Otherwise, it was a great show - these guys still got it.

    I have been wanting to see Los Lobos for some time now. Last weekend they played at an outdoor blues festival near my home. On a cold and windy night they played their hearts out. This band is one of the tightest bands you will ever see. It was a great show. I look forward to seeing them again.

    The Edmonton Oilers and indeed the whole city have adopted La Bamba as their anthem. So when Los Lobos comes to play, you know you are in for a treat. There is not a better band touring today. Their music is straight ahead classic rock n roll with some Mexican gems thrown into the mix. They have been playing together for over 50 years so if you get a chance to seem them just go!

    Hard rock was small but cozy and safe. Food and liquor were expensive but well worth the fun seeing these great bands.
