About

After over 20 years, Les Claypool has regrouped his Fearless Flying Frog for the Summer of Green Tour. Long considered to be one of the animated bassist's most beloved bands, this incarnation of the ever-morphing act boasts longtime Frog Brigade members Skerik (saxophone) and Mike Dillon (percussion, vibraphone), as well as Sean Lennon (guitar), Harry Waters (keyboards) and Paulo Baldi (drums). The regrouping comes just over a decade after the Frog Brigade issued their lone album, Purple Onion, which Tom Waits heralded as one of his favorite records of all time.

Initially conceived during Claypool's short break from Primus in the early 2000s, the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade quickly became known as one of the bassist's most creative and improvisational outfits. Throughout their Summer of Green Tour, the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade will deliver a mix of original material and choice covers from throughout Claypool's rich catalog. The group will also perform Pink Floyd's 1977 psychedelic masterpiece, Animals--a staple on their original run--nightly.

Les and the rest of the fearless flying frog brigade are awesome! Killer Pink Floyd covers!

    Amazing musicians and great energy

by Scott Heaps on 6/23/23Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - Tampa

From the second the show started, it did not disappoint. I knew it was going to be a good one, but I was not prepared for just how good it was going to be. The opening lineup was incredible with Adrian Belew leading them and knocking out Zappa and Talking Heads songs with mad enthusiasm. And of course, when Claypool and Lennin hit the stage they managed to step it up yet another notch. The Floyd set was great and the Frog Brigade then took us for a ride including bringing Belew back out for mad jams. What a great night! The new venue at the Hard Rock was decent too.

    Very Enjoyable!

by DaveW on 6/23/23Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - Tampa

Show was excellent! Les and the other band members sounded great. It wasn’t Primus but the set list was awesome! The opening band was entertaining and payed for at least an hour. They did a fine job playing some talking heads and even played Life During Wartime!

by Joe G Clearwater on 6/23/23Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - Tampa

As always, Les is More! What a fantastic show. Also, Sean Lennon was amazing: love him so much...an incredible guitarist and a lovely voice (just like dad).

Should have indicated seats were somewhat obstructed

by Matt on 6/23/23Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - Tampa

Seats were expensive and no indication was made that they were obstructed by the floor plan and raised bleachers next to them

    Fantastic show

by K. P. on 6/20/23Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

We didn't know what to expect but we were extremely happy and surprised. They were absolutely talented musicians. It was great to see Harry Waters and Sean Lennon, they were fantastic as all the musicians. Les Claypool couldn't have had a more talented line up and it is always a treat to see him.

by Jorge S. on 6/20/23Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

Amazing show! Eclectic night of image skill and musical chops. Remain in Light showed off impressive catalog and stage presence. While the Colonel and his band of Frogs put on a killer 2+ hour set. Entire band showed out! Saenger theater always a great experience as well.

First time to the Frog Brigade did not disappoint

by Philip Scoggins on 5/31/23Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

Venue was awesome (first time) sound & lights great. The show... the show was perfect. Not exactly sure what I was expecting, first Frog Brigade, but I've been catching Les' bands since '95 so I've seen him ALOT and this was spectacular! All the musicians were nailing it, but I just feel like Les & Sean have some chemistry that just shines. Man it was great! It was one of those shows that I starting thinking, "Man, I wish Andrew & Dave were here. Wait, Lane, Fudge & Mikey would love this!" and on and on. Go catch this tour, it's on fire

    Great show terrible fans

by Annie on 5/31/23Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

this show was amazing! I had great seats and enjoyed every minute aside from the audience full of stank faced edgelords. Took my 17-year-old who has some social anxiety’s because they are a huge Primus fan and they couldn’t even go to the bathroom because grown men kept bullying them in line. This included a middle aged man repeating to over and over that he was really in line to see other dudes and didn’t have to use the restroom. I thought he was being dramatic until something similar happened to me while waiting for the family restroom. this time it was someone who actually worked at the venue. They were wearing one of those yellow vests, and they came up behind me about an inch from my face and asked if I was standing in line. I said that I was, and he acted super weird. I asked him what the problem was and he said “you just look startled“ and I told him that he startled me and he needed to back up. There also was no line for the women’s room at this show and men seem to be disgruntled that they had to stand in line to use the restroom The “grown men” at this show were sad bullies and were picking on the women and kids there.

    YASSS!

by Sunshine Farmer on 5/31/23Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

They killed it. Les never disappoints and always has amazing musicians accompanying him. The additions of Lennon and Rogers was perfect. I was bummed Skerik wasn't with them, but an amazing show nontheless.

    Excellent Show!

by Jess on 5/31/23Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

The Frog Brigade was better than expected and I had high expectations! My only wish was that it didn't end haha. They played When Johnny Comes Marching Home Intro, Thela Hun Ginjeet (King Crimson cover), Buzzards of Green Hill, David Makalaster (included Southbound Pachyderm tease), Cricket and the Genie (Movement I, The Delirium) (The Claypool Lennon Delirium cover), Cricket and the Genie (Movement II, Oratorio Di Cricket) (The Claypool Lennon Delirium cover) Pink Floyd's Animals, Pigs on the Wing, Part 1, Dogs, Pigs (Three Different Ones), Sheep, Pigs on the Wing, Part 2, Precipitation (Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel cover), David Makalaster II, Tomorrow Never Know, Cosmic Highway (included Wynona's Big Brown Beaver tease) & Pure Imagination (Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley song).. But, shows aren't always just about the music. I had my 4 year old there, and everyone we encountered was super sweet to him, and supportive of him being there. That's not always the case at the shows we take him to. He loved the music of course, but he also loved pig mask and the horse mask, the "magic xylophone" (Bluey anyone?), and the lights which reminded him of Ghostbusters haha. So he gives the show a 5 star review too.

    Bamboozled by a cover band

by Sickoffees on 5/31/23Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

The show was just okay. It was advertised as a Les Claypool and the Flying Frog Brigade show, however they only played 4 Frog Brigade songs. It was basically a Les Claypool and Friends show where they play covers all night. Sean Lennon has no business playing Pink Floyd or anything that requires more than rudimentary guitar skills.

    Spectacular show!

    by 6thplanet on 5/31/23Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

What an amazing time! Les and crew are just top notch musicians doing what they do best. Their rendition of Pink Floyd's Animals album was nothing less than awesome. If you have a chance to see this show, DO IT!

    fearless FullyRelyOnGod brigade

by grifalvey on 5/31/23Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

Neil Francis we will be seeing you again. Frog Brigade was delightfully sick and I left wanting to hop on tour. Iroquois Amphitheater is fantastic all the way around. The bathrooms may need a little improvement but the staff, security, and the sound make up for that jazz.

The show was amazing. I didn't know they were gonna play Animals by Pink Floyds. I was blown away. The sounds was amazing. They played very tight and clean. 10 out of 10. Highly highly recommend catching this tour.

    So freaking good!

by KASS on 5/31/23The Observatory North Park - San Diego

I wasn't aware that Fishbone was opening for the Frog Brigade. That was, of course, a very pleasant surprise. They are amazing and delivered an sonic bliss of jazzy roots with energy to light up a stadium. But, luckily, we were in San Diego's North Park Observatory which is super intimate. Loved it. Now, Les and his Frog Brigade. WOW - first of all, didn't know that Sean Ono Lennon was now a part of the band (actually, I'm not sure if he's a permanent addition or not but as a huge Claypool Lennon Delirium fan, I was thrilled). To be honest I wish they would have played more Frog Brigade songs but not going to complain about the King Crimson, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd covers (duh!). Amazing musicianship. Really loved all the xylophone (or is it a marimba?), and the fact that Les gets super into character (not unsual) making jokes and wearing a monkey mask to play the whamola during their "Whamola" track. It's just greatness in all the sense of the word. They played two of my favorite The Claypool Lennon Delirium tracks so by the end of it I was such a happy camper. Worth every penny (and it wasn't too expensive, honestly). Can't wait for my posted to get home (ordered it online because it was a web-exclusive shiny kind of iridescent variant!).

I have no complaints except for the seperate cost of VIP tables on top of already expensive VIP tix.
