I was a fan of their music and had missed them when they performed in the US before. But I was not going to miss them in the Garden. Never having actually seen them perform I didn't know what to expect of a live performance. But I was absolutely enthralled! They incorporated everything from high tech effects on giant screens behind the stage to pyrotechnics and full on flame jets. But the show wasn't all flash. The show had its intimate moments. One of the most powerful was where the stage went bare leaving only a darkened screen with words projected on it which the crowd sang and swayed in unison. The band had a fantastic rapport with the crowd. Hyde with his flirtations and energetic, serpentine performance. Ken and Yuki's moment in the spotlight recounting adventures in NYC. And Tetsuya's playful and raunchy antics where he tossed candy and bananas out to the crowd. But despite all the big personalities the music was always the star. These guys are not just pretty faces. They are talented, polished musicians and the songs did not lose potency played live. They even gained immediacy and impact with hyde's huge voice and Ken's stirring guitar. 'Ready. Steady, Go!' was an explosion of sound and energy! The show ended with the band performing under a shower of feathers. It was an ethereal and moving moment. And I know the next time they are in the US, I will be there to see them. I desperately hope they come back to the Garden. But I'd lalso ove to see what they can do with an even bigger arena.
I've been waiting for this concert since 2005, finally they came to NY again <3 I just love them!!
This was my first time at MSG and I must say this was the best venue I ever been too for the best show! L'arc-en-ciel, I'm so proud of them! They blew the roof! Took concerts to a whole new lovely of awesomeness :) Also they are the first Japanese band to play at MSG! I am so proud to have been a part of that! L'arc you ROCK FOREVER! Come back an see us soon!!!! :)
I've been a fan for 10 years, and they really matched my high expectations in terms of musicality, stage presence, and WOW factor.
Such an amazing experience! This is my 4th L'Arc~en~Ciel concert while the 1st one in the States. Definitely the most memorable performance because they made their way to MSG! The show itself and the stage effects were both excellent.
It was fantastic!! All kinds of people were at the concert and everybody seemed to be having a great time. All I hope is they will come back soon!
L'Arc en Ciel doing what they do best, that's the easiest way to sum it up.
Was really happy how the concert for L'Arc en Ciel turned out. The stadium was beautiful & very spacious. I had really good seats & got to witness all angles of them on stage. It was really an honor to see them in NYC & I think the stadium really did them justice in making this concert more amazing then I ever imagined.
It was the best concert ever!!! I love them. Their performances and the audience rocked!!!
L'arc-en-ciel doesn't fail to bring the house down, and bring the house down is just what they did! They started out with a video of the band on the large screens as if they were in outer Space. Hyde, the lead vocalist, held a blue butterfly, (the name of their new album is Butterfly), in his hand, and let it go. Then the cameras follow the buttetfly through a maze, then Hyde punches the screen, and it cracks, then show begins! It was one wild ride! There were pyrotechnics, fireworks, and a light show! But Hyde's beautiful voice was definitely the highlight of the show, not to mention how great all the band members played! The band attracted people of all races, ages and walks of life. They even had the crowd singing in Japanese! Hyde put the chrous of Anata up on the screen so that everyone could sing it together.
It was AWSOME!!!!! I think it had better situation after hyde's first break. And the last part is really really nice! I I LOVE IT!!!!
I have seen them when they first came to America in 2004. It is a blessing to see them again in this year 2012 and you can tell they did their all in their performance. The graphics, the lights, the effects, and their performers is AMAZING!!! Even the energy of the fans was amazing experience. I want them to come back to Madison Square Garden again! It would be awesome as well, if this concert was shown on America television station like Fuse (not too late at night or too early for no one to see them). This is the band should perform and should be popular of not just in Japan or America but the whole world. Not if...when they come back....I will sit in the front row. Thank you for such a great experience L'Arc~en~Ciel and thank you Madison Square Garden for allowing them to give their all for us to enjoy. ^_^
On that night, i was in the presence of my own gods. My vision blurred, face flushed with warmth; knowing that their eyes were always on me. This night will always bring me to nostalgia.
This concert was without a doubt the best concert I have ever attended. The lights and the super huge screens were totally amazing but the sound (you could actually hear Hyde) was awesome!! This concert ROCKED!!!!!
The concert was amazing and almost unreal. I didn't think I'd get to see L'arc, and in Madison Square Garden! It was truly an amazing thing that I'm so happy happened <3
So many of us have been waiting for L'Arc~en~Ciel to hit the states, particularly after their appearance at Otakon. This concert was unlike any other, and it's definitely going to be hard to top. The language barrier was not an issue at all, and their attempts to speak to the audience were positively charming. They're absolutely amazing live. No words could come close to describing just how mind-blowing the event was.
Hyde's vocals were perfect. He engaged the crowd. And they kept the party going. Some funny moments like when Ken was reading from his paper but they seemed so grateful to be here. All the band members gave a top notch performance. Theyre performance was excellent for long time fans and newbies alike. I hope I am lucky enough to see them again before they finally call it quits.
L'arc~en~Ciel performance was perfect, incredible, amazing and super energetic! It's been several years since I craved to watch L'arc perform live and it was worth the wait. Hearing Hyde singing live brought tears to my eyes... Simply the best show ever!
From start to finish this was an amazing show. The group seemed tireless and I only wish that it could have lasted longer (how do you cover a 20 year career in two and a half hours?!) My friends and I were up and dancing from the get-go, supercharged, energized. When they come again (because I believe they will) I will be there in a flash!
