OK this was a sick show, KRS1 was on point as usual but this was a great performance, the sound system kicked @$$ and the venue really is a great place to see a show.

    KRS1 is still the teacher!

by JeanGrey on 7/14/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

My mind was blown! I've been a fan since BDP and have followed him ever since. Unfortunately this is the first time I was ever able to see live. I can't believe that I'd missed out on such a spectacular performer. His wealth of knowledge and ability to convey his message to the crowd was amazing! The crowd hung on to his every word. His rant on technology was enlightening to say the least. His performance was everything I had anticipated and more! I will definitely keep watch for his next Boston appearance, because I will be front and center!

    KRS-One - truly the Teacha

by BGirlDivaV on 7/13/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I am a big KRS-One fan and have been listening to him since 1986. At eleven years old I could recite the "By All Means Necessary" album by heart. I was super excited to see him live and he did not dissapoint. The man has still got it, whether mainstream knows it or not. His performance was amazing --energetic, insightful and fun! The dancers were very entertaining as well.

KRS-ONE is brilliant. He is a master of Hip-Hop and has sacrificed his ranking in popularity to be the greatest emcee ever.

Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everybody

by TheTreeMAn on 7/11/11Wilbur Theatre Boston - Boston

Big hip hop guy but i gota admit, alot of hip hop concerts i go to dont sound nearly as good as the cd thats released but KRS was perfect about how loud the music was, how much bass was pounding, and his rhyming was perfect. Hands down, best MC on the planet, freestyles with history/sociological lesson. Very inpirational. Great performance. Didnt go to the VIP cuz my moneys tight. Hip Hop Lives.

    EDUTAINMENT!

by TapTime on 7/11/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

There are very few performers , Pop, Jazz or R n B, who put on a entertaining show. They must rely on familiar radio hits to get a response from the crowd. Not KRS, a natural born MC. moves the crowd with a a mike and a DJ. I never stopped dancing ,screaming and i am 50, you would have expected that from a child at a Jbeeb concert. If he comes to your town GO! you will not be disappointed.

KRS One bringing more real hip-hop to Ma. Ridiculous freestyles. Opening acts were sub-par.

    Great Performance

by BlazeMasterwort on 7/11/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

KRS has great stage presence. He is a true MC. He preformed a nice mix of old and new stuff. A few time during the show break dancers came on stage. Wow they were really talented. Never leaving the crowd with a dull moment KRS rocked the house. We loved the show and would recommend it to any one familiar or not with KRS-ONE.

    KRS-One is keepin' it real!

by Aiche on 7/11/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

KRS-One made the event personal, inspirational, spiritual, nostalgic, energetic, empowering, and everything in between. As to be expected, everything about the event was hip hop. The tickets were inexpensive. The opening acts were local. He walked on the stage to James Brown. He had break dancers and deejaying represented. He frequently demonstrated the difference between hip hop and rapping, as well as the difference between emceeing and rapping through the use of free-styling, and also rapping over classical music as well as sounds from nature. KRS-One was sure to do all his old school hits, but mixed them well in a mash-up style so that the audience could learn the hook and participate even if they didn't come in with previous knowledge of his music. KRS-One gave ample opportunity for autographs throughout the show, including beginning it by throwing a bunch out to the crowd. I don't think anyone left without one who wanted an autograph. 30 People were able to meet Tha Teacha himself by donating to his charity, "The Temple of Hip Hop." Its requested donation $20, but any donation was accepted (again, very hip hop). KRS-One spent time with these people and networked, sincerely engaged in "doin' the work." KRS-One knows how to keep it real!

    Boston - Wilbur Theater

by Pikadon on 7/10/11The Wilbur Theater - Boston

I just came from the Krs-One show @ The Wilbur Theater. The show started on time 8:00pm. The first opening act had a good performance, although I wasn't feeling the lyrical content, The second act didn't work for the audience at all! They played live instruments, but they just didn't fit in with a Krs-One show, maybe Odd Future. The third act was G-Riot...by that time everyone wanted to see KRS, and his performance wasn't that great. Finally @ around 9:20 Dj Chubby Chub takes the stage and goes into some James Brown breakbeats...you already know KRS is in the building. Soon as KRS and his dancers came out, the audience immediately gets hype. KRS rocked till 11:00 and offered VIP passes for just $20 to support The Temple of Hip-Hop. KRS is what Hip-Hop is all about bottom line! Too be honest I was never the biggest KRS fan, but I gotta give it up the man puts on a good show!

KRS-One is an incredible performer. I saw him live for the first time when he came on stage at a Nas concert. I was blown away and couldn't wait until he came back to town. This is the best show I have ever attended. He is charismatic, smart, energetic and positive. Great vibes.
