LA OREJA DE VAN GOGH IN CONCERT:
Spanish indie pop outfit La Oreja de Van Gogh has been winning over fans around the world with their romantic songwriting and dreamy live shows for the past two decades. In concert frontwoman Leire MartĂnez delivers her poetic lyrics with infectious warmth, radiating passion and emotion as she casts an amorous spell over the crowd with her rich, powerful voice. MartĂnez competed in the Spanish version of reality talent competition The X Factor before replacing former La Oreja de Van Gogh singer Amaia Montero in 2008, and the impressive performance chops she brings to the table have enhanced the band's live shows ever since. As MartĂnez works her magic, the rest of the band sets an uplifting mood with energetic bass, guitar, keys, and drums. The result is a stirring set of Spanish-language pop ballads that transcend language barriers and appeal directly to the heart.Â
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
La Oreja de Van Gogh was formed in 1998 by four college students from San SebastiĂĄn, Spain. After cutting their teeth playing covers of bands like U2 and Nirvana, they started penning their own songs and won a local pop music contest. The prize was studio time to record a four-song EP, and the resulting collection garnered the attention of Sony Music. The band made their debut on the label in 1998 with Dile al Sol, a Spanish chart hit that ultimately sold more than 800,000 copies. Their rise continued with the albums El Viaje de Copperpot (2000) and Lo Que Te ContĂŠ Mientras Te HacĂas La Dormida (2003), both of which sold more than two million copies worldwide thanks to international hits like "Rosas" and "La Playa." In 2006 the band won a Latin Grammy for Best Pop Album by a Duo or Group for their album Guapa, but the following year original frontwoman Amaia Montero left to pursue a solo career. Leire MartĂnez stepped in to fill her shoes in 2008, making her recording debut with the band later that year on the album A Las Cinco en el Astoria. Since then the new lineup has continued to tour the world, proving they're as fantastic as ever with MartĂnez on board.

Seeing them live was cool me and my party were having a great time but the people around us where just talking so the vibe we had was a little off but LODVG was great wish the acoustics wheRe better too
La Oreja de Van Gogh gave an awesome show. Very talented musicians and singer. This was the best LIVE concert that I've attended.
I grew up listening to La Oreja De Van Gogh in the early 2000s. My mom introduced me this group, I have many memories growing up and signing Rosas and La Playa by LODVG with my mom. I am now 21 and bought tickets to surprise my mom with them. It was my moms first concert and Iâm so happy with the experience.
The concert was amazing, LOVG sounds phenomenal. Im glad we were able to make it since it was a week day
LOdVG is well known and loved around the world. The location, acoustics, environment were very good. The group is great and the show was very entertaining. We just have a recommendation for the group: in many of their songs, the music and sounds outshined the wonderful voice of the singer; we are not musicians or experts, yet it would have been nice to actually hear the singer's voice over the musical instruments.
This is my favorite band and I've been waiting forever to see them! Wonderful performance! They sound just as amazing in person. True performers, they didn't bat an eye or missed a beat when someone threw ice on the stage or when a guy jumped on the stage for a selfie. Can't wait til they come back to the US!
One of the best shows Iâve watched in my life. Top 3 for sure. The musicians are spectacular. Leire performs flawlessly. The energy is amazing. Simply amazing.
Always a pleasure to see LOVG. They truly put everything in theyâve got into their performance and it shows. They sound awesome. Leire belts out tune after tune and constantly interacts with the audience that sings along to every song. Already look8ng forward to seeing the act again when they come back to the States.
They did all their hits and more, I left with more new songs to enjoy. Truly talented musicians and Leireâs voice was smooth and magical live.
The concert was amazing! It was my first time on first row ever! The lead singer (Leire) was engaging with me and other people aroung all the time. I loved them! And definitely purchasing again 1st row for their next concert in Mcallen. Brutales!!!!
Very content with the venue. The tickets we bought were the lower priced so they were really high but we still had a great experience. Definitely coming back for a future event.

We were very excited and surprised to hear that LOVG had decided to include Denver as one of their stops in their "Un Susurro en La Tormenta" Tour. However, due to the pandemic we waited 18 months for this show. In the end though, the band really made up for the wait. Lasting about 1:45 minutes with two planned encores and an unplanned third one, the band continuously engaged with the audience and played a great selection of old favorites and new material. Throughout the entire show, Leire Martinez, the lead singer, provided background on the songs and displayed true thankfulness towards the audience for the enthusiasm and support they gave the band during the show and in general. For their part, the rest of the band showed the same appreciation and displayed true joy in their ability to perform for the audience. They weren't simply going through the motions, but instead enjoying the time they had with each other and the audience. This was the band's first visit to Denver and they provided a great experience that hopefully, they will repeat soon. I would highly encourage anybody to attend one of their shows if there's a chance to catch them on their current North American tour. The Summit in Denver provided a great venue for the show. There was about 900 people there which gave the show a very personal and up close feel. We could easily see the entire band and the sound was rich and just the right level to make you feel the music without being overpowering. The premises were clean and well maintained. The entrance process was smooth and trouble free. Would definitely attend other shows at this venue.
