Kris Kristofferson on Tour
When Kris Kristofferson hits the stage, it's clear why he's become a legend of outlaw country. He plays it like he feels it — as an unfancy, master singer-songwriter, sometimes with a band and sometimes without, strumming his acoustic guitar and delivering his game-changing songs with well-weathered style. His character-rich voice lets you know he's been around the block more than once, and the songs combine a poet's command of language with a country singer's knack for putting things together organically so they go down easy. Along the way, he slips in his one-of-a-kind perspective on things. He might be unpacking the wistful romanticism of "Me and Bobby McGee" or depicting the morning-after madness of "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," but he always makes you see the world a bit differently.
Kris Kristofferson in Concert
After Kris Kristofferson first started making waves in Nashville in the late '60s, country music (and American music) was forever changed. Singer-songwriters had never written so frankly about sensuality, and country had never had its own Bob Dylan before. With Kristofferson came a glorious collision of poetry-laden lyrics and countercultural sensibilities with the attitude of rock 'n' roll and the template of classic country. Besides making waves with his own albums, he reached into our collective conscience through his songs' numerous covers, performed by artists like Janis Joplin ("Me and Bobby McGee") and Sammi Smith ("Help Me Make It Through the Night"). Before the '70s were over, his natural charisma and chiseled countenance had helped make him a movie star too, with films like Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore and A Star Is Born. Later he became a member of legendary supergroup The Highwaymen, alongside Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. As the decades passed, Kristofferson has never backed away from his commitment to write and perform to the utmost of his abilities. He's a true-blue American legend.

I have seen Kris at least 10 times. This by far was one of his best shows. Sound was great and I really enjoyed sitting in the pit
This was the ultimate Kris Kristofferson. His greatest oldies and new songs were presented only as a true ballad signer could. It was a walk down fifty years of memory lane.
Kris is a masterful wordsmith. I was in heaven listening to his lyrics.
It was an honor to witness what will logically be his “farewell tour” (83 years young). Even though his voice is clearly reflecting his age, he will always be one of the greatest song writers of our time.Thank you Kris😀
His voice is so far gone. Off key and flat most of the time. He's playing with Merle Haggard's old band. The band was good and one of the band singers did several solos that sounded great. But it's time for Kris to retire.
In the cozy atmosphere of the Barrymore Theater in Madison, Wisconsin I finally got to see & hear the iconic Kris Kristofferson!!! I absolutely Love this man, writer, musician & actor. He performed almost non stop for an hour and a half, in his low velvety voice that mesmerized me and everyone else . I loved the band The Strangers, too. They represented the great Merle Haggard and you could imagine him & Kris performing thru the years. It was an intimate meeting with a legend , that I have followed since the 1960s--------he did not disappoint.
We watched Kris Kristipherson perform at the Adler Theatre in Davenport, Iowa Nov 13. What a performance! Regardless if his age, the man sang song after song the entire performance; seemingly tireless! Although not the same strength of voice as he once had, he was, nonetheless, a pure entertainer. The audience loved him. (As do I!)
A personal performance of the numerous songs written by Kristofferson — a truly gifted songwriter. Simply an enjoyable experience! The Adler is an old but comfortable theater, but the acoustics are not as good as in most newer auditoriums.
We had great comfortable seats in an older ,rejuvenated theater. That made it a much more intimate experience. the ordering and processing of the tickets went without a hitch.
I thought Kris Kristofferson was great, for some one 83 he still sparkles as both a singer and a song writer. The Stranger's were an added experience of fun. One needs to thank them for hanging together after Meryl died. If you were there you saw greatness in action.
Kris Kristopherson stayed true in delivering all of his classics with a few Haggard hits sprinkled in over 2 hours of pure enjoyment. His legendary gravelly voice might be a bit quieter these days, and his movements slower, but Haggard's band The Strangers were the perfect accompaniment. Honestly, I haven't enjoyed a concert as much as this one, in ages. This 83 year old handsome as ever icon delivered and I'm so glad I was there to share in the experience.
He played the favorites from a very long career. It had the feeling of a farewell concert without actually saying that. I am glad I went.
Another great show. Can’t wait for the next one. ❤️
Tickets did not arrive via mail. Contacted the "live chat". The rep arranged for will call pick up in a couple of minutes. We arrived at the theater and got the tickets- no problem!! The Uptown was a nice venue to see Kris Kristofferson!!
Mr Kristofferson added a last minute concert in Wichita the day before this KC concert. Maybe he was tired from back to back concerts? Most songs were mumbled and difficult to make out. The singing voice was supported completely by the violinist accompanying him. The tempo was often too slow. Slow songs were slow and fast songs were slow. Mr Kristofferson did not engage the audience and jumped from the end of one song to the start of the next. No chit chat; no encore. It seemed like he just wanted to get through the concert and be done. I am glad i was able to see a childhood hero perform, but I wish I had done so 20 years ago. The venue, Uptown Theater, in KC MO was very nice, but the ushers did a very poor job. They blocked ones view multiple time and created distractions.
Kris Kristofferson is an amazing songwriter. Seeing such a legend for the first time was awesome. I was so impressed that even with Kris’s soft, deep, raspy voice, I could hear every word. Incredible job by the sound man.
Facility is good and security good at getting you in the door. Music was wonderful. Kris does well for his age and having The Strangers as backup with a lot of Haggard's music made it great! Parking is the only downfall for this venue. We were an hour early and the parking lot was already full. The only other option is to find street parking as close as possible.
The Uptown Theater was still great. Still intimate like years before and easy to access with caring employees who assisted me (use a cane) with many things and even allowed me to eliminate the long line It was great to see Kris K again and hear all my favorite songs. His voice has slipped a bit, but he is still great!
Love Kris K. But think it’s time to retire. Like Willy you guys don’t have the voices anymore and pretty much speak your songs.
Excellent concert. The acoustics at the Unicorn made it easy to understand the lyrics and enjoy the music.
