KING CRIMSON IN CONCERT:
You can't keep a good band down -- legendary prog rock pioneers King Crimson ended a five-year hiatus in 2014 with the announcement of a fall US tour. The group has called it quits several times over the decades, but their love of music and passion for performing always bring them back to the stage. The band's current lineup -- its eighth since 1969 -- includes founder and primary creative force Robert Fripp alongside three drummers, two guitar players, and a flutist-saxophonist. Beloved for their virtuosic musicianship and extended live jamming, the veteran performers will take fans on an unforgettable musical journey through their hallowed discography on their An Evening with King Crimson tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
King Crimson was formed in Dorset, UK in 1968 by guitarist Robert Fripp and brothers Michael and Peter Giles. The band's acclaimed 1969 debut In the Court of the Crimson King established what would become the hallmarks of British progressive rock, with its emphasis on instrumental expertise, use of vanguard musical technologies, and fusion of rock forms with classical and jazz styles. By the time they released their 1970 sophomore album In the Wake of Poseidon the band had already undergone the first of many lineup changes, but despite the shakeup the album still landed at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. In the decades that followed, King Crimson's rotating roster of players produced an impressive string of Top 40 albums, establishing them as one of the era's most revered progressive rock acts. Despite several hiatuses over the years, the band continues to reunite for occasional albums and tours. Robert Fripp and Co. thrilled fans once again in 2014 with the announcement of An Evening with Crimson, their highly anticipated fall US tour.

Great show great time of year and a surpringly great venue. Boston has done a good job with the Sea port area.
The Zappa band consists of several members from the 80’s Zappa band.. These guys were flawless… FLAWLESS… I could have watched them for another 4 hours… And Crimson? They were even better.
One of the most amazing concert experiences of my life..and I have seen a few!
Both bands were terrific. Check-in process very smooth and efficient. We both really enjoyed our food as well.
Great show, Zappa band and Crimson both played awesomely. Crimson was considerably louder to the point of jeopardizing enjoyment of the music.
It was a wonderful all-around show, from the Zappa Band openers to King Crimson itself...a very good match of bands. My 2nd time seeing Crimson [and 8th time seeing bassist Tony Levin], so glad I got this apparently-last chance to see them on this side of the pond. CMAC is a very nice venue, I'd definitely go there again.
Love venue, Music was Great. Drinks were well poured.
The checking in for vaccination was simple and fast. The require of mask inside was welcome. The arena is beautiful as always. King Crimson was just amazing. Overall great night.
Great Venue and fabulous concert - a group with fantastic musicians -
I went to see Crimson the previous time they were in town at the Lisner Auditorium. Saturday's concert was a condensed version of that one and they didn't play any new songs. Although it was a good concert I'm a little disappointed
What a great venue! Our first time to The Anthem but won't be our last. The process for checking vaccination status (and thanks for doing that, by the way), IDs and tickets was flawlessly performed. Didn't feel like I was getting gouged by the bar prices as happens in many other venues. Ala in all, just a great experience....apart from our parking a bit too far away.
If you like older progressive rock and or King Crimson, you'd love this. There's a five minute drum solo that'll rock your world.
the venue (anthem) was great as were King Crimson and the Zappa Band, but what is the science behind a mask mandate if you already have a vaccination mandate?
it was boring. the zappa band was excelent however
Would not have attended if I’d known Adrian Belew wasn’t in the mix.
Amazing show! Both King Crimson and Zappa Band were in top form. The venue was excellent, first time there (but not the last!). Good adherence to safety protocols and vax requirements--thank you!!
This has to be the most professional concert I ever attended. The precision of the musicians was absolutely unreal. The setlist was also so amazing, covering their full career-span. The Anthem was the perfect place to enjoy it. Excellent and kind service at the bars and entry process. Sound was absolutely perfect, and at what I consider the right volume.
Ah, Live music. the feel of Tony's bass line shaking my kidneys. Pat Mastalotto and two more drummers, wow! And what else can we say about Robert Fripp. Only wish Toyah was there too! The Zappa band was great. I love Mike Kenneally!
Show was great. Sound engineers did a fabulous job. I could hear each instrument beautifully. Big thumbs down to venue and covid safety. No checking of vaccine status at entry. Majority of employees not wearing masks. Employees are required to be vaccinated, which is good. But we all know you can get covid even if vaccinated. And, you can spread it to others. Where are the masks ???Live Nation should be ashamed of themselves ! I went to The Spire Center in Plymouth last week and 1st thing they checked was my vaccine card and ID. Masks were required. I felt very safe. The Narrows in Fall River next week are doing the same thing. Music was great. Covid safety non-existent. Very poor and irresponsible job !!!
