I bought tickets for my 17 year old daughter and 15 year old daughter for Christmas since "Legally Blonde" is one of their favorite movies. Well, we left during intermission and we weren't the only ones. The show was very unnecessarily vulgar. They didn't need men ripping their shirt off or Elle saying "this is Harvard not a strip club" because of the way her sorority sisters were dancing. They also didn't need to tell Elle to use her "goodies" as a way to get Warren back. We missed our sassy, sweet Elle that used her brains and confidence to show up Warren. I felt bad for the little girls around us. Maybe next time give a better description of the show and don't sell kids tickets.
Took my mom and daughter and we all had a great time! Great show…amazing performances !
From start to finish the show was great! The cast was fully committed to their respective characters and delivered in terms of their respective performances. It was funny, it was exciting, and it was something I’ll remember for some time. Bravo!
This show was so energetic and funny! I got tickets for my wife as an early Christmas gift and she absolutely loved it!
Very entertaining. Funny, amazing singing, amazing dancing. The cast was phenomenal!
Hilarious and very well done! Some content of the stage production varied from the movie, but it didn't change the plot in any way and just added some comedy! I especially liked that a real, live dog was used for Elle's furry friend! The singing and dancing were top notch and very entertaining!
This was a date night for me and my husband. As we waited for the curtain to go up, we were trying to figure out how they took "Legally Blonde" the move, that we love, and turn it into a musical. But within minutes, we knew...and it was awesome. They did an amazing job joining song and music to the story line. Though several part of the movie were changed, the new scenes flowed nicely for the musical. At first, my husband thought it was a "chick event", but when it was over, he said it was great. Date night accomplished!
Great performers - however the updated edginess was a bit too in-your-face LGBT,etc. for all the young attendees out for a special experience with the mothers and grandmothers. Also typical lefty digs but used to that these days. Sorry. Just a cautionary note. We went to see the fabulously renovated Civic theater and was thrilled with what has been done!
The show itself was amazing and the Staff at the Akron Civic Theatre were amazing. However, there needs to be better controls on guest late arrivals, also leaving and re-entering during the performance. It felt like a football game, many guests were up and down through out the show to get more snacks and adult refreshments. Normally guests are instructed to be in their seats for the curtain up and to wait for intermission for additional refreshments. These interrupts really made it hard for those around these many guests to thoroughly enjoy the show. Normally, ushers will hold guests that are trying to enter late or re-enter during the performance. I would suggest, as they do in the larger theatres that the refreshment areas are closed while the performance is live and only open again at intermission.
I love musicals. In the past 25 years, I have been to been to so many musicals at every level— from middle school productions to Broadway musicals in NYC. Legally Blonde was the worst musical I have ever seen. The singing was sub-par. The performers did not fit their character parts from the movie. The costumes, songs, choreography, set— everything was so disappointing!! Please do not waste your time and money. You will regret seeing this.
The acting, dancing, and singing were great. I highly recommend seeing Legally Blonde.
The lead girl Elle was outstanding along with the hairdresser!! The choreography was also outstanding! But I would say the “oh my G*d over and over was offensive for Christians as we see that as God’s name in vain! Also I think the gay scene was unnecessary with young children in the audience as that needed to be explained to the eight year old that I had with me.
Felt like I was at a cheap high school play. Terrible sound, speakers weren’t working. Couldn’t hear anything and I had orchestra seats. If I could get my money back would!! I left at intermission which couldn’t have arrived sooner. Bad bad bad
The performers were perfectly casted. The two main actors were incredible. The voices snd acting from all the performers were on point. One thing I wasn’t very pleased with was the mics on the male performers. I think the volume should have been turned up for the lower pitches. But the rest was entertaining and exceptionally performed. Talent was not lacking in this performance. Great show.
My daughter and her teen age friend couldn’t stop clapping, had great smiles on their face. I love that movie and really loved the performance of those young actors, we all had a lovely time. Congratulations to the young actors and to everyone who made it possible. it was a refreshing evening
Amazing evening of entertainment and laughter! The cast was absolutely incredible! Details and characters and OMG vocals on these young performers! I am confident we will hear and see them again!!! 👏 great job 💐
Stage show was amazing. These kids and instructors are amazing. The educational component of the broward center is a program to be proud of
Okay this production was pretty great! All the leads were on point, the costumes were great, and the humor was delivered perfectly. However, what is legally blonde with out the dogs?!?! NO DOGS! Not even fake ones. They just pretended they were there! I’ve seen this show before and loves that there were real dogs involved. What the heck?
I took my daughters to see Legally Blonde. The show was GREAT, but we were very disappointed when we discovered there were no Playbills or any merchandise. How can we get the playbill after the fact?
