What an enjoyable evening!! The music was great. The singers were very entertaining.
What a special treat! The music was great and the Broadway singers were highly talented and personable. I would return next year and highly recommend this event.
The Long Island Philharmonic is a very professional organization that makes wonderful music. The four singers that accompanied the orchestra had beautiful voices and added to the superb musical experience. The songs selected also contributed to an enjoyable evening of Broadway melodies. In fact my 4 star rating would have been 5 if the performance were longer. Hopefully next year an additional 10 minutes will be added to the first and second half of the performance.
Great way to spend New Year's Eve. Music from Broadway show classics.
Great song selection. However, once again the sound system at Tilles was not on par with the performance. The wireless microphones went out on a couple of key notes - it was annoying.
Beautiful music, great singers, wonderful musicians! Just too short!
Fabulous performance! An entertaining evening. Recommend you arrive early as parking was backed up onto the road.
Inconsistent performances by Broadway stars...."All That Jazz" was very off. Sound level was disappointing...we were in the way back though.
Orchestra was in top shape, as were the four vocalists that were performing for this evening's affair. Four of us make it a habit to attend this gala every year and I would have to say this year was one of the best - and all the years in the past have been excellent. Always look forward to this event by great musicians in a great hall.
Superb, but more than one encore would have been nice.
Excellent variety of Broadway hits. The 2 hours flew by...and the champagne reception was the perfect touch. Everyone very professional. Will recommend and return next year.
An excellent performance...excellent musicians...excellent singers...and parking was free!
Loved the concert, as we always do. A pleasure to have such a musically proficient orchestra here on Long Island. Hats off to Dr. Wiley! Personally would have liked to hear more orchestral music. Vocalists were very good, with the exception of the baritone whose voice seemed to trouble him in the second half, and he was flat quite a bit. All in all, a fun night and musically rewarding. Doug
The philharmonic was great, the singers were great. The audience was horrendous. But the show was great!
Show is always great but I felt that Andy Hammerstein broke up the flow of the show. There was less Music and more Talk. I have preferred the other years previous to this. I would also like to see a change to Broadway shows which have been the last few years. Maybe a tribute to the Beatles or Harry Chapin again would be nice.
It was a great way to spend new years eve celebration. There was plenty of of parking and the seats were great. Excellent view of orchestra and the performers were broadway quality at a less than broadway price. I took my mom and she loved it. They even did an new years sing along at the end of the performance. You were home before the Times Square Ball fell.
My wife and I are huge fans of classical music and Broadway (especially Rodgers and Hammerstein). The Long Island Philharmonic was fabulous and the singers were decent. The show was ruined for us when Oscar Hammerstein III talked and talked and talked some more. I assume the objective was to provide a historical perspective on the composers but the percentage of the show that Mr. Hammerstein spoke was beyond excessive!!! Hammerstein was listed in the playbill as one of "the artists". The video graphics being projected on the screens were a joke. My 10 year old can do better power point presentations. Of note, the average age of the audience was about 75 yrs old.
Was not as good as years past for New Years Eve. The music was very dated and more for the 70-80 crowd which i do not belong to. Also the singers were OK but not the ones I would have chosen. All in all, next year I will find out from what era the music is from before spending the money!
I went to hear the LI Philharmonic orchestra. There was much to much singing of the music.
it was a excellant show in one word wonderful recomend it
