LCD SOUNDSYSTEM IN CONCERT:

Back in the early '00s fans fell hard and fast for the funky electronica and rebellious rock and roll spirit LCD Soundsystem brought to their superb albums and killer live shows. The fun ended in 2011 when the band hung up their guitars and unplugged their drum machines, but not all was lost—legendary frontman James Murphy announced a reunion in 2015, and fans can't wait for LCD to blast some seriously funky stuff when they return to the stage. With headlining sets at several world-class festivals slated for 2016, the band has fans chomping at the bit to dance the night away to favorites like “Losing My Edge”, “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House”, and “North American Scum”. LCD Soundsystem is sure to deliver the party-worthy passion that ticket buyers love to feel on the dance floor, and fans can't wait for their epic comeback party.

BACKFROUND SNAPSHOT:

James Murphy bounced around the NYC music scene for more than a decade before gaining traction with the DJ project Death from Above, which saw him spinning everything from Daft Punk to Can. After seeing a younger DJ aping his unique mixes, he was inspired to write the snarky, humorous “Losing My Edge” in 2002 and LCD Soundsystem was born. He continued to cut successful singles and assembled a group of musicians to recreate his songs in a live setting, a move that thrilling both indie rockers and underground dance fans. Murphy's underground fame soon gave way to crossover success—the band's 2005 self-titled debut and 2007 album Sound of Silver both received Grammy nominations for Best Electronica/Dance Album. After the release of their 2010 album This Is Happening, Murphy decided to step out of the limelight and announced the group’s final show the following year. The hiatus only lasted four years, as the songwriter posted a heartfelt letter to his fans in 2015 telling them he had come up with a wealth of new material and decided that his former band would be the best outlet for it. With LCD Soundsystem headlining major festivals like Coachella in 2016, fans can’t wait to pick up where this dance party left off.

They were wonderfully entertaining. I really wished I got tickets for all three shows.I had such a good time. Go see them before you die!

  • Excellent return of LCD Soundsystem

    by staffman50 on 12/6/17Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This is my third time seeing LCD and my first time seeing them since their reunion and they returned in style. They avoided playing the pop hits like Daft Punk and North American Scum, but that was more than alright with the selection of songs they did perform. The bottom end sound was great. It was as if someone figured out how to jack the bass up on the speakers without burying the vocals. Excellent show.

LCD Soundsystem played a great show in Montreal. I was surprised that they played relatively few new songs (maybe three), but I was not disappointed to hear my favorite classics. I just wish they had played "Yeah."

I wish I could have gone to all 5 shows, it was so good, so much fun and an old school dance party.

LCD Soundsystem did not disappoint! Great show with a ton of energy, a fun a playful band, and the songs all sounded great. Will 100% be going again if/when they do another tour.

Such a delight to see a band with so much chemistry and such a powerful sound that can make a room full of people become friends and jump right out of their shoes

  • Great Show!

by 2phat on 11/20/17Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

Big arena; sound was just o.k., both from the floor and up in the seats. LCD put on a very great show. My only complaint is that the Bill Graham Civic is not a great sounding venue, so the nuances of the music were lost in overall volume (super loud, at least for my ears) and indistinct acoustics. I would have LOVED to see/hear this band at the Fox in Oakland, for example. Regardless of that, totally enjoyed the show by one of the greatest bands of our time. The whole building was up and dancing for the entire concert. Staff and logistics of the show were great. It's just a big, boomy room!

  • LCD Spectator - Venue Not So Great!

by Cahoop on 11/18/17Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

So glad I was able to see LCD Soundsystem in concert. Fantastic show. Love this band. The sound was definitely off for the first few sounds and then they found the right levels. I will say it did seem they were pushing the volume to the max which of course impacted the quality of the sound. Not sure why that was necessary. It’s a shame the venue lessened the night. The years have not been good to Bill Graham Civi Auditorium. It stinks of vomit, urine, alcohol & smoke. As well as the fact people are smoking all around you and some how because it’s not cigarettes it’s acceptable. Why as a non smoker of all things, do I have no choice. It’ll take a lot for me to attend a show at this venue again.

  • Dance Yrself Clean

by Greeneyedfox on 11/18/17Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

LCD Soundsystem played a sold out show to a crowd of adoring fans. The sound and lighting was amazing, to be expected. We attended both nights and wish we could hit the LA and Brooklyn shows as well. Getting in, getting great seats, and fast access to bathrooms and beers made the show even better. Everyone working there was very nice and helpful as well.

  • LCD!

by Meche1 on 11/17/17Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! Was very impressed with the set list and the majority of the crowd was great! Sound could have been a little better though.

  • disappointed

by krrrrrrrrrrr on 11/17/17Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 2 out of 5

They lacked energy big time. Light show was redundant. Songs sounded like they did on record, but there was really no performance. Would have rather listened to their records at home.

  • Horrible audio

by Tony7 on 11/17/17Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

Way too loud, couldn't hear anything. Sound was not balanced, levels way off. Even the band commented on how bad the sound was.
