About

LEON BRIDGES IN CONCERT:

Leon Bridges sings soul and gospel straight from the heart, forming an instant connection with audiences wherever he plays. His smoothly cool vocals recall Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, and fans can’t help but be transported to the ‘50s and ‘60s R&B heyday as he belts out songs like “Coming Home”, “Smooth Sailin’”, and “Better Man”. His backing band completes the Stax-inspired sound of these songs with reedy organs, melodic basslines, blaring sax, and female backing vocals. Leon Bridges is ready to bring his own R&B style and effortless croon on tour, much to the delight of fans aross the country.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Leon Bridges was born in Atlanta, GA in 1989, though he grew up in Fort Worth, TX. He began writing songs at a young age, learning simple guitar chords to accompany his lyrics. He was working as a dishwasher and playing open mic nights when he happened to befriend White Denim guitarist Austin Jenkins. With Jenkins’ assistance and vintage equipment, the singer was able to cut demo versions of “Coming Home” and “Lisa Sawyer” in 2014. After receiving over 800,000 streams of these songs, the singer signed with Columbia Records, promptly releasing “Coming Home” in 2015 as his first single. An album of the same name arrived in June and garnered critical acclaim for the songwriter’s classic style and poised songwriting. With fans eagerly awaiting a follow-up to his smash debut, Bridges continues to amass an ever-growing fanbase with his spiritually moving live performances on tour.

    Great Show!

    by Mia on 8/28/23

Leon Bridges is the best! He doesn't need any fanfare or pyrotechnics, just good clean sound, great voice and back-up, kind and diverse crowd. I loved it!

His music is great, but the live show was so weak and short. Underwhelmed.

    LEON is AMAZING!

    by R. P. on 1/15/23

Leon is great! I’m reading reviews about sound or venue not being the best. It’s sad to see he’s showing such low reviews for other factors.

    Best time of my life

    by A. W. on 10/28/22

We saw Leon in Atlanta. Little dragon was not my favorite at all. But Leon was the best life performance I have ever seen. I was out of my seat the whole time and emotional. It was an honor to see him. His music has changes my life. I will go see him every opportunity i get.

    Leon Bridges at Stir Cove

    by E. S. on 9/25/22

Man Little Dragon was amazing! They set the energy level high and they sounded great live! Unfortunately I can’t say the same for Leon. Yeah he sang all his good stuff, but his energy level was really lacking. When you go to a live show you expect a little more of an experience and variety to the songs since they are live. I’m glad I didn’t spend a whole lot to see him. I’d much rather stay home and listen to the recordings.

LB at the Greek in Berkeley

    by Magic721 on 9/12/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Little Dragon was a great opener though they could headline as well(love them!). Leon Bridges was amazing! Him, his band, and the vibe were all great! Any time you have an artist that sounds just as good in person as they do on their albums you know you’re in for a treat. Fantastic show from start to finish!

    Amazing 🤩

by Cono on 9/12/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

A great amphitheatre theater and a very considerate crowd. I came late and somehow got an open spot center stage and danced my cares away to the croons and jams of Leon and his band - spectacular night with the moon shining above

    Great show but updated

    by Theresa R on 9/11/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I saw Leon Bridges at the Greek theater in Berkeley. He played beyond, river, and a couple of other classics but everything else was more modern and rock ‘n’ roll. Still very good but I love his stuff from about six or seven years ago. It was not that kind of show.

    Really bad sound

    by L. K. on 9/11/22

Love Leon’s music but someone on team Leon needs to do a major sound check. The band and backup singers do not compliment him at all. He was also off key most of the time. Lots of people left before the encore which is never a good sign. This is the third time I’ve seen Leon and by far the worst show. Also, the T-Mobile add made me feel like he’s selling out. Leon - read these reviews and make some changes! Little dragon was amazing. Wish they had played all night.

    Amazing Tech, lackluster performance

by DubJ on 9/10/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

The lighting and LED wall design were gorgeous and interesting, working with each other seamlessly. The sound (though a bit loud) was clean and crisp. Leon Bridges performance was pretty devoid of energy & felt like he was phoning it in. The back up singers were not complimentary to the entire ensemble. The food and beverage experience at the venue was a-ok. We love the Greek but this show was overall, a bust.

    Leon Bridges

Did not expect such a Hollywood style experience. Love his music and felt he could have been more humble. Guess stardom has its costs.

    Terrible sound, stiff show

by AR on 9/10/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I love Leon Bridges recorded music. The live show at the Berkeley Greek was terrible. The sound was way too loud, mushy, and out of balance. I blame Leon’s team, not the sound team at the Greek, as Little Dragon played first and they sounded great.

    Sound

    by M on 9/10/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

The sound was way off. His vocals were too high, even sitting straight ahead. That was really unfortunate, but other wise the venue was amazing, fans were excellent.
