Venue was very comfortable, but could have been improved by having Leo on platform to be able to see him more clearly.
Leo continues to be very entertaining. His age, if anything, adds a level of appreciation for his gift as a guitarist and entertainer. The venue was perfect for the event as well.
The show was great, but, the seating is too too close together. I had to hunch over to not infringe on my neighbor.
Please come again. And bring the 12 stringer. The style is unique to Leo.
Have been seeing Leo live for about 20 years. Although he’s slowed down a bit from The Armadillo LP, it was a great show. Still a special raconteur and a self depreciating attitude that was endearing. Thoroughly satisfied!
Leo spoke some throughout the show while changing guitars. Great stories shared and the most beautiful guitar playing. There were tempo changes and the slower songs were my favorites. I left the concert happy and spiritually full.
Great location, wonderful acoustics and Leo and Dan King made a wonderful duo
An evening with Leo Kottke is always a warm and enjoyable experience. This evening was no exception - he augmented his one-man show with a guy on drums. This added to the ambience by bringing in a subtle rythmic beat to puncuate Leo's mellow tones. We'll always be there when Leo comes to town.
Leo Kottke is always a delight in concert. His guitar work is as brilliant as ever and his rambling remembrances are hysterical. Very entertaining.
Been enjoying Le Kottke & his unique style of guitar since the early 70's. he is a bit slower now, as we get older, we all slow down but his skills are as sharp as ever!
Leo gave his typical excellent performance complete with his humorous stories and other witticisms. He also delved into his vast repertoire so that this concert ws different from the other Leo Kottke concers I've seen.
Leo still has it. Last saw him in 1990s at Caravan of Dreams in Ft. Worth. Outstanding musician and funny as hell story-teller with a wry sense of humor.
For over one and a half hours Leo Kottke displayed his unique virtuoso guitar ability and regaled us with tales of his life experiences. I laughed at his stories and was mesmerized by his music. Not many people can walk out on a stage with two guitars, without any backup, and make as much great music. The sound at Amaturo theater is excellent and it is a pleasant theater. A wonderful show!
Kottke gave a great performance in a beautiful theatre. The Lyric is an intimate setting that is spectacular after the re-do. Leo Kottke is a proven performer and gave the audience everything he had and it was mighty fine. I've been a fan for over 40 years and there was nothing disappointing about that night in Downtown Birmingham.
Leo has not lost ability to entertain and mesmerize his audience. I really didn't want the evening to end. The Lyric Theater was the perfect venue for this gifted guitarist!
It was an engaging performance by Leo who wowed us with his humorous storytelling and fine guitar playing! We had a great time....thank you Pamela Brown!
No one can play a guitar like Leo Kottke. He is one of a kind. Loved every minute. Hope he comes back to Lawrence soon.
Leo Kottke’s uncurated demeanor and mastery of the acoustic guitar continues to charm audiences worldwide. A terrific show weaving personal anecdotes and incredible guitar playing into a wonderful relaxing evening out.
I've been a Leo Kottke fan since 1973 when I wore out the groove on my Greenhouse LP. Have enjoyed his live performances a dozen times since then. And this performance at Liberty Hall was as strong as the others. Thanks Leo for your persistence in touring. We love the records but nothing beats experiencing you live. Is it time for a revival of awareness of Leo's excellence with the two new generations who have no clue (or perhaps lack the aptitude to fully appreciate him)? Or shall we continue to enjoy him in small intimate venues? A video campaign on FB/IG/YT would generate millions of views--and ticket sales.
I've enjoyed his style of guitar for many years, and really enjoyed his show. Very relaxed and interesting evening.
