Larry the Cable Guy brings a hilarity to stand up comedy that most people simply aren’t used to. His southern accent, which he admittedly exaggerates, gives blue collar individuals and everyone else alike a way to relate to this hilarious funnyman. After getting his start by making guest appearances on radio shows, he gained quick fame on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Jeff Foxworthy, the comedian of “You might be a redneck” fame. Larry went on to have two comedy albums receive gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.
Those two albums, though, were not even close to the end of his story. Larry the Cable Guy, who has never actually been a cable guy, went on to get roasted on Comedy Central; and once a celebrity has made it to Comedy Central Roast status, it’s obvious to anyone who had tickets or watched the show that the star really “made it”. Fortunately for the redneck hero, this roast didn’t signify the end of a long career like it usually does for others.
In fact, the loveable sleeveless shirt wearing comedian gained his own show, Only in America, on the History Channel. He was even allowed into the White House’s War Room during filming of the show. What makes this story even more amazing is his actual humble beginnings; since it may have been difficult for anyone to guess that a little boy raised on a pig farm in Nebraska would one day grow up to be Larry the Cable Guy. As it turns out, however, that little farm boy really knew how to “Git-R-Done”.
Even with a sometimes busy schedule involving filming for the History Channel, Larry still finds time to tour around the country to let his fans know he loves them. Even children love the shows since the unlikely star lent his voice to Mater on the Pixar movie Cars. And for those who miss Larry in concert halls on the big screen, the December 2013 release of A Madea Christmas will undoubtedly be exciting. As Larry likes to say, “I don’t care who ya are, that’s funny right there”.
Very good show. Love Larry the Cable Guy!!! Would definitely buy tickets to see him again.
Tears rolled down my face, gut hurt. Absolutely hilarious, still. He still has it after all these years. A great performance.
Leading up to this show I had a few doubts. With the fame and recognition Larry the Cable Guy has achieved through “Got-er-done” and playing Mater, it would be very easy to “phone it in” so to speak. So Larry comes out, almost no voice, and asks everyone to forgive him but he has only cancelled 1 show in 30+ years and wasn’t about to start now. Well, I was completely wrong for even considering that Larry would lean on his achievements. He was hilarious! Apologies for even allowing those “phone it in” thoughts happen. Thank you for making this a night we will reminisce for years to come!!!
Disappointed, value of the money wasn’t there. Larry had an opening act then he came out. Total show was 1-1/2 hours, about 20-30 minutes for the opening and about an hour for Larry. If you google how long Larry’s shows are they say 1-1/2 to 3 hours and we only got an 1 hour. Concerts normally go to 10:30 - 11 at Rama and this ended at 9:30
Larry’s opening comic was good, Larry’s show was excellent considering that he was fighting a sore throat and having problems with his voice. A lot of shows would have been canceled I. Instead Larry the Cable Guy performed doing a great job, I can only hope that one day I will get to see his show when he is in great health.
I loved him! I laughed the entire show. My face hurt from laughing so much.
The opener, who has appeared on the Dry Bar Comedy show, was good. Larry had laryngitis, you could not hear him well, he did not put much effort into being entertaining, just told some stories about his life and is riding out this tour on his reputation. Saw him many years ago when he toured with Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall when he was still trying. His performance was much better in the past.
This is the 2nd time I have seen Larry the Cable Guy and my husbands 3rd time. He never disappoints. Great show even with a sore throat he was great!
If larry was feeling better, it would have been a better show. I'm sorry that it wasn't feeling good but I feel as though we were sure changed
Loved the show!! Larry is so funny !! He’s one of the best comediennes !
Saw him back in 2002ish and he is still just as funny. Had lots of new jokes I hadn't heard before. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic Show! Very grateful to have Larry the Cable Guy at Packard Music Hall!! He was absolutely hilarious! Hope to see him again!
We were very excited to enjoy an evening out and be entertained by Larry the Cable Guy. The ticket purchase was $130 for the two of us and although I thought it was a little pricey, I’m happy to pay for quality entertainment. Upon arriving, we sat in our balcony seats and were quite pleased with the view. However, when the opening act came on, my husband and I and everyone within our section realized quickly that we were unable to hear ANYTHING from the performer. My husband pointed out that the speakers above the stage were pointed straight on…which should have been a red flag. We held out and waited for Larry the Cable Guy to come out, in hopes that his sound may be better. He came on stage and immediately we knew we were doomed. He advised that his voice was mostly gone…that on top of the terrible sound system..we heard muffled noise. It took about 5 minutes before we started to hear others across the way in the balcony section yell out that they could not hear. The comedian said “sorry about that” and continued on. Ten minutes into the show, the entire section of the balcony, including ourselves got up and either moved elsewhere or left the building. We opted to stand against the wall in the lower back and we could now hear, but we’re scolded by workers to “please sit in our seats”. We advised them that we could not hear in the balcony area and they advised that “it is a fire hazard for you to continue to stand here”. At that point we left the building. Very disappointed. We will never attend an event at WD Packard Music Hall in Warren, Ohio ever again.
A waste of money. Larry lost his voice and you could barely hear him. We did not get the show we paid for. He should of cancelled or rescheduled !! Very disappointed!!
Have always been huge fans of Larry the cable guy, but I’ve never seen him in person… unfortunately, his laryngitis made it more difficult to hear and slightly less enjoyable. Paid decent amount for the tickets!
Unfortunately we could not hear well....Larry was losing his voice and so we missed quite a bit. Also, the audience was extremely rude....yelling out to him. Venue was OK....
I have never laughed do hard in my life!! Worth every penny!!
He is still so funny. Venue wasn't the greatest though.
Larry the Cable Guy was the best. I could sit for days listening to him. His performance was absolutely outstanding. Would love to have him. One back locally because I would put base tickets for him again and again. I needed the laughter. He kept you on your toes. Best performance ever. Thank you Larry the Cable Guy.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Had a blast. All three guys made me laugh a lot. They was awesome to hear.
