About

Lorde is a Grammy-winning artist and cultural force, known for her genre-defying sound, introspective lyricism, and striking creative vision. Since her breakthrough with Pure Heroine in 2013, she has redefined the contours of modern pop--merging poetic storytelling with minimalist, emotionally resonant production. To date, she has amassed over 18 billion global streams and 18 million album sales worldwide.

In April 2025, she returned with What Was That, her first original release in four years. The single debuted to widespread acclaim and commercial success, hitting #1 on Spotify in the US -- her first US #1 on the platform since "Royals." It also landed at #3 in the UK and #5 globally, reaffirming her place at the forefront of pop music.

  • Deserving of her stage name

    by Jaymon76 on 3/26/14The Fillmore - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Lorde truly impressed me. If you're a fan of her music, if you really REALLY feel her, and dont just bounce your head along because she is whats currently popular, then you will be utterly blown away by this show. From the moment she set foot on the stage untill the moment the lights came up, she owned it. The statement that less is more has never been more apropos than it is here. Her stage was simple, her dress was simple. The lighting was perfect, PERFECT for her music. Everything hit. The bass was astounding, each simple note from the keyboards held me, and Lorde sounded exceptional live. Im not certain Ive ever seen an artist that appeared so genuinely in love with her art. I didn't expect the phenomenal amount of energy she put off. I was bouncing a LOT more than I expected. Truly exceptional.

Fabulous performance & voice!!! Had a great time!!!

  • Lorde was solid

by Krimpet on 3/25/14Fillmore Auditorium (Denver) - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

She came on stage a little after 9 and did an amazing performance of 14 songs. Has a lot of talent for such a young gal. Hope she continues to grow and doesn't pigeon hole herself in a dark persona.

  • Great show!

by Anonymous on 3/24/14Peabody Opera House - St. LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Lorde's performance was fantastic! Her vocals were spot on. Her dancing was weirdly wonderful. The songs sounded just like her album, which is a plus. :) My 13-year-old daughter and I made a mini vaca around this show. We traveled 4.5 hrs to St. Louis for the show. It was a terrific bonding experience. Be aware that the ushers at this venue do not keep other concert goers from butting into your space! We had to complain to get people out of our view of the stage which was super aggravating since we paid for those seats! Others around us complained for the same reason. It was on ongoing ordeal.

Lorde is fantastic. Her voice was flawless for the whole show. My friend had only heard a few of her songs before the show and now he's hooked.

  • She was fantastic.

by jthelundy on 3/23/14Peabody Opera House - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't expecting anything less than an amazing performance and she delivered. Her taste in lighting is incredible. All the lights were so intricate and perfectly placed while still being rhythmic and pleasing to the eye. I've never seen lights so complicated at a concert. Her stage presence is strange for sure, but it's infectious. Her thrashing around on stage makes you want to dance. Also, she sounded great.

  • Oh Lorde...

by Anonymous on 3/23/14Peabody Opera House - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Missed the opener, but heard he was pretty good. As for Lorde - wow, what an incredible performance! She came out all by herself singing Glory and Gore before the rest of her band joined her...and from then on it just got better and better! Very simple setup, nothing but a chandelier, the band, and some lights. But that was all they needed to give a wonderful show! Can't wait til she's back in the STL!!

  • Lorde did not disappoint her large teenager base

by 3Nine on 3/23/14Peabody Opera House - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Lorde put on a great show. She has a great voice live. The lighting show she had was the best I've seen in years. She was interactive with the crowd and told a long story about Ribs. All of the background voices are prerecorded. She needs a full band with background live singers. She can afford this now. And she need an encore. The merch table was awful. The only items they had were long sleeved shirts. They need to expand what they sell.

  • Awesome show!!!

by GreyST on 3/23/14Peabody Opera House - St. LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Lorde definitely put on an amazing show!!! I love her music even more after seeing her live!! Her unique style of music is ingenious!! It's refreshing to see an artist that's real and true to herself. While her music reaches out to teens her age, her lyrics are wise beyond her years. The audience was filled with a mix of all ages, and everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves. I highly recommend going!!! I will definitely be looking for tickets on her next tour!!!

  • Amazing

by samantha1156 on 3/23/14Peabody Opera House - St. LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Definitely a show worth seeing. The opening act, Lo-Fang, has an amazing talent, he plays guitar, violin, cello, and stand up bass, his voice is hypnotic And his falsetto will make you melt. Lorde definitely came to impress. Even though the venue was at the opera house, she worked the small stage and intimate setting to her advantage. The lights, the screens, the smoke and the music all meshed well. Lorde was phenomenal. You won't be disappointed if you have tickets to this show!

It was evident that this is Lorde's first big tour. I'm sure she will develop her stage presence over time. It seemed like she spent too much time singing bent over with her hair over her face. Sometime I actually thought I was watching Cousin It from the Addams Family. Lorde had trouble connecting with the audience but she had such a strong fan base the audience still cheered her with much excitement. At least she had rehearsed saying "Thank You St. Louis". I was also not a big fan of the blinding strobe lighting aimed straight at the audience, but that might be a sign of my age.

  • Lorde is 17?!

by rjizzle on 3/21/14Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

She was awesome. Everything I was hoping she'd be and more.

  • Sounded better than the album

by iliveforlivemusic on 3/20/14Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing show. Lorde put on a performance that literally stunned. She should've recorded her album at this show because she sounded better live than she does in recordings. Truly spectacular.

  • Excellent!

    by Lau517 on 3/18/14The Orpheum Theater - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Lorde is both wise beyond her 17 years yet still a "kid". The best new ARTIST (meant in the TRUE sense of the word, not like those who sing songs written by others!) who is truly interesting, honest and raw. She's different and REAL... two qualities I both love and respect. I cannot wait for her to return to Boston. I'll be there for sure!

  • by Anonymous on 3/18/14Orpheum Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

She was unreal. The one problem was that in the back of the venue, the music/acoustics were not as loud as they could have been/as loud as I would think they would have been in the front rows.

  • Lorde is an exceptional performer!

by VINTESIN on 3/17/14Orpheum Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Exactly what I expected. Beautiful all around. Priceless memories.

  • Lorde is the greatest

We had a fantastic time at this show. Lorde was excellent as expected and I will absolutely see her again when she comes around.

  • Amazing

She was super amazing! when she came out it was just awesome! her voice, the sound, the screens on the back during buzzcut season, royals, 400 lux were just pure amazement. I would love love to see her again in concert no doubt. :) and when she told the stories of Ribs-love it

  • Lorde Is Not Your Average Pop Star, She's Unique!

by Anonymous on 3/15/14Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a fan of Lorde for a while now and I've been waiting to see her for months. She performed at a few months ago at Webster Hall, but the tickets had sold out. Then when she announced her first US tour, I knew I couldn't miss her this time. I even cried when I brought my ticket. Every show at the Roseland sold out and I was so happy to finally be able to see Lorde live. I knew I wanted to be close up as possible, so I left early. I had a long wait, but it was so worth it! I ended up being in the second row center. I couldn't believe it! I could literally touch Lorde. It was amazing being so close to the stage. When Lorde came out it felt really surreal. She was in the flesh and when she started to sing, I was mesmerized! Lorde put on a fantastic show. She didn't need all the extra things that most performers have at their concert. Less is more. It was just her and her drummer along with the keyboard player. The lighting effects where awesome. I felt like I was at a club and not a show. I loved how Lorde changed the arrangements for some of her songs as well as adding extra songs that I never heard of. The confetti at the end was a nice touch. She truly appreciated all the love from the crowd and thanked us for selling out all 3 of her shows at the Roseland. Lorde is not your average pop star. I wouldn't even call her a pop star because she's so much more than that. Her singing was top notch...she sounded even better in person than on her record! (Even though she had a cold, you would never know it.) I almost forgot that she is just 17 years old because she has this maturity about her. She had the audience at the palm of her hand. I'm glad I got to see Lorde in such a intimate setting and had such a great experience. Lorde will be around for years to come, selling out arenas. Where ever her career will take her, I will be there to follow her journey. I'm happy to have been at the Roseland and seeing Lorde there brings closure for me now that the legendary Ballroom will be closed down for good. I'll always hold on to those memories. :)

  • Such a stunning performance

by Thealemaus on 3/15/14Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was perfect. From the venue. To the opening artist to every song that Lorde sang. It was unforgettable. Lorde has a wonderful voice and can song really well. If I could I would go see her again. Just to experience such an amazing show.
