  • Voice was so smooth

    by the1gen on 8/8/11Riverfest Amphitheatre - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

The Voice was sooooooo smooth, Overall - she was great. Her voice was so smooth, and her backup singers could put some of the singers out there today, to shame....They support Lalah voice well...and I love evey moment!!

  • LALAH LALAH LALAH!!

    by tlw12011 on 8/8/11Riverfest Amphitheatre - Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

iT WAS AMAZING, THE ONLY REASON I DIDN'T GIVE IT 5 STARS IS BECAUSE OF THE VENUE BEING OUTSIDE. THE HEAT WAS TERRIBLE, BUT THE OPENING ACT(S) WERE GREAT. MS,. HATHAWAY WAS EXCELLENT AND SHE IS NOT BEING GIVEN THE CREDIT SHE DESERVES. SHE IS WONDERFUL AND HER VOICE CAN SOOTHE YOUR SOUL. WOULD DO IT AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT!

  • Lalah was Shocking!

by Natalyn on 8/8/11Riverfest Amphitheatre - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this show was electric! Everyone in her band has exceptional talent and no one's afraid to share the spotlight! The tickets were inexpensive and the show was worth far more than the money!

  • Pure Delight!

    by Jdub12 on 8/8/11Riverfest Amphitheatre - Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Lalah in concert, and she was amazing! She displayed her soulful talent, grace, humor, and endurance in the Arkansas heat. The vibe was electric-- a purely delightful experience!

  • Best show ever

    by James1967 on 7/25/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Band was off the hook and the setting was great and Lalah was amazing. If you did not get tickets this time you miss a great show.

  • Lalah Hathaway

by Mizmiko on 7/25/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Although hot and sticky and bugs flying around the show was Phenomenal. Even when a over excited fan jumped the stage. Mike was a wonderful opening act. Lots of fun and good music.

  • SURPRISINGLY BORING

by SOULMUSIQ on 7/24/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

I went to the Lalah Hathaway & Mike Phillips concert in Detroit on 07-20-11. Mike Phillips, who opened for Lalah gave an excellent performance. However, I had been anticipating Lalah for a really long time, & she sounded spectacular; but had no stage presence. She gave a very boring performance, & seemed very disengaged. She didn't sing two of her most popular songs (Heaven Knows & That Was Then), which was very disappointing. Her voice sounded excellent, her show was just really a boring disappointment. Apparently others felt the same way, because hundreds of people, started leaving mid-show.

  • Mike Phillips's performance was sensational !

    by PSALMS2714 on 7/24/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I felt this has by far been the best concert at Chene park of the year, 2011. Lalah Hathaway was fabulous and she had a guitar player that was off the CHARTS, Mike Phillips stole the show by coming into the audience and performing in the stands for an up close and personal performance. Side note, I came over from Chicago, IL just for Mike Phillip's performance.

  • Lalah was on fire

by AALGEE on 7/24/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

This was music at its best. Mike Philips was unreal, Lalah hathaway was SPECIAL her voice is so pure. She sings so effortlessly, what a talent.

  • Lalah, Lalah, Lalah

by MylasttriptotheJoe on 7/23/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

This artist is one of my favorites and I really love her style. Inspite of the heat in Detroit. It was at a record high of 98 degrees (at night!) her performance was wonderful and fluid. She sang in a beautiful flowing dress and no shoes! She sung alot of her oldies and new songs that are coming out on her new CD. Her special guest Mike Phillips was full of energy and really got the audience involved in his set. I will look him up as an artist just by his perfomance alone. There was one incident were some crazy lady got on stage and got in Lalah's face but her back up singer and security came to her rescue. I would recommend her highly! She sounds the same on her CDs as she does in person. Love that! Her band was great and her guitar player was mind-blowing. Great concert!

  • Lalah was Awesome...

It was a good concert. the sound was kind of off, but you could still see the talent displayed. It was enjoyable!

by Shanothappy on 7/22/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Simply the best!! 5 Star quality. My husband was on his feet all night. Mike Phillips was amazing!! This was one of the best concerts at a great Venue.

  • Lalah's voice is a gift that must be experienced!!

Worth the money. Lalah is a must see. A buttery smooth vocalist...

  • Lalah Was Awesome

by ironduke on 7/22/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Lalah is always awesome, but this was an extra special performance. The only bad part was when a crazy lady walked on stage and tried to hug Lalah.

  • What a voice!

by Djenglish on 7/22/11Chene Park - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

Excellent show. Lalah has a beautiful voice without all the techno sound equipment. One of a kind! I felt her opening act M. Phillips performed about 20-25 min too long. Would have like Lalah to fill that time. The only disappointment is that Ms Hathaway did not introduce her band or do an encore. This is only reason I give 4 out 5 stars. Can't wait for new albulm!

  • guitar solo was outstanding
