About

Kings of Leon are a four-time Grammy-winning rock band formed in Nashville, Tennessee. Since their inception in 1999, the group’s lineup has been composed of the Followill brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared, along with their first cousin Matthew Followill. The band emerged with their debut album, Youth & Young Manhood, in 2003, while subsequent releases like 2005’s Aha Shake Heartbreak and 2007’s Because of the Times further established the band as Southern rock staples in the American and international mainstream. Kings of Leon’s 2008 album Only by the Night earned the band’s first RIAA double-platinum certification with hit singles like “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody,” the latter of which peaked at a career-best No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, 2010’s Come Around Sundown and 2013’s Mechanical Bull both reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while their 2016 effort WALLS became Kings of Leon’s first No. 1 debut. In 2021, the group released their eighth album, When You See Yourself

    Amazing!!

by KOLlove on 7/12/09Mesa Amphitheatre - Mesa

I saw Kings of Leon at the Mesa Amphitheater in May and it was great. They sounded like their album and even better! Not only was KOL amazing, but the Mesa Amphitheater was an unbelievable venue! There was not a bad seat in the house and the sound was incredible. If your favorite band is playing at this venue I recommend you make it happen!! I only have good things to say about this concert!

Kings Of Leon are the best band in the world!

by mrsnfollowill on 7/12/09Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

I travelled all the way from England to see Kings Of Leon play in San Francisco. I queued from approx 10.00am and was 3rd in line. Managed to get right to the barrier and the whole gig was amazing. I had seen them 2 days before in Arizona too!!! Caleb actually seemed to recognise the crowd of people I was with from the Arizona gig which made it all the more special. I would definitely travel to America again to see them play.

Kings of Leon are on top!

by Teadac on 7/12/09Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

Great Show!!! The opening act "The Walkmen" didn't sound very good, maybe because the venue is to big for their style of music. But Kings of Leon were amazing. We got there maybe of few minutes before the doors opened, so we decided to see what the balcony was like. We sat on the left side / middle, almost the corner. The sound seemed fine for Kings of Leon. Every song was great. The View was awesome, enjoyed watching the crowd as well as the show, but definetely had a great view of the stage. Only wished that the lights were a little dimmer above us, sometimes it seemed to take away from the atmosphere of the show, plus the security guard was right next to us, but he was cool. The bar was also right up the stairs so it was close, but expensive just like every other concert venue. I would absolutely recomend seeing Kings of Leon anywhere! As for the venue, maybe 6 out of 10.

    King Of Leon deliver

    by theu2edge on 7/12/09Mesa Amphitheatre - Mesa

Kings Of Leon are continuing to gain support and play larger venues as evidenced by this sold out show at Mesa Amp. Despite temps reaching well over 100 degrees, the crowd was as excited as ever to hear the band. KOL delivered a solid set from begining to end, despite Caleb McFollowill saying from the stage they were struggliing sound wise up there. I don't think anyone in the audience noticed any miscues. They did restart Knocked Up (or was it Charmer?) but that seemed to be the only glitch of the night. "Cold Desert" was a great song live, reminding me of "40" by U2. There is no reason why KOL will not be as big as they are overseas in the United States. Each new album is better than the last showing more depth and reason. All I can say is I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves in the future.

Totally flippin' amazing show and venue!!!

by SBEngGal on 7/12/09Santa Barbara Bowl - Santa Barbara

As many of us locals say: "There isn't a better place to see a live show than the SB Bowl" and the KJEE Roundup always gives you more than your money's worth. Kings of Leon were so amazing and The Airborne Toxic Event could have been the headliners as well and made it worth your while. If anyone ever has the chance to see these groups live...DO IT!!!!

it was such a great show. My friends and I drove from California to Arizona to see them just because it was general admission and we had a better chance of getting gront row. We did not get front row we were in the second row which was still amazing because there are amazing! I ove KIngs of Leon!

    Kings of Leon ROCK!

by DMac209 on 7/12/09Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

This concert was fantastic! They are an amazing band to see live. The only problemthat I had with the show is that I wish the setlist was a bit longer. Looking at setlists from other concerts, our show had like 5 to 7 less songs than almost all the other shows. Besides that, everything else was perfect.

    Best live act around today

by Robflint on 7/12/09Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

In a world where MTV and dumb record company CEOs control what we hear too much... there is a light... If you ever get the chance YOU MUST see Kings of Leon they are by far the best live act around today.

Kings of Leon know how to rock!

by KingsQueen on 7/12/09Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

Kings of Leon quite simply know what they are doing when they play live. Caleb's voice is utter perfection, the music itself sounds amazing and they know how to play to the crowd. They mean business, and don't have a lot of needless talking in between songs. Not to say that I wouldn't mind hearing Caleb's sultry voice talking for a while! I highly recommend seeing Kings of Leon live.

    KOL rock!

by glasrangers on 7/12/09Santa Barbara Bowl - Santa Barbara

This was a great show. The venue was small, but had a big feel to it. Airborne Toxic Event and White Lies were good openers, and Kings of Leon frickin rocked! Saw them at the Fillmore in San Fran a few years back, and they have only improved since then. I would recommend seeing these guys live to anyone that enjoys rock.

    Not at this venue !

by cb727 on 7/12/09Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

I love Kings of Leon and was so looking forward to seeing the band live for the first time. It's been many years since I last saw a show at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, and didn't know or remember that the acoustics were so bad. The show was such a disappointment soundwise, but I was still able to see that the band would be great in a better venue. I'll definitely try to see them again somewhere else.

KINGS OF LEON --- BEST BAND in the WORLD?

by gregb on 7/12/09Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

Anyone who doesn't think the KINGS OF LEON have arrived, hasn't seen their live performance. This may be the year of U2, GREEN DAY, COLDPLAY and THE KILLERS but the KINGS OF LEON are up with that exclusive group. Their show at the BILL GRAHAM CIVIC AUDITORIUM was amazing. From start to finish they played a no-nonsense collection of their music, not just the new album. Caleb makes every effort to connect with his audience in a low-keyed performance. The band has morphed into one of the best in the world. The band is not to be missed whenever they play in the region. I would travel to see them most anywhere now.

    walkmen was amazing

by drdoomcuad on 7/12/09Mesa Amphitheatre - Mesa

Kings of leon were very lame. The fans of theirs were no different. Bunch of college "cool guys" who don't have an appreciation for good music. The walkmen were pretty much amazing, even with most of the drunk frat guys were booing them.

KOL put on a great show!

by Micnickin on 7/12/09Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

They played 99% of the songs I wanted to hear and just rocked it! Can't wait until they come back into town.
