LCD SOUNDSYSTEM IN CONCERT:

Back in the early '00s fans fell hard and fast for the funky electronica and rebellious rock and roll spirit LCD Soundsystem brought to their superb albums and killer live shows. The fun ended in 2011 when the band hung up their guitars and unplugged their drum machines, but not all was lost—legendary frontman James Murphy announced a reunion in 2015, and fans can't wait for LCD to blast some seriously funky stuff when they return to the stage. With headlining sets at several world-class festivals slated for 2016, the band has fans chomping at the bit to dance the night away to favorites like “Losing My Edge”, “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House”, and “North American Scum”. LCD Soundsystem is sure to deliver the party-worthy passion that ticket buyers love to feel on the dance floor, and fans can't wait for their epic comeback party.

BACKFROUND SNAPSHOT:

James Murphy bounced around the NYC music scene for more than a decade before gaining traction with the DJ project Death from Above, which saw him spinning everything from Daft Punk to Can. After seeing a younger DJ aping his unique mixes, he was inspired to write the snarky, humorous “Losing My Edge” in 2002 and LCD Soundsystem was born. He continued to cut successful singles and assembled a group of musicians to recreate his songs in a live setting, a move that thrilling both indie rockers and underground dance fans. Murphy's underground fame soon gave way to crossover success—the band's 2005 self-titled debut and 2007 album Sound of Silver both received Grammy nominations for Best Electronica/Dance Album. After the release of their 2010 album This Is Happening, Murphy decided to step out of the limelight and announced the group’s final show the following year. The hiatus only lasted four years, as the songwriter posted a heartfelt letter to his fans in 2015 telling them he had come up with a wealth of new material and decided that his former band would be the best outlet for it. With LCD Soundsystem headlining major festivals like Coachella in 2016, fans can’t wait to pick up where this dance party left off.

  • Great energy!

by Garett G on 5/28/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

LCD didn't disappoint with the energy! They played tons of songs I knew and encored with all the big hits. We danced almost all night. I was, however, disappointed with the sound of Aragon Ballroom. They lyrics were hard to hear and lacked clarity.

  • Great band, lousy event

by Dave S on 5/28/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

    1) Aragon Ballroom is among my least favorite concert venues in town. It’s a lovely space but clearly designed for balls, not concerts. The pillars obstruct sight lines if you want to get off the too-crowded dance floor. 2) the doors opened at 7:00. The tickets said showtime was 8:00. The band took the stage at 9:15. When I got there at 7:30 there was no line to get in. My pal told me the line was around the corner on Broadway at 8:45. Is that why the show started so late? To accompany people showing up late? 3) the audience sucked. Among the most entitled and least considerate group of tall men in tech-bro outfits. There really should be a “girls to the front” rule. LCD Soundsystem were great, but I left after an hour because hell is other people.

  • Oversold show

by CK on 5/28/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

Way oversold show for the venue. Worst experience at the Aragon. Could not see any of the show since it was so packed. Could barely get a drink by the front bar since fans were almost at the bar just trying to see.

  • The Aragon is horrible

by AjLit on 5/27/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

I love LCD Soundsystem, but the Aragon is an awful place to see a show. I almost didn’t go because of that. Sound quality stinks as do viewing sight lines. It’s really a garbage venue.

  • Danced Myself Clean

by Toiale on 5/27/24Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. I can't believe they did four nights in a row of that. I loved every bit of it, and I'll definitely see them in concert again!

  • Fantastic

by Veanne on 5/27/24Armory - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Best band in the best room - best show I’ve ever seen

  • Amazing show and venue!

by MarkBorchert on 5/25/24Armory - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Bucket list band for me! Amazing venue for general admission ticket holders. The entire crowd was so into the band. Amazing lights and sound that literally knocked you back a step on occasion.

  • Best Show I’ve Ever Attended

by David on 5/25/24Armory - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Yes. This is the best show I’ve been to. Amazing performance, setlist, and venue.

  • Pre-set blues

by Parteralisa on 5/25/24Armory - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

LCD performed better than I expected. However, they don't take the stage until 3 hours after doors. Meanwhile we had to suffer through 2h45m of the most boring and mindnumbing DJ music ever. Website and emails sent the day of gig said doors at 6, music at 730, so all 5000 fans were ready by then but had to stand in a crowd for 1h15m more. I saw people pass out and others get sloppily drunk. It was not a good experience and I doubt I would see LCD again, even though I love their music.

  • Amazing performance. Sound quality of the vocals not great.

by Ccaustin on 5/23/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the event. Stellar performance. Shame that the sound of the vocals was not optimal. Could not hear much of the lyrics or when Mr Murphy was chatting with the audience.

  • Amazing

    by D Rolfsen on 5/22/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best stage shows Ive seen. LCD SS are incredible, I have few words that could explain how great a show this was. Thank you James and gang!

  • Amazing

by Bubbles on 5/22/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show! It was the last if 4 shows they played in Seattle and they still had so much energy. Sound was amazing and all the musicians seemed to be having a blast. Definitely worth the price.

  • Dance dance dance

by Dance dance dance on 5/22/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was everything that I wanted it to be- over 2 hrs of just musical good times! Sound was but muddy when James was speaking but otherwise great time!

  • One of the Greatest Shows I've been to

by Beans on 5/22/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Theatre was great and well-run, although drinks could have been more reasonably priced. LCD was unbelievable. See them if you ever get the chance. See them.

  • I want to keep dancing!

by AmyG on 5/22/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This show was everything. We went multiple nights and a different show every night. Only regret is we didn’t go to every show. I wish every night was a LCD night.

  • Awesome!

    by B33Hive on 5/21/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Just awesome! Band was amazing and venue layout and acoustics were stellar. Communication regarding seating options could have been better up front, as was unclear what seat options (if any) were available.

  • I can die happy

by Sean on 5/21/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

LCD is a must see experience for even the casual fan. They’ve been my favorite band for 15 years and this is the first time I’ve seen them. Mind blowing

  • Bad sound

by Chuck on 5/21/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 3 out of 5

Good show love the band… good playlist… sound was brutal

  • State of euphoria

    by Lady M. on 5/20/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

It was everything I imagined it would be, the band was tight and gave us everything on the second night. I was in a state of euphoria as was everyone around me ( no I was not on anything) If you are a fan, try to catch this tour, it will stay with you.

  • Absolutely Incredible

by MoosiferX on 5/20/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

One of if not THE best shows I've ever be to. Lived up to my very high expectations.
