Two-time Grammy award winning comedian/actor/writer Lewis Black uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and finger pointing to expose the absurdities of life. His comedic brilliance makes people laugh at life's hypocrisies and the insanity he sees in the world. He has performed throughout the world and the US, where he performed at Carnegie Hall and had two successful Broadway runs.
His latest stand-up special, Tragically, I Need You, released earlier this year and has already surpassed 1.3 million views on YouTube. The brand-new special explores topics including his ways of coping with the pandemic, his frustrations with the evolving world, and of course his thoughts about the chaos of America these last few years.
Adding a unique element to podcasting, Black delivers audience-written Rants which have been submitted from fans around the world on his podcast, Rant Cast.
Black is the longest-running contributor on Comedy Central's THE DAILY SHOW and his stand-up specials have appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime, and Epix.
In 2020, he released Thanks for Risking Your Life. In 2015, Black notably voiced the character "Anger" in the Pixar Academy Award-winning film, Inside Out. His other notable films include Universal's Accepted co-starring Jonah Hill, Blake Lively and Justin Long, and also Man Of The Year opposite Robin Williams, Christopher Walken, Laura Linney, and Jeff Goldblum.
The comedian has released eight critically acclaimed comedy albums including the 2007 Grammy Award-Winner, The Carnegie Hall Performance. He won his second Grammy in 2011 for his album, Stark Raving Black, and has a total of 6 Grammys nominations. He has published three bestsellers: Nothing's Sacred (Simon & Schuster, 2005), Me of Little Faith (Riverhead Books, 2008) and I'm Dreaming of a Black Christmas (Riverhead Books, 2010).
A published playwright, he's written over 40 plays and has found his work performed throughout the country, including at the A.C.T. Theatre, the Magic Theatre, The Williamstown Theatre Festival, and The Public Theatre.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Lewis is dedicated to a number of charitable organizations including the Luv U Project, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and The 52nd Street Project.
He's also deeply committed to supporting our troops. A seasoned USO tour veteran, he's performed for the troops on three Christmas tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lewis Black is one of the best comedians of all time!
it was very good. i was very entertained. its lewis black what you see is what you get, hes a funny guy.
Lewis Black never fails to remain current. The show was around 2 hours long including a 20 minute warm up comedian act. I've seen Lewis Black perform in the past and he is just as on top of his game at 60 as he was in prior shows. He never disappoints.
Lewis Black is a comedic genius! His timing and wit are perfection! I am sore today from laughing so hard. Everything he says is true and I can't wait for him to return to the area. He doesn't need an opening act...especially the one he had. What would really be perfection is if Lewis could open his own show!
Lewis Black tells it like it is, in his unique manner, exactly what most people in this country feel about politics, getting old, the USA, the GREED in the world and so on...I could listen to him all day & night...simply an amazing performer with a keen intellect and PASSION!!!
We were constantly laughing and pondering Lewis Black's assessment of our country's economic/ political/ social situation. He kept us laughing at the often unlaughable condition of American government- from Bill Clinton's oval office faux pas, to George Bush's inability to make any lasting decision. We can all relate to his disgruntled perspective on life, aging, parents, friends, and many other topics that confront us all daily. We had a great time, and so did our teenage kids! We have all been following him on HBO for years, and it was a lot of fun to see him live.
Opening act was funny, and Lewis was great. I liked the time the both comedians spent on stage. Two complaints - The first comedian would have EXTREMELY loud spots when he got close to the mic, and the second was that there should be a cut off time as to when you can enter the show. People entering late is a disturbance to the rest of the people that show up on time. There were people entering the show at 9:30pm.
I've seen Lewis Black on TV and allways thought he was really good ,but live he really kicked ass
lewis black was as funny and sweary as ever though its not as long as the hbo specials
I have been to a few Lewis Black shows and I have to say this was the best. He is always funny but I felt he was funnier than ever. He performed for over an hour with all new material. His opening act has opened for him before and he was great. Very funny. I believe the last time we saw him he was in the Wolfs Den;small and cozy. This time he was in the arena, a packed arena. He has exploded. I would definitly see him again.
Black was awesome, his opening act not so great. The opening act had several laughable lines but the "F" bomb with every opening line was just not doing it. It seemed he was trying to mimic Black with some of his lines and it wasn't happening for him. I will say the Colin Powell lines were great, and his info lines. Just take out the "F" bomb with majority of his script and he'd be good.
Generally good stuff but you can see he misses George Bush, in spite of what Mr. Black says.
Lewis Black gave a great show- as expected. He was witty, intelligent and insightful, self-depricating as usual, and actually mellowed out a bit from a few years ago. He kept the audience enganged and left everyone wanting to hangout and laugh with him more.
Lewis like always was funny as hell. WILL go see again when in the Chicagoland or NW Indiana area.
He appeared exhausted and a loss for words many times. Not funny at all and not worth the bother. What happened to Lewis?
Without a doubt the funniest man on the planet. This was a b-day gift for my wife and she could not have had a better night out.
We didn't stop laughing through the whole show. I would do that again.
He was so funny!! We laughed till we cried,,,,I would go see him again in a heart beat!!! Good for you health and soul...especially if you are older...because you can really relate to what he is talking about...
I had a great time at the Lewis Black show. His opening act was real good and Lewis himself was worth the price of the tickets. The service at the venue was also outstanding as we had an usher greet us and walk us directly to our seats. I would highly recommend Lewis Black's show and would enjoy seeing him again!!
Lewis Black is hilarious! I absolutely love his stand up! I first got hooked on him from his "Daily Show" segment "Back in Black." He definitely lived up to (and exceeded) my expectations. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good laugh.
