About

Lorde is a Grammy-winning artist and cultural force, known for her genre-defying sound, introspective lyricism, and striking creative vision. Since her breakthrough with Pure Heroine in 2013, she has redefined the contours of modern pop--merging poetic storytelling with minimalist, emotionally resonant production. To date, she has amassed over 18 billion global streams and 18 million album sales worldwide.

In April 2025, she returned with What Was That, her first original release in four years. The single debuted to widespread acclaim and commercial success, hitting #1 on Spotify in the US -- her first US #1 on the platform since "Royals." It also landed at #3 in the UK and #5 globally, reaffirming her place at the forefront of pop music.

  • Best thing to come of the Twilight era

by Firepete on 3/14/14Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Great sound production. Great setlist- one song after another- catchy sing alongs with great beats. This girl can write. And whoever produced that sound behind her is genius. Highly recommend seeing Lorde live. It's a shame Roseland is closing cuz that VIP side stage was worth every penny! Great elevated, uncrowded, unobstructed view, literally to right if stage. The ga floor was packed like a sardine can. And I was extremely happy I wasn't a part of that.

  • Lorde at Roseland ballroom incredible show

by JimiRocks on 3/14/14Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

You had to be there definitely one of the best shows of the year I've been to over 350 concerts so far this one in the top 20 She sang only 14 songs but she has only one album and no encore the ballroom was packed must of been more than allowed

  • Lorde was fantastic!

by Lexeva on 3/14/14Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Even with a cold, Lorde gave a great, emotional and haunting (in a good way) performance.

  • Incredible

  • Amazing Show at Roseland

by Momtoteens on 3/13/14Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Lorde put on an amazing show Monday night at Roseland. Her energy and interaction with the crowd was so much stronger than last Fall. She has definitely worked on her stage presence and reworked the live versions of her songs to great effect! Awesome Awesome show!

  • Lorde at the Tower in Upper Darby, PA

by BarbaraConcannon on 3/11/14Tower Theatre - Upper DarbyRating: 5 out of 5

Lorde put on a great performance. I enjoyed the show especially at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA!

  • Lordy Lorde I was not bored at the Tower

by michaelo on 3/11/14Tower Theatre - Upper DarbyRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't know just how much I would like this show. The screaming girls were ear piercing. The length of the show was short. That said, I loved this show. She seemed much nicer than expected from interviews and she seemed to put her all into the performance. The lighting was beautiful and the chandelier was a nice touch. I was surprised to see some young hippie chicks in the crowd.

  • Lorde was brilliant

    by neshy84 on 3/10/14South Side Ballroom - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Some singers come out and perform and they lipsync, Lorde performed so well live, it sounded just like the studio version! She put on a great show and really loves her fans. She even took selfies with some fans outside her tour bus after the show. She was awesome!

  • Lorde is only going to get bigger and better!

    by Cait683 on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Lorde sounds even better live and gives off such energy that the crowd feels every beat, every lyric. She is just crazy talented and I felt I was in each song she performed. Great great show!

  • To see Lorde live is money well spent!

by lufogs on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Echostage is a great venue and Lorde sounded incredible all night! When I say that she was a girl possessed, it’s not in the hater-y way of most Lorde-reporting bloggers. It was perfect. She knows what she brings to the table—evocative voice, poignant stories, teen ‘tude and poise—and does so with a self-possession that many adult performers would be right to envy. We just had an absolute ball. No ‘bows were thrown, we danced our little butts off, and the vibe in the room was never less than a high pulsing positivity that made all of us feel the breathless anticipation of someone taking that final step over the threshold into an incredibly exciting life. Nicely done, little one. I can’t wait to see where your career will take you. Read more here!: http://applesandazaleas.com/2014/03/08/we-ride-the-bus-with-our-knees-pulled-in-lorde-in-dc/

She is nothing short of amazing. Such a great show and performer!

  • Praise Lorde

    by Unimatrix1968 on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Echostage was like sardines in a can. Lorde was warm, personable, lovable, and mature way beyond her years. You have to love the way she 'dances' with all that hair. Will go see her again but not at a general admission venue. Would give 5 stars but the Echostage parking sucked way to bad to make it a perfect show.

  • Not Great

by DanSMegB on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

So, Lorde's album is awesome. And I get that she is young and new to the scene.... but I would not see her again live. The show was seriously underwhelming. There was an opening act... but we couldn't understand a word they were saying and never even got their name. Lorde explained the background of one of her songs... but also could not understand a word she was saying.

Good concert but not friendly staff and very crowded. Could barely see her perform on the stage.

  • Lorde was great in an intimate setting

by afterp on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great venue to see Lorde. The crowd was into it and she was engaged and obviously moved by the crowd reaction. My 13-year old loved the show, as did the mostly mid-20s audience, and we old folks enjoyed it too.

  • Great venue; great performance

by MSUTaylor on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

It was the first time we had gone to echostage and we loved the open pit setup. It made the show very intimate and the wrap around bars made getting drinks easy too. Lo Fang, the opening act, was really good even though they didn't play for very long. Lorde was AWESOME. They sounded great and brought a great show. We had a blast!

  • Lorde Rocked!

    by vcornet1 on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Lorde was a great live performer. Her live voice sounds exactly like it does on her album.

  • Lorde sounded great, but the venue was awful

by dkarnes on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

Echostage is a bit of a misnomer, it should be called Echofloor. The stage is so low that most of the audience couldn't see anyone on it. My wife is 5'3" and in 3 inch heels she still couldn't see anything but the chandelier. Two songs had Lorde on screen, so she was able to see part of a projection of Lorde for part of those songs. I'm 6'6", so I could see fine. The teenage girls beside me jumped up and down trying to see (unsuccessfully) the entire show, except when they climbed on each other's back (unsuccessfully) to see. The sound and light show was great.

  • Loved Lorde, hated Echostage.

    by galileo5 on 3/10/14Echostage - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Her performance was brilliant, but I couldn't see her on stage. I was only fifty feet away from her, too, but with people taller than I am in front of me and holding up their phones, it was difficult to enjoy.
