Great Show!
by BarnumAndBailey on 4/20/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5Bought a cheap ticket to this weeknight show (Thursday night). I figured it wouldn't be packed and it wasn't. Plenty of room and I was standing GA. It couldn't have sold more then 500 seats (from what I could tell), therefore, the stage was easily accessible. I probably could have moved right to the front of the stage if I wanted to. As far as the show, it was AMAZING. Even though there wasn't a lot of people, the band did not hold back! To see Vernon Reid (guitar virtuoso) blaze through guitar solo after guitar solo on my favorite tracks was well worth the price of admission! Corey Glover sounded just like he did on the album. The band performed Vivid for their 25th anniversary tour and they did not disappoint. To hear the album cover to cover brought me back to my childhood. Would I have spent $40/$50 bucks to see this show? Probably not, but I probably would have seen them for well over what I paid. If I had the opportunity to see them again at that price, without a doubt, I'd be there and I'd recommend you see them too!!
Highlights obviously include Cult of Personality, a sweet cover of Amazing Grace -> Open Letter (to a Landlord), Glamour Boys, and of course, Vernon Reid and Corey Glover!!
There wasn't an encore, but that's OK, because they'd played everything they needed to!
