I had been wanting to see Kinky Boots for a long time and was not disappointed by the performance at Tobys. All of the actors/singers were wonderful especially the gentleman that played Lola. If you get a chance, please go see the performance. You will love it.
Enjoyed the show. Didn't expect to be sitting with another couple, but they turned out to be ok. I liked how they had a gentleman go down the line taking info and giving us our table numbers, etc. The food was pretty good. Wish there were for Gluten Free options in dinner and desert. The show was great to watch, had a good moral to the story about acceptence. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the experience. Will be back again.
I just loved it a little bit of everything: laughter - sadness - love - truthfulness l am so pleased l went to see it THANK YOU!!!!

I really didn’t know the story behind this show, only that several big names had played the lead roles and Cyndi Lauper was part of the creation. The music is awesome and I think the cast was Broadway quality for sure. Loved the show. No slow spots. The time flew by.
One of the best players I have seen in a very long time. The actors were amazing, the Choreo graph was beyond my expectations! Brilliantly done, extremely funny. Highly recommend
Absolutely one of the BEST shows that we have been to! We laughed most of the time and really enjoyed the song collection! I would definitely pay to see it again!!

Kinky Boots was a solid musical, with an excellent set of songs and a few strong performances. Unfortunately, some of the dialog was difficult to hear; the microphones were probably set to low even for the floor. I can't imagine that the balcony could hear very well at all. There were several strong voices in the cast, but some of the chorus were not strong singers. The musical is recommended though for its themes of inclusion and several excelent songs written by Cindy Lauper.
An awesome experience of top notch music, performances, costumes and production! Felt so inspired when I left the theatre. There’s nothing better than a great show with an important message that doesn’t come across as ‘preachy’ or artificial. Would see it again if it wasn’t the last performance in New Orleans!
I didn’t know anything about the show, so went in completely open minded. By intermission I was on my feet! It’s a wonderful lesson in acceptance and inclusion. The actors were fantastic and the music exciting. We downloaded the soundtrack and listened to it on our 2 hour return trip! I highly recommend Kinky Boots! I absolutely LOVED it!
This is one of my favorite musicals of all time. The cast was absolutely fantastic. The music, the acting was phenomenal. I believe I got emotional twice (probably more). Such a great show of acceptance and being able to let yourself be who you are.
First act was TOO LONG and boring. Sound quality was awful and loud, but hard to distinguish the words. Fire alarm went off in 1st act! Smokey auditorium. Very disappointed in everything, but stayed to the end. 2nd Act was fantastic! Guess I am spoiled and prefer smaller venue.
So, I'll preface this with "Kinky Boots", the movie (2005), is one of my favorite movies. And, I was HOPING, REALLY HOPING, that the musical would come close to capturing the magic that I saw in the movie. While I don't think it did (the performer who played Lola/Simon, though possessed with a beautiful voice, was lacking presence...a song or two from the movie would have been nice...a less pat second act would have helped), it was lots of FUN! We particularly loved Charlie and Lauren!! And the "Angels" were awesome!! All in all a good way to spend an afternoon/evening.
Loved the music, the setting and even the story line which I wasn't to sure about. Love seeing performers new to Broadway style shoes carry the musical along. Great cast of a few veterans. Would see again.
I’ve watched Kinky Boots online before but to see it in person is still unbelievable. The cast is amazing and some even left friendly comments on my tagged IG posts. Hope to see them back soon!
Kinky Boots is a high energy, fast paced show (once it gets past the story setup). We saw it a year or so ago at the same theatre, and returned this time with friends. We were a bit disappointed with the casting. The two main characters lacked stage presence, and "Charlie"'s voice was whiny and a bit off-key. "Lola" could sing but We enjoyed this performance but it was not nearly as good as the previous.
I thought the moral of the story was great, and the finale was outstanding! Unfortunately, I found most of the cast (Except Lola) to lack energy for most of the performance.
