Kroq's Almost Acoustic Christmas should have been titled Almost Acoustic Almost Christmas! Other than a screen showing poorly depicted cartoon Santa pulling a banner with the upcoming band's name there were NO Christmas decorations inside the Forum. Years past they had garland, lighted Christmas trees and other holiday decorations on the stage, but NOTHING this year. Outside, the Forum had a few decorations, but nothing compared to previous shows.
After headliners, Red Hot Chili Peppers, cancelled due to a band member's injury (broken finger?), they were replaced by 311 which was disappointing in comparison. BUT I still wanted to go because of the wonderful experiences I've enjoyed for so many years. But the bands just didn't seem into it, and stage lighting was dark and the bands faces could barely be seen... And I was in a very close lower section in row 2 ($$$$). I obviously wasn't the only one disappointed because the crowd just wasn't into it. People on the floor were hardly moving even to the great and popular hits that were played. From now on I'll continue with the Jingle Ball and other Christmas shows, but Kroq's AAC is on my naughty list... I mean for the price of my single ticket they could have run to a local store and bought a couple trees and lights for the stage and it would have been awesome... How can you have a Christmas show with NO TREES, NO LIGHTS, NOTHING?
