    A Star Studded, Energetic Performance

by Billy on 12/17/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

All of the acts at Almost Acoustic Christmas were great! Each act brought a unique sound that complemented the other artists. 311 stepped in to fill some big shoes and absolutely delivered!

Awesome line up and substitution :)

by Jaqbqwk on 12/17/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

We had floor tickets, lines for food and bar were minimal and service was quick. Sounds was awesome, staff was helpful. My first ‘almost’ Acoustic Xmas and I’ll be back. The only slight negative- I did not hear one acoustic song. Which I was hoping for at least one from each band.

Fun and chill... Until it wasn't

by Den on 12/14/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

The first seven bands were fantastic and the audience was so great - chill but charged and excited. I loved hearing all the young people scream for Lovejoy and Cannons, it reminded me of seeing Tears for Fears in 1992. Then the audience finally blundered in for 311 and The Offspring and they were the opposite of chill. I mean I appreciate being a fan but rocking out doesn't mean you have to start moshing in the stands and generally being jerks. It's no coincidence that Shirley Manson had to start yelling at the crowd right before 311 started. We made it through 311 but had to leave because it became just not fun. I tracked the db and The Offspring went up another 10 db for no good reason. So lesson for anyone like me - older but listens to new music - is come for the younger and up-and-coming bands, and leave before the bands whose fans haven't listened to new music since 1995.

    Almost Acoustic Christmas 2023

by Yo on 12/14/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

The show was good. Missed RHCP. 311 was good but would have preferred another band. 311 plays with Off Spring often in the OC. It’s awesome that RHCP will do a special concert This was the 1st time I’ve seen the prices go up. All seats used to be $85. Now loge was $250. But the festivities have fallen short. They used to be much more. We’re paying more so I would expect the same or more. Wish I could have afforded a shirt but not at $48!! Where were KROQ giveaways?? How about printing up some special bumper stickers! Key chains etc!!! Where were the games like when you could win a blue tooth speaker?

    Worst "Christmas"Show EVERRRRRRR!

by Ray Sly on 12/13/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

Kroq's Almost Acoustic Christmas should have been titled Almost Acoustic Almost Christmas! Other than a screen showing poorly depicted cartoon Santa pulling a banner with the upcoming band's name there were NO Christmas decorations inside the Forum. Years past they had garland, lighted Christmas trees and other holiday decorations on the stage, but NOTHING this year. Outside, the Forum had a few decorations, but nothing compared to previous shows. After headliners, Red Hot Chili Peppers, cancelled due to a band member's injury (broken finger?), they were replaced by 311 which was disappointing in comparison. BUT I still wanted to go because of the wonderful experiences I've enjoyed for so many years. But the bands just didn't seem into it, and stage lighting was dark and the bands faces could barely be seen... And I was in a very close lower section in row 2 ($$$$). I obviously wasn't the only one disappointed because the crowd just wasn't into it. People on the floor were hardly moving even to the great and popular hits that were played. From now on I'll continue with the Jingle Ball and other Christmas shows, but Kroq's AAC is on my naughty list... I mean for the price of my single ticket they could have run to a local store and bought a couple trees and lights for the stage and it would have been awesome... How can you have a Christmas show with NO TREES, NO LIGHTS, NOTHING?

    Sound Mixing issues

    by Champ311 on 12/13/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

During the 311 set something with the mixing failed and you could barely hear the vocals. It continued throughout the Offsprings set.

    these bastards deceived me

by tonnenbaum on 12/13/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

I dreamed of going to the RHCP concert. When I saw these tickets, I decided that I would pay $1200 and buy tickets from Yerevan to Los Angeles to see them live. I arrived and waited at the concert from 6pm to 10pm when the organizers announced that RHCP would not perform today. Ticketmaster refuse to return my money. This is very mean. I will never buy any tickets via this service. They don't care about costumers at all.

    Old school rules

by ShineBox on 12/13/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

This almost acoustic was not bad. I enjoyed the bands and music. The best bands that played live were the veteran bands. They were much better live than the less experienced newer bands. The best almost acoustic I went to was night 2 in 2003.

Great Show - The Forum Could Do Better

by Steve R on 12/13/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

I have been going to KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas shows since the second one in 1991 (when it stopped being acoustic) and I always enjoy this show. The line-ups are good, the show is efficient, and the bands give good performances. The Forum on the other hand could manage things a little better. For this show they gave wristbands in the morning until noon. Fortunately, I was near the Forum and able to stop by and check otherwise I would have had no idea about this - why isn't this published on the Ticketmaster information? Secondly, even with a wristband, you have to arrive three hours before showtime because they now open the terrace two hours before the doors. I understand that they are opening the terrace now for food and drink revenue and I actually find the terrace kind of nice - but rather than being able to enjoy the terrace, GA people have to spend two hours in line. What they are overlooking is that the GA people line up and then stay in line all the way until door time. So GA people like me have to get there at 2:45 to be in line before terrace time, then stand in line for two hours on the terrace before door time. Then doors open and we get our spots in GA and stand another hour - all before a show that is five hours long. Here's how to do it Forum: Announce that you will be wrist-banding and at what times on the TM reminder that we get a few days before the event. Then put up a sign on the terrace where wristband people line up. Inform people that they need to be in that line (on the terrace) 30 minutes before door time. Have staff posted at that spot 30 minutes before door time to ensure that the wristbanded people are in sequence. You should probable also have a separate queuing area for GA that are not wristbanded. That simple. This means you don't have to have someone outside the venue getting wristbanded people in order for the terrace entry and then again for the door entry. This will also allow wristbanded people to arrive any time they want to prior to the 30 mins before doors. It will also allow the wristbanded people who arrive early to enjoy themselves (and spend money) on the terrace without having to worry about managing their spot in line during the terrace time.

    KRoQ Xmas 2023

by Alvis on 12/12/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

Great night and great lineup. Just the right amount of new artists and tried and true professional's. Garbage and the Offspring killed it, but 311, the Cannons and the Bleachers were equally amazing. I miss the days of 2 acoustic xmas shows, because the Sunday one was always more chill. Watching Shirley yell at the dumbasses fightng in the crowd was awesome, and seeing how trippy Portugal the Man's set was worth the price of admission alone. Good times.

    Amazing Performance

by Jonathan Plascencia on 12/12/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

The show was amazing. All the bands gave it their all, the lineup was very diverse and perfect. It was a bummer Red Hot Chili Peppers couldnt make it but we do get a makeup show and 311 stepped up and gave a great performance. I cannot wait until next years show.

    Awful

by Mimi on 12/12/23Kia Forum - Inglewood

They sold us tickets for one thing and the concert was something totally different. Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't show up. We paid $400 to listen to some bands from London noone has heard of. and some domestic bands. All of them sounded really badly as they also had technical difficulties. You could feel the disappointment in the air. We felt tricked, fooled and lied to.
