by Lotaz on 8/12/19Orleans Showroom - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I had heard these guys on YouTube and when they finally announced the Vegas date I bought my tickets that day. No regrets! Best $25 concert I have seen in sometime. They were tight, on key and just a fun time! If you like Chicago you will enjoy these good folks from Russia! We had the honor of the original drummer, Danny, from Chicago sitting in for a couple of songs, what a treat!

  • Very good live performance

by Steve on 8/12/19Orleans Showroom - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I found this band on youtube a couple years ago and was amazed at there performances. They traveled from Moscow to the United States for a short tour at beginning of 2019, I traveled from Houston to Dallas to see them and it was an amazing show. Very large group with horn section several members sharing the singing. I caught them again in Las Vegas in August 2019, another amazing show.

  • Hands down the best live show i seen in years, Wow...

  • Simply awesome experience

by Steve H. on 8/12/19Orleans Showroom - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been following this group for a year and this was a great show! We were in the second row and the brass guys were right in front of us- which was a great show in itself! Unfortunately, the guitars were all the way on the right so we completely missed the excellent guitar work- wished they were in the center (like normal) so we could’ve seen them. But- there are a lot of people in the band so they are spread out across the stage. Next time we’ll have to sit on the right of buy tickets early enough to get a front and center ticket. Will I see them again?? Absolutely!!

  • Fantastic!

  • Best seats ever!

by Zaxh on 8/12/19Orleans Showroom - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The band was amazimg! A million times better live and in person. We were fortunate enough to buy 2nd row center seats so it was like the band was in our living room. The sound was amazing in the showroom and the staff was friendly. Best concert experience we ever had!

  • Exactness with love and energy!

by Kevin on 8/12/19Orleans Showroom - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Leonid and Friends capture the original sound of Chicago that caused thousands of fans to enjoy their music decades ago, bringing it to life for fans of old and new generations hearing it for the first time. It was thrilling to see and hear their incredible musical talents and obvious love for the pieces they have chosen to play. It is no wonder they are now being followed by so many here in the states, far from their Eastern European homes!

  • The BEST MUSICAL EXPERIENCE EVER!

by Pamela Porter on 8/10/19The Rose - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5

Like a beautiful "Saturday in the Park", but on a Wed. Aug 7, 2019 at the Rose in Pasadena, CA, I had the opportunity to enjoy, up-close in ultra-phonic stereo sound, "LEONID & FRIENDS", a project, gone viral as a self described tribute band that is SO much more than just a tribute or cover band, championing the 1970s American band, Chicago. As Leonid puts it: "One of the greatest bands ever". And let me tell you, LEONID & FRIENDS is, and will be known as one of the greatest bands ever themselves! In fact, they're so damn fantastically amazing and spot on, the original band, "Chicago" IMMEDIATELY added "LEONID & FRIENDS" to their very own website. EVERY essence, nuance, beat, rhythm, harmony of the original songs Chicago sang back in the late 60s early 70s, LEONID AND FRIENDS do, faithfully, to the Tee at every show! The bassist, Leonid, is the proud papa to what started out as a "project"; a "present to myself" of love, respect and inspiration for the complex, multi instrumental, skilled arrangements of award winning American mega stars, Chicago. However, Leonid and Friends are not American nor from the US. In fact most of them are from various parts of Russia, and the Ukraine and most members/friends of the band do not speak English. Leonid is from Siberia. SIBERIA, by the NORTH POLE! When in the heck would someone from Siberia, back in the 70s, have a chance to listen to American music? Well i had the good fortune to be able to ask Leonid this question myself. The story is unbelievable. So is the story of how the group came to be. So is the story of how Leonid listened to Chicago's songs back then, and patiently, BY EAR (there wasn't sheet music in Siberia) transcribed EACH instrumental notes and sound, and then the vocals... and then the LANGUAGE! ALL BY EAR! And also unbelievable is the story of of his first electric guitar, hand made, using parts of a telephone receiver for the "pick up". The group is so diverse, so professional, so humble, almost shy, and caught off guard as the audience and myself fly out of our seats with thunderous applause and standing ovation as they enter the stage! Before they perform! I will never forget that! LEONID & FRIENDS should be ambassadors for world peace. Think about it. For Americans to embrace, welcome and praise some unknown Russian musicians on US soil, and for Russian people to be allowed to enjoy and play music, and tribute it to a universally known American band, then hand deliver it to U.S. soil because of our relentless, popular demand. WOW... What's this world coming to?! Maybe, harmony? But this is "only the beginning"... Much respect and love to L&F. From Pamela in California

  • Fabulous show, insanely loud opening act

by Joe on 8/10/19The Rose - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5

Leonid and Friends are all stellar musicians and vocalists. They make it look easy. Their faithful (and at times tastefully enhanced) renditions of Chicago songs are spot-on and the band’s energy is captivating. The audience rose to its feet several times to acknowledge their superb musicianship and stage presence. Would see them again in a heartbeat. On a sour note, the opening act was mediocre and LOUD. DID I SAY *LOUD*!!?? Their totally irresponsible sound guy ensured that everybody’s hearing was fried before Leonid and Friends took the stage. Earplugs next time.

  • Awesome

by Sounder on 8/10/19The Rose - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5

This band was totally awesome sounded better then the original band Chicago. The horn section was incredible the only thing I was not a fan of was the solo set of the drummer, should of did more songs instead of solo.

  • Best concert ever

by Fred on 8/10/19The Rose - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5

Leonid & Friends is without question the best cover band I have ever seen. It’s not even close. The precision at which they reproduced Chicago’s music is uncanny. The Rose was such a great venue for the concert. There is not a bad seat in the place. We were close enough to see their fingers playing the instruments. In so many ways this was the best concert I’ve attended.

  • excellent show. venue sound in the back not great, but ok.

by bcmbryce on 8/3/19Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 5 out of 5

right on the ocean-how cool is that? this band is smoking hot and clearly knows chicago’s music inside and out, but they are far from just going through the motions! they truly love this music as much as we all do, and play with fire. such a joy to watch. blue ocean music hall in salisbury MA is a very nice venue, but don’t wait and get standing room only tickets-you’ll be standing up back!

  • Echos of Terry Kath

by WWY on 8/3/19Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 5 out of 5

Another YouTube phenomenon, this time from Russia. An aficionado of Chicago gathers musicians to replicate their canon. Videos go viral, band coalesces, promoter in US sees opportunity - 3 US tours come together. I am not a fan of tribute acts. This group presents a beloved (for me at least) musical history. Much of their set consists of early Chicago when Terry Kath and Peter Cetera were together. Leonid and Friends replicate Terry's vocals (Vasillii), guitar (Serge K.) and Cetera's vocals (Serge T.). All professional musicians, they have great stage presence. With 11 pieces, the sound is magnificent. Another US tour is scheduled for autumn 2019. Seek them out.

  • Absolutely Outstanding!

by Decurion on 8/3/19Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 5 out of 5

Leonid & Friends is remarkably talented with real, no kidding musicians. Their ability to clone Chicago's hits is stunning, with a note-by-note replication of the music. The horn section was flawless, guitarists tight and mastered, and the drummer- simply the best I've ever seen. Voices were unbelievable as well. Seating was a bit over-stuffed, but definitely worth it. Acoustics were great and volume not too loud, but just a few decibels from being uncomfortable. Overall a fantastic evening and I would see the band again without a doubt.

  • So Much Fun!

by Steve C on 8/3/19Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 5 out of 5

First, the music was world-class. This is a top-drawer group of musicians and singers. Second, they poured themselves into the performance. They both worked hard and had a lot of fun. Third, Leonid’s story would be a great book. We got little snippets of how he came to love American music behind the Iron Curtain and I’d love to hear more. My wife said it’s the best concert I’ve ever taken her to. Given that this list would include Springsteen and the E-Street Band and many other great artists, it should tell everyone how much fun she had.

  • Had a great time

Great music. Seats a little close together at tables.

Somebody else said this, so i can't take credit for this wonderful sentiment. (paraphrased) This is Leonid's wonderful dream and we're all in it. Great show, fabulous venue.

  • Our second Leonid & Friends concert!

  • What a fabulous experience!!!

by Brenda G on 8/2/19Sony Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

What a true joy to hear Leonid and Friends play such perfect renditions of Chicago's best hits!! Their individual musicality and their energetic personalities were so refreshing. The Sony Hall venue was such a perfect place to enjoy the fully round sound of the band. Hope they come back again!!!

  • Every band member oozes spectacular talent

by Tom on 7/30/19Sony Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

L&F band exceeded every expectation. After following them on Youtube for several years, I knew I had to see them live. When I didn't see any venues nearby, I selected NYC since that was the 1st hall they played in the US and new it would be special to them. They did not disappoint. Subsequently, they announced a gig in nearby Jacksonville and I purchased tickets to that show before seeing them in NYC. After their performance in NY, I'm not sure I can wait until December to see them again in Jax. Looking at their tour schedule to see if just maybe I can sneak another show in before then.
