About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

  • Enjoyed it but left with mixed feelings

    by Jeff H on 9/17/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 3 out of 5

As long time fans of Les Mis, my partner and I enjoyed the show. The actor who played Javert was a particular standout. The lighting was spectacularly well done—some of the scenes reminded us of paintings from the old masters. However, both the poor acoustics and the uncomfortable seating were bummers. For the ticket price, I was expecting more in the seating and sound departments.

  • A wonderful show ruined because of the venue

by Gigi on 9/17/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 1 out of 5

We were so excited to see this incredible musical at Centennial Hall in Tucson. We LOVED the movie and knew we were in for something spectacular because this was a Broadway show. Imagine our shock and disappointment when, from the very beginning, we could not understand hardly a single word!! The music, the sets, the costumes were fabulous...but the acoustics in the building are just TERRIBLE. Only once in a while, maybe when the orchestra wasn't too loud, we could make out a few lines of songs. We were so frustrated and angry that we left at intermission. We have experienced similar issues at other shows in this venue, but nothing like this, and I doubt we will ever go back. How disappointing for all in attendance, but how very sad for the incredibly gifted cast and crew who worked so hard on this production. I have since read many reviews stating the exact same thing about the sound at Centennial Hall. Ticketmaster needs to find a new venue in Tucson for these shows.

  • Exciting priduction

Les Mis is a wonderful experience and production. So glad we went. Centennial Hall has great acoustics and not a bad seat in the house!

  • Les Miserable

    by Got5kids on 9/17/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

My all time favorite. Music and the artist were perfect. My only complaint would be the restroom situation at Centennial Hall in Tucson. Lines were horrendous during intermission.

  • Tech issues

by Jackie on 9/17/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 3 out of 5

We have wanted to see this show for years and we were honestly disappointed. The act by and singing was good but the stage was too dark the entire show. The microphones at times seem to fade in and out and they didn’t have enough volunteers seating people. We had people sitting in the wrong seats and those that should have been seated there were in the floor next to us waiting for it to get sorted on their own.

  • Not as good as it could be

by Joey place on 9/17/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 4 out of 5

This was the second time in a row that the lead performers did not perform. First with a Beautiful Noise and now with Les Miz. This is becoming a trend even on Broadway they take days off , what happen to the show must go on.

  • Wonderful Performance

by Amber loves Les Mis on 9/17/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful performance, great cast, incredible staging--especially for a small stage like Centennial Hall. This production was a little different from original,, mostly in the ending; however it fit seamlessly within the program. Yes it was worth it to get $150 ticket for close center seat!

  • Poor acoustics!

by Lori on 9/17/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 3 out of 5

Poor acoustics! The orchestra was louder than the singers. Stage was way too dark. Some tech problem stopped the performance for several minutes. Overall not worth the price of the tickets. The show was much better a few years ago at a different venue in a different city.

  • Good but could be improved

by Bill on 9/17/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 4 out of 5

We have seen Les Miserables 6 times over the years in London and in US. We really were surprised not to see the set employ the turntable - always loved that. With that said the scene changes were quick. It did make it strange to see Empty Chairs being sung on an empty stage... Also surprised to see a Causasion young Eponine get replaced by an adult African-American Eponine. In summary the acting/singing/sets were very good. The acoustics on the left side were muddled. That is more on the venue than the touring show.

  • A fabulous, professional, exciting presentation!!

This was one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen--visually stunning and outstanding in every way.

  • Never gets old!

by AZ theatre fan on 9/16/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

This was the fourth professional production of Les Miz I’ve seen, and it never gets old. The voices were amazing. It’s a tough show musically, and the company nailed it. I loved the staging and the use of the backdrop screen for effects. My only comment is about the lighting. The entire show was a little dark, visually. Other than that, this was another strong performance of one of my favorite shows. 🇫🇷🎭

  • Wonderful performance, poor venue

by Soccermom on 9/16/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 4 out of 5

This will be our last time visiting this venue. Each time the lighting and sound is less than professional taking away from the amazing performance of the amazing theater performers. The sound drowns out the voices, the balance is never correct, I was hoping a different seating would change that. Being closer made it worse, not better. The first act was entirely interrupted by people entering with their camera flash lights lighting entire rows. I do not want to take away from the actors, they were absolutely amazing. So from now on I am sticking with Gammage.

  • Exquisite, well-paced, gorgeous voices

by Person on 9/16/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

The casting was perfect. It’s so true to the original with some modern artistic elements added. Beautiful voices - I cried multiple times. Great stage effects. Just lovely. They did a great job.

  • Super...enjoyed by all!

by BA on 9/16/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Took daughters & granddaughters to celebrate 2 birthdays. One was seeing it for the 3rd time....once in NYC, once in London. Wondered if your assistant director was the director then? Noted Leo is from NJ...& so are we! Up in mezz we could hear all very clearly. Many thanks.

  • Inconsiderate..

by What is it with late comers? on 9/16/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 3 out of 5

We are long time theatre goers. The production was excellent. Excellent! But shame on the attendants. People were still arriving..phones lit to find their seats...on the 7th song of the production!!! Well over 50 people were seated late. We had to stand up 3 times to allow people in our row. We just moved to AZ and if this is commonplace here we will not be attending further.

  • Lost

by Mb on 9/16/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 2 out of 5

Sorry I found it very hard to understand. That made it unenjoyable. Also butt heads coming in late! What’s up with those people?

  • Breathtaking and mindblowing

by Magel on 9/16/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

From the time the lights dropped to the final bow, it was mesmerizing. The sound, the vocals, the scenery, and the effects were amazing. It was truly awe-inspiring.

  • Heavenly

by Patti on 9/15/25Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

This show was as good as anything I’ve seen on Broadway. The voices, the singing, was stellar. Sets, costumes, special effects, were all stellar.

  • Low volume/ Centennial disruptive

by Emmie on 9/15/25Rating: 3 out of 5

Hello The show was great however as others said sound was bad during singing parts as couldn't understand half of the words being sung. Regarding Centennial hall Wanted to leave a comment regarding shows. I love seeing the touring shows at centennial hall however its gotten worse over the last few years. It isn't a $10.00 movie and allot of us spent 50-300$ for party attending, on seeing a single show. That being said it would be nice if their were minimal distractions such as popcorn containers being open and crumbled around as I’m not sure why that is an option for a Broadway or any theater show as it is really disruptive especially when its heard during talking parts of the production, this happened for seeing Les miserables, and a at least 4 other shows over the last 2 years again its not a 10$ movie half of the show I heard a pop corn container behind me being rustled/ crumbled and it takes away from the experience when I heard that and couldn't even hear what was being said in the show during talking parts (when it wasn't a sound issue). The other food options/containers aren’t a distraction but the pop corn is a poor choice (or the container that is used). The people next to me were also complaining about it because it was annoying them as well and they kept giving the couple behind us a look for making so much noise with the container and after the show they said “well the people behind us must have gotten their tickets for free since they picked that for a food choice” . I get maybe having it for the shows geared towards kids but for the more popular broadway shows it makes no sense when they can sale less disruptive options. Secondly when people show up late like 30-40 min late and all come in mid song looking for seats is yet another distraction, many shows don’t allow late seating until intermission to avoid disruption. Im not sure why centennial hall is one of the few that allow seating during mid performance. Hope the Broadway touring shows start requesting that centennial starts changing some of the things mentioned above. I think next year I will purchase tickets in Phoenix as they are a bit more in tune when it comes to Broadway -theater shows. If I wanted to eat or hear popcorn Id go to a movie theater and spend under $20. Wish there was another performance hall in Tucson for Touring Broadway shows …Tucson UofA do better!!
