LCD SOUNDSYSTEM IN CONCERT:

Back in the early '00s fans fell hard and fast for the funky electronica and rebellious rock and roll spirit LCD Soundsystem brought to their superb albums and killer live shows. The fun ended in 2011 when the band hung up their guitars and unplugged their drum machines, but not all was lost—legendary frontman James Murphy announced a reunion in 2015, and fans can't wait for LCD to blast some seriously funky stuff when they return to the stage. With headlining sets at several world-class festivals slated for 2016, the band has fans chomping at the bit to dance the night away to favorites like “Losing My Edge”, “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House”, and “North American Scum”. LCD Soundsystem is sure to deliver the party-worthy passion that ticket buyers love to feel on the dance floor, and fans can't wait for their epic comeback party.

BACKFROUND SNAPSHOT:

James Murphy bounced around the NYC music scene for more than a decade before gaining traction with the DJ project Death from Above, which saw him spinning everything from Daft Punk to Can. After seeing a younger DJ aping his unique mixes, he was inspired to write the snarky, humorous “Losing My Edge” in 2002 and LCD Soundsystem was born. He continued to cut successful singles and assembled a group of musicians to recreate his songs in a live setting, a move that thrilling both indie rockers and underground dance fans. Murphy's underground fame soon gave way to crossover success—the band's 2005 self-titled debut and 2007 album Sound of Silver both received Grammy nominations for Best Electronica/Dance Album. After the release of their 2010 album This Is Happening, Murphy decided to step out of the limelight and announced the group’s final show the following year. The hiatus only lasted four years, as the songwriter posted a heartfelt letter to his fans in 2015 telling them he had come up with a wealth of new material and decided that his former band would be the best outlet for it. With LCD Soundsystem headlining major festivals like Coachella in 2016, fans can’t wait to pick up where this dance party left off.

  • Thoroughly Enjoyable Time

by PAB on 5/17/24Hayden Homes Amphitheater - BendRating: 5 out of 5

First time at the Live Nation amphitheater, last time pre-pandemic. Very impressed with how smoothly it was to enter, lots of friendly staff to help with our questions along the way. Rental chairs comfortable. Lots of food and beverage vendors. Stage was awesome with the two screens to enjoy the close up shots of the performers. Great sound. And we thoroughly enjoyed dancing to LCD Soundsystem. Looking forward to our next show.

  • Uh-may-zing show!

by Concert Chris on 5/17/24Hayden Homes Amphitheater - BendRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing them and what a show! Every song was flawless but the very best was their interaction with the audience. Really seemed that they loved being there. 10/10, going to be tough to top

  • Holy dang Cannoli that was great!!

by Lil Sexy on 5/17/24Hayden Homes Amphitheater - BendRating: 5 out of 5

Best show I’ve been to. Super professional, super put together, felt like I was on the super-dooper looper! There to listen to music and that is all they did! No riff-raff and dilly dally-ing even though I love doing that. Wooo!!

  • Great!

Show was amazing, sound was solid, venue was clean, well organized, everyone was kind, and happy. What a great experience!! Looking forward to more shows this summer

  • Great show but started very late.

by Gary G on 5/17/24Hayden Homes Amphitheater - BendRating: 4 out of 5

The show was well produced and well staffed, but it was supposed to start at 7:00 as per on-line information. It started at 8:00. That is an hour late and completely unacceptable.

  • Great show, good energy.

Nice show, nice pre NYE eve energy -- the opener was a little silly, though. Bring earplugs :)

  • Best Concert I've Ever Been To

by DF on 1/4/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

LCD Soundsystem absolutely killed it. Overwhelmingly fantastic live. The title says it all really.

  • Great time, awesome show but not favorite venue

by JC on 1/4/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

LCD is one of my favorites to see live. Definitely highly recommended to see them. They put on an awesome show. High energy, dancible and wish the show lasted another 2 hours. It was a great event filled with happy people with no issues, which is awesome for a NYE show, my first time foraying into the public on amatuer night in almost a decade. Do it again in a heartbeat, gladly. But the venue can be acoustically muddled. It did not take away from the enjoyment being a NYE show, but the sound at the show 6 months ago at the Frost Ampitheater, Stanford was superior.

  • Absolutely bloody amazing

  • LCD Soundsystem NYE

by Nik on 1/3/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

LCD Soundsystem on NYE was the ultimate. Over 7,000 people singing and dancing along together. The band were tight and sounded so good. James Murphys voice excelled. What a way to start the year. Insane.

  • First-rate show

  • They ruled per usual.

The show was great. I’ve seen these guys many times and it was one of the best sets I’ve seen from them. Also, as a middle aged man, any venue with seats has my approval.

  • Kickass

by KK on 1/2/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

One of the most exciting, energetic and sexy shows I seen in a while.

  • Band great, venue awful

by Red on 1/2/24Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was oversold and too hot. People were passing out and having medical emergencies. I've been to sold out shows at Bill Graham Civic before, but I would say this was 30% more crowded.
