LCD SOUNDSYSTEM IN CONCERT:
Back in the early '00s fans fell hard and fast for the funky electronica and rebellious rock and roll spirit LCD Soundsystem brought to their superb albums and killer live shows. The fun ended in 2011 when the band hung up their guitars and unplugged their drum machines, but not all was lost—legendary frontman James Murphy announced a reunion in 2015, and fans can't wait for LCD to blast some seriously funky stuff when they return to the stage. With headlining sets at several world-class festivals slated for 2016, the band has fans chomping at the bit to dance the night away to favorites like “Losing My Edge”, “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House”, and “North American Scum”. LCD Soundsystem is sure to deliver the party-worthy passion that ticket buyers love to feel on the dance floor, and fans can't wait for their epic comeback party.
BACKFROUND SNAPSHOT:
James Murphy bounced around the NYC music scene for more than a decade before gaining traction with the DJ project Death from Above, which saw him spinning everything from Daft Punk to Can. After seeing a younger DJ aping his unique mixes, he was inspired to write the snarky, humorous “Losing My Edge” in 2002 and LCD Soundsystem was born. He continued to cut successful singles and assembled a group of musicians to recreate his songs in a live setting, a move that thrilling both indie rockers and underground dance fans. Murphy's underground fame soon gave way to crossover success—the band's 2005 self-titled debut and 2007 album Sound of Silver both received Grammy nominations for Best Electronica/Dance Album. After the release of their 2010 album This Is Happening, Murphy decided to step out of the limelight and announced the group’s final show the following year. The hiatus only lasted four years, as the songwriter posted a heartfelt letter to his fans in 2015 telling them he had come up with a wealth of new material and decided that his former band would be the best outlet for it. With LCD Soundsystem headlining major festivals like Coachella in 2016, fans can’t wait to pick up where this dance party left off.

First time going to see LCD Soundsystem and it was so much fun. They sound amazing live. Had everyone dancing all night. Would totally go watch them again.
I love the song 'call the police' but they had this wall of keyboards and percussion that was just amazing. I will totally see them next time they are in my area!
This band has been around for a while and they don't disappoint. I've seen them a few times over the last few years and my friends and I always have a blast. And having this show at the Greek was fantastic. This is a great venue!
Great show. An amazing range of music, with nods to Joy Division, Gang of Four, Kraftwork and more. Was blown away. They made a point of playing the longest set possible as allowed by the venue, right down to the last second as shown by a large digital clock that Murphy brought onto stage. Enjoyed the Greek Theater as a venue, down on the floor close to the stage. I've been seeing bands in small venues for nearly 40 years and this was for sure one of the best.
The Greek is as good as an outdoor venue gets* we were on the first step up and the space couldn't have been better - great view and space to groove!! I was blown away by LCD in the fall ... and this one could've been better (i like the Greek waaaay more than Bill Graham). Good folks all around
Awesome. I love how Murphy cranks up the bass and the volume so you can literally feel the music, but not in a way that makes your ears hurt.
This was the first time I've seen a concert at the Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley and it was amazing. The sound quality was on point. The view was amazing and I wish I could have come back the following night to see the show again! I've been to countless festivals and concerts in genres' across the board, but this might honestly have been one of the top 5 concerts I've ever been too. It doesn't hurt that I'm a huge LCD Soundsystem fan. The only draw back is that in on the floor/standing room, my fiance and I tried to get a little closer and some lady literally asked us to not stand in an open area, because he friends were in the bathroom and she was "saving" the spots at a rock concert in the standing room only area! We tried to be respectful as possible and there was plenty of room, but it seemed pretty ridiculous to ask people to not have fun or dance at one of the most unique bands in modern history.
Amazing sound, setlist, and energy. A perfect show!!!
I was so glad they added a third night so I could go. James Murphy is amazing and Nancy, Pat, Al and co. absolutely killed it. Without a doubt the Greek is the best venue in the Bay Area.
I've seen LCD SS like 6 or 7 times and it was just as epic at The Greek Theater in Berkeley as it was in Coachella a couple years back. There were times that were nearly spiritual. I joked that when I saw them at The Fillmore in SF (about 8 years ago) is the only time I wasn't buzzed at a show yet the show made me buzzed....but it was true. Same thing at The Greek, but I was hella buzzed, legally!
Great show! LCD is my favorite live act and always kills it. Sound quality was especially good from where I was sitting (lowest level just behind the pit).
Incredible mix of songs from current and past albums with continuity segues like they were producing an album on the fly live. James Murphy was in fine form (and in good shape) leading the team, and there was plenty of low bass moments and heavy syncopated rhythms for dancing. An incredibly fun night, especially with the tight, talented opening band TV on the Radio. The Greek in Berkeley is by far my favorite venue -- incredible sound, good vibes, and aside from a few drunk idiots, a cool crowd.
LCD Soundsystem is one of those bands that you need to see in concert if you like any of their music. They're way better performing than in the studio. I'll see them any time they're around.
Venue was amazing, and LCD Soundsystem brought down the house!!
GReat band and songs They like interacting with crowd Not the best acoustics
LCD brought their A game to the Fillmore for 3 straight nights (I only went Wed and Thurs but heard Tues was amazing too). Two of the best shows I have seen in a long time.
first time nobs for either LCD and / or the Agganis were in full attendance but with the amount of so called fans standing on the floor and not dancing gave the rest of us a lot of room to get down. Sound and lights were great from my spot on the floor but again with a lot of people standing around you could have gone further back to get a better view of the band if that's whats you're looking for. Security on the way was standard and I don't think they want to be physically pating anyone down anymore so it was just the wand and the honor system of "empty" your pockets. Bathroom, food and beer lines were of course long but if you simply walked in the opposite direction of the masses of people you'd find bathroom, food and beer lines with one or two people in them.
Resurrection...dangerous. So easy to fall for. James Murphy is a talented master of control. But so real. Why not 5 stars...arena. Still, better than Orpheum with seats. Avalon (HOB) was ideal.
LCD Soundsystem always put on a high-energy, tight show, but it was tough to appreciate it with the muddy sound bouncing around the hockey arena... not a good venue for a concert.
