LA Galaxy History
The LA Galaxy have been playing since Major League Soccer launched in 1996. After topping the Western Conference in the league’s inaugural season, the Galaxy led the conference twice more before they clinched their first MLS Cup in 2002 against the New England Revolution. History would repeat itself in 2005, when they emerged victorious over the Revolution for their second MLS Cup.
From 2007 to 2012, British football legend David Beckham joined the Galaxy, and in short order, pushed the club to two MLS Cup victories, in 2011 and 2012. Even after Beckham's departure, the Galaxy continued to shine. After winning the Cup over the Revolution again in 2014, the Galaxy became the first team in the league to nab the championship five times. The Galaxy furthered their league championship record with a sixth MLS Cup win in 2024. Overall, the LA Galaxy have earned four Supporters’ Shields, two U.S. Open Cup titles and the 2000 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Among the Galaxy’s alumni are three MLS MVP winners: Carlos Ruiz (2002), Landon Donovan (2009) and Robbie Keane (2014). In 2015, the award was renamed the Landon Donovan MVP Award to honor the decorated All-Star midfielder’s career. Donovan also earned the Golden Boot as the league’s leading scorer in 2008.
In 2023, the Galaxy helped set the MLS single match attendance record at 82,110 in an annual "El Tráfico" rivalry match against Los Angeles FC at the Rose Bowl on July 4.

LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park
The LA Galaxy played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California between 1996 and 2002 but moved to their permanent home pitch at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson ahead of the 2003 MLS season. Located on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills, Dignity Health Sports Park is the second largest soccer-specific stadium in the U.S. and has previously hosted MLS’ Chivas USA, the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers and the XFL’s Los Angeles Wildcats. With a capacity of 27,000, the stadium environment always remains lively, especially with the backing of the LA Galaxy supporters clubs(Opens in new tab).

The sits were awesome. Security was on top of their duties and the crowds were amazing. By far the best event I've ever attended.
I believe that when a sport gets advertised and specifically say that a player will be playing. That player should of played. It was a great event! But I went to see this player Javier Hernandez and he was not on field. :(
Awesome seats to view my favorite team (Manchester United)! Great experience :)
Had an awesome time watching the soccer game with my favorite team
It's the most expensive parking I've payed for to be so awfully disorganized... It took 2 hours just to get in... I only got to see 8 minute of a game I payed 100 dollars for.... Never again will I go to an event to the rose bowl
Five members of our family attended the Chevrolet Cup game and none of us will go back next year. A week night is an impossible time to go to a game that starts at 8 pm. We left our home at 5:15 pm and arrived at Lot I parking lot at 7:35 pm. There was no traffic control getting into the Rose Bowl and it took forever to get to the parking lots. Parking tickets should have been sold at the time we purchased our seat tickets. The parking attendants did not do a good job getting the cars into the lots and collecting the money. The process was extremely slow. It was fun to see the crowd and we enjoyed the game but have the feeling that LA Galaxy didn't come to play hard. They didn't put out the effort that we expected.
LA Galaxy was no match for Man U. Man U gave them a 7-0 spanking.
my 13 yr. old daughter plays competitive soccer in Las Vegas, My wife LOVES soccer,, we drove out from Vegas to the event that day and parking was excellent, crowd under control, fans were great and of course? the game? absolutely fantastic,, glad we could attend this once in a lifetime event
Shame that the Galaxy didn't want to play this game between two more important MLS scheduled games in the heat of a playoff race. That was the bad part. The good part was the pre-game experience, aka Fan Fest. Kudos to Chevrolet for giving us a good time with lots of freebies and photo opps! The game itself was lame, would have left after 30 minutes if not for how much we paid for the tickets. Could have been a closer contest if the Galaxy cared an iota, but they didn't. Fun though, if you're a Man U loyalist, though it would be much like Alabama's annual slaughter of mighty Troy University which typically results in a 56-3 rout. Glad that Man U cared, and my memory bank will forever possess images of Wayne Rooney doing what he does so well -- play with intensity at all times! If you're the local MLS loyalist, have the right temperament going in because you will not like the lopsidedness of those sitting in the seats, 90 percent of whom will be cheering for the invaders and (pathetic) booing the home team. Necessary? not! Go Galaxy!
MUFC had tons of fans, Galaxy was basically the visiting team in their home town. Final score of 7-0 was to be expected. The Rose Bowl however was greedy and horrible! Ushers were rude, cost of parking was astronomically high. 30 bucks to park in the boonies, and the outrageous cost of food and drinks was shameful! 6 dollars for a bottle of water and 12 dollars for 2 tacos. Really? That place has gotten really bad. Game was fun, venue was a disgrace! Rose bowl used to be awesome, but no longer the case
First of all, I got to Pasadena around 5:30pm so I would have plenty of time to grab a bite to eat and get to the game on time! We got on the 210 and just as we were about to exit, CHP shut down the off ramp. It took us 2 hours to go 1 mile to the next ext. Reason being, there was no traffic control on the bottom of that ramp so cars were waiting at the intersection for the red light to cycle. Absolutely ridiculous. Once in line to park, that was another 30 minutes. I had read online they started the game 30 minutes late, probably to allow fans to get in because of the poor traffic situation! $30 later we parked, about a mile walk from the stadium! We got in about 10 minutes into the second half. There was absolutely nowhere to sit in the general seating where our tickets where located. I was even told by an usher that this event was way overbooked and if I could, try to sneak to an assigned seating area where there were seats visible. All in all, worst sporting event experience ever, and I attend A LOT of professional sporting events annually! Never again at the Rose Bowl.
Great game, very exciting and also very well organised. However I'm not sure a lot of the American fans (me being british) understood how football works. 90 minutes of intense consistent sport seemed alien to 50% of the 90,000 fans who insisted on getting up every five minutes to get hotdogs and take photos whilst blocking everyone's view. Strange and annoying. Enjoyed it nonetheless.
Better parking would be great. Your beer selection was poor, expensive and nothing better than a warm beer on a hot day! You can do much better.
I have been to old Trafford but this event was out of this world. The crowd was awesome and friendly. My wife and I were on holiday and decided we , would Like to see man u play lagalaxy . We were pleasantly surprised to see both fans seating together. This you could not do back home. But the atmosphere was brilliant and the venue great.
The parking took so long that we missed the first half
Horrible experience for any Galaxy fan. This showcase was for Man Utd. Like going to a Harlem Globetrotters game I suppose. A lose-lose situation. Does not help that some Man U fans were downright unruly and vulgar….with kids all around them. Understand its ok to be boisterous if it was a real game. As a 'friendly' you'd think it was somewhat advertised as it being family friendly.
That game was one of the worst experiences of my life. I've been to dozens of football games as a fan of the Galaxy, even when they used to call the Rose Bowl their home. It's always been a pleasant time, particularly at the Stub Hub Center. However, for this event at the Rose Bowl I feel it must have been organized by a sociopath. It took over an hour and a half from the freeway exit to the parking. When we finally got there, we had to pay $30 to park in a golf course on the furthest end (Lot 8), and I had to walk thirty minutes on my fractured ankle to our seats. We got in right at half time, to find the score was 3-0 and all of the stars had already been substituted off the pitch. Can I mention that the game had already been delayed 30 minutes, and we STILL got there at halftime! We watched the rest of the game, which was very lethargic and unmotivated, saw four more embarrassing goals against my Galaxy team, and then made the thirty minute treck back to the car. We got home (burbank) another hour later thanks to the wonderful traffic getting out of the pasadena area. Not to mention the $90 price tag on EACH of the four tickets. We're talking about $400 for the biggest waste of time I've had in recent memory. I Should definitely get a refund, at least half of the ticket price seeing as how we only got to see half the game.
Good service well organized and a fun time for all.
Best day ever. Got to see my favorite team in the world play here. What more did u need. Seats were really close to eachother not really leg room
Do not buy any seats at ground level. Behind the goal. there is no way to see the game. Ground level. There is no view from these seats. It is not possible to see the action. Do not buy seats here, especially families with small children.
