LEON BRIDGES IN CONCERT:
Leon Bridges sings soul and gospel straight from the heart, forming an instant connection with audiences wherever he plays. His smoothly cool vocals recall Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, and fans can’t help but be transported to the ‘50s and ‘60s R&B heyday as he belts out songs like “Coming Home”, “Smooth Sailin’”, and “Better Man”. His backing band completes the Stax-inspired sound of these songs with reedy organs, melodic basslines, blaring sax, and female backing vocals. Leon Bridges is ready to bring his own R&B style and effortless croon on tour, much to the delight of fans aross the country.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Leon Bridges was born in Atlanta, GA in 1989, though he grew up in Fort Worth, TX. He began writing songs at a young age, learning simple guitar chords to accompany his lyrics. He was working as a dishwasher and playing open mic nights when he happened to befriend White Denim guitarist Austin Jenkins. With Jenkins’ assistance and vintage equipment, the singer was able to cut demo versions of “Coming Home” and “Lisa Sawyer” in 2014. After receiving over 800,000 streams of these songs, the singer signed with Columbia Records, promptly releasing “Coming Home” in 2015 as his first single. An album of the same name arrived in June and garnered critical acclaim for the songwriter’s classic style and poised songwriting. With fans eagerly awaiting a follow-up to his smash debut, Bridges continues to amass an ever-growing fanbase with his spiritually moving live performances on tour.

Was very dissatisfied the opener was awful and it took way too long for him to come on stage we ended up leaving before he even got on stage
Leon made this night everything and more! Intimate and yet full of art and big production wow.
Love Leon Bridges music, however it was difficult to hear on the first row of the 300 level. Not sure if it was a building acoustics or a sound mixing issue but there was too much echo going on. Difficult to make out individual words. Listening to his recorded music after the show was significantly clearer and better.
I think a smaller venue for two days would have been better! Most of the screen was blocked by the speakers so I couldn’t see him or the band for some of the show! Leon was fantastic the venue was too big I would have had a better time at many other venues!
Love Leon and had a good time, but the vocals were overpowered by the instrumentals. Not sure why the engineers did adjust.
Little Dragon was awesome. That’s who I bought the tickets for. Leon was too mellow after LD and was good but was amped up and then realized it was a mellow show after LD. He was really good though
Leon is amazing! Even better in person than on vinyl. I highly recommend this incredible show!
I came to hear Leon Bridges sing, and I could hardly hear him. The rest of his band was turned up too loud and his mic wasn’t loud enough. The best part of the show was when he sang alone with his guitar and you could really hear his beautiful voice. Overall, a little lack luster. Whamp whamp.
Unless you’re a huge fan and knew every song you had no chance of understanding any of the lyrics during Leon Bridges performance. I’ve seen him at other venues where I fell in love with his voice and music but this was a real disappointment.
Seats were insanely steep and hard to access. Show didn't have door opening time so showed up after 8 and first band was nearly done already. Sound of vocals was off and hard to hear at 3rd tier.
I was looking forward to seeing one of my favorite artists for months. What a letdown. This venue was not correct for his kind of music. He has such incredible talent but sounded tired. A different venue would have given him a chance to shine.
Leon Bridges did not disappoint! Great live music event and I would go see him again anytime. Lots of folks dancing and singing along, really just an overall positive experience.
Leon Bridges is a great artist that put on a heck of a show. Thank you Stir for bringing him in!
Leon Bridges was wonderful but where I was sitting (section 210) the acoustics were so bad that I could barely hear his beautiful voice over the bass. I was really disappointed because it was my first time seeing Leon Bridges and I felt that it was a poor performance just because I couldn't really hear him. I hope to see him again in a different venue with better acoustics.
Unfortunately, when Leon sang, he was muffled, not clear at all. I’m surprised the sound techs didn’t notice that.
Leon was wonderful. Floor seating was awful. You could barely see the stage when people stood up. You’re better off with cheaper bowl level seats. Acoustics were also very bad. Not fair to the artist or the fans.
45 minutes in line for a beer. $20 for a mixed drink. Terrible sound balance / quality. Really lackluster performance. One of the worst concerts ive ever been to.
Awesome seeing Little Dragon and I wish their set was longer. There was quite a bit of down time while the stage set was being changed - would have been nice to at least have the house lights low while we are waiting so the audience doesn't have to awkwardly stare at each other while waiting. Leon Bridges did his thing, overall set was ok. Not sure it was worth paying for the dance floor tickets though.
There was too much bass. Was difficult to enjoy the show because the bass drowning out the vocals.
