BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Kids In the Hall have had a long-standing run in Canada's comedy  scene, first forming in the early '80s but moving on to solo pursuits shortly after. It wasn't until their 1986 reunion when they realized their potential as a troupe -- SNL creator Lorne Michaels also noticed their on-stage chemistry, and the idea for a comedy show was born. They made their television debut in 1989, enjoying a successful six-season run and earning a Golden Rose Award (Rose d'Or). Since the show's finale, Kids In the Hall members have developed a major cult following, acting out recurring themes on tour and performing sketch situations in their hit film Brain Candy.Back on the road, Kids In the Hall head out on a number of tour dates, treating ticket buyers to their classic skits alongside new material.

    Kids in the Hall Delivered

by Nitram1 on 6/11/14DAR Constitution Hall - Washington

What a mix of childish behavior, political humor, adult inuendo and straight up dirtiness. They lived up to their reputation and then some. Go see them and you won't be disappointed.

    The Kids still got it!

by AngryPaleKid on 6/11/14DAR Constitution Hall - Washington

I saw the Kids in the Hall live several years ago and seeing them again was not a let down. The new material is funny and they performed a few greatest hits (Chicken Lady) that really made the show. I was laughing the whole time! Definitely looking forward to seeing more of these guys in the near future!

Still Crazy After all these Years!

by MarkNYC64 on 6/11/14DAR Constitution Hall - Washington

Over the course of the last quarter century, this is probably the fifth time I've seen the Kids live and they never disappoint. They did some of their classic sketches -- Chicken Lady's Blind Date, Nina from JoyMakers -- and new material for classic characters -- Gavin gets an HIV test; Buddy Cole; Fran & Gordon get frisky; Sir Simon Milligan and Hecubus -- and it's like the comedy equivalent of comfort food. They poked fun at themselves; at one point Kevin sings an original song about the history of the Kids, ending with they won't stop till one of them dies, "probably Dave." The Kids are getting older and it's starting to show with receding hairlines and protruding bellies, but the comedy is still amazing. The opening bit about "Men who Wear Wedding Dresses" is classic, goofy Kids. I'm okay with the fact they never got beyond cult status, and more importantly, they seem to be as well.

Awesome show! This is my fourth time seeing Kids in the Hall live and no only do they still have "it" when performing old favorites, their new stuff is just as brilliant and sharp. As always, I'm super grateful for all the funny they have brought to my mind and heart for 25 years now.

    The Kids are all right!

by Bnkittens on 6/10/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

An older, slightly huskier Kids hit the stage at the Wilbur in Boston. More than 20 years has passed since the Kids in the Hall made their television debut. However, once the show started the years seemed less significant. Up to their old tricks, the Kids kept the audience laughing throughout their 90 min. show. Some old skits (much appreciated!), some new, much cross-dressing, and a nod or two to Monty Python - the tour is a must-see for any fans of the TV show.

    Classic Kids

by Caecillius on 6/10/14DAR Constitution Hall - Washington

They haven't lost their touch after 20 years. Classic skits and new favorites abound. Show was a whirlwind that went by so quickly I hadn't realized it was nearly two hours after they had started. Once in a lifetime experience.

    Highly recommended!

by JIsaac on 6/9/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Most of the show was new material and even the classic sketches have had some work done. The show ended up running a bit longer than anticipated due to some screw ups (some by the production crew and some by the Kids themselves), but these guys are such professionals, that they know how to work it into the show. They are truly improv artists! If you have an idea of what they are about from their TV shows (the original KITH sketch show and the Death Comes to Town mini-series) and from their movies, you can trust them to entertain you during this ~90 minute live show. As for when their sketches were going according to plan, the good thing is that the premise of their sketches are always so out there, that the punch line is never predictable. Enjoy!

    Kids in te hall---amazing!

    by rwood1987 on 6/9/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

If you remember the 1990s, you will not be disappointed by their performance. We went to their first show and they cracked up at some point because they were having so much fun. They played Buddy Cole, Bird lady, Jerry and Jarold, and Running FAGGET. If I could see them again I would, when they took a bow I was so disappointed that it ended.

The Kids Weren't Rusty At All

by Gillymass on 6/9/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

The five man comedy troupe combined old and new skits to make for a memorable night at the Wilbur Theatre Friday night. They also added new twists to their old routines and broke each other up a few times which I love to watch. They started with an hysterical routine wearing wedding gowns and ended with an impromptu encore. Quick-witted, topical, warm, and funny, The Kids in the Hall cracked me up. A terrific show!

    KITH are still amazingly funny!

    by levin423 on 6/9/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

This show was everything I hoped for... tons of great new material, and a few classic sketches, as well. Although I truly love all 5 guys, Kevin and Mark were fantastic. I've seen every tour that's brought them to our area, and I hope I get another chance someday.

    Awesome!

by UnknownMonkeyman on 6/9/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Event was awesome! Ran into Dave and Kevin on their way into the theater and got to shake their hands. They made a lot of mistakes and broke the 4th wall, but it made the show a lot more fun. (It's called "Rusty & Ready" for a reason). Mark poorly imitating a Boston accent was hilarious. Ending with an encore of "Running Fagg0t" was a nice touch, especially when Kevin came out with the redneck hat on too soon, and threw it back stage before he spoke. Definitely had a lot of fun.
