Supreme Lyricists
by Serena M on 7/10/24Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre - MabletonRating: 4 out of 5Perfect sized venue. Great view from any seat. The lineup was a good mix of groups who all had memorable hits. It was great to hear real lyricists perform and the freestyles were an added bonus. The headliners, Kool Moe Dee, Big Daddy Kane, and KRS-One had a more polished show/presentation than some of the other acts, but Nice and Smooth really did a great job coming into the audience and moving the crowd. It was a high energy and fun concert that did a great job bringing old school hip hop back to the masses. The only reason I couldn’t go the full 5 stars is because there were no female MCs in the lineup, which seemed like a missed opportunity to me. Although, I was late and missed the first 15 minutes, so maybe I’m wrong. When I came in I could hear Dana Dane from the parking lot, but I don’t know who came before him.
