KIDS IN THE HALL LIVE:

Canadian comedy troupe Kids In the Hall thrilled fans when they turned their popular sketch sitcom into a full-blown comedy tour. Whether they're playing out their signature skits in drag or impersonating Queen Elizabeth II, the five jokesters consistently have aidoemces doubled-over in hysterics during their live performances. Back on tour, the uncanny quintet will treat ticket buyers to their quirky antics as they hit the road for a string of highly anticipated shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Kids In the Hall have had a long-standing run in Canada's comedy  scene, first forming in the early '80s but moving on to solo pursuits shortly after. It wasn't until their 1986 reunion when they realized their potential as a troupe -- SNL creator Lorne Michaels also noticed their on-stage chemistry, and the idea for a comedy show was born. They made their television debut in 1989, enjoying a successful six-season run and earning a Golden Rose Award (Rose d'Or). Since the show's finale, Kids In the Hall members have developed a major cult following, acting out recurring themes on tour and performing sketch situations in their hit film Brain Candy.Back on the road, Kids In the Hall head out on a number of tour dates, treating ticket buyers to their classic skits alongside new material.

New Kids...I mean The Kids in the Hall Kick Ass

by PeteHSL on 6/6/15Balboa Theatre - San Diego

They were Raunchy, Uncensored and Mean...just what I love in a comedy troop! They are the best thing to come out of Canada...literally! Probably the most influential comedy troop to come to the US from...oh wait that's what I wrote about Monty Python...never mind! My wife and I loved the show...not for the kids...we left ours at home!

The last time the Kids came to town was 15 years ago and I missed them, so this was a long time coming. It was just like getting together with great friends you haven't seen for ages. Their wit and edge is even sharper than ever. They revisited the best sketch ever, and most of the old characters made an appearance. Fun to see everything relate to life now days. Couldn't have asked for a better show.

    As Hilarious as Ever

by Treberto on 6/6/15Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Absolutely hilarious. The Kids still got it! It was a mix of updated old skits (classics!) as well as some amazing new ones, as subversive as ever. My whole face hurt after the show, both from laughing and getting it crushed.

It was only 1:45 long but it was great to see them all together. They brought back some memorable skits we've missed for a long time. Overall a very nice evening! We would go again...

    Bawdy and Hilarious!

by CrushaYouHead on 6/6/15Balboa Theatre - San Diego

The Kids in the Hall get better and better every time I see them. If you are a fan, you will love it. If you are not a fan, you will become one once you see them. Balboa theater sound was not perfect, but that theater is just a wonderful venue.

    LOL

by 10000yearsandlovingit on 5/23/15Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

These guys still have it. We enjoyed ourselves, and wish them all the best on their tour. On the downside, we weren't fond that almost every skit had sexual remarks and connotations. I am not sure that this reunion will last, but, like I said, we enjoyed ourselves and we wish these guys all the best.

For KITH fans, the skits never get old. Good use of classic characters in new situations. Not for the faint of heart.

    kids fizzle

    by elvislover123456 on 5/19/15State Theatre - Minneapolis

I was very excited when I saw the ad for the kids in the hall on stage, and then sadly disappointed! Being a fan from the HBO years, I wasn't upset that they used the old material, I WAS upset that they did not feature chicken lady or the secretaries!! Kids in the hall in drag is the best!! The show was barely an hour long and I felt that for all the effort and expense I may have been better off staying at home watching TKITH on you tube.

Kids In the Hall: Brilliant Finitesimal Explosive!

by Finitesimal on 5/19/15State Theatre - Minneapolis

Okay, we use lines from Kids In the Hall in our daily conversations whenever we can. We bought all the seasons on DVD and still watch them. Getting the Comedy Troupe on Tour is a brilliant move! We loved the idea that we recognize the skits, the roars of laughter thundering crashing washing over the audience like happy ocean waves. It was a magical memorable evening with my hubster. We realized we hadn't been to a theater event in over 10 years and we've been married for 20 years. Jiminy Crickets! We met in the theater ourselves. I was the stage manager/assistant director and he was the lighting guy and president of the juggling club. In the booth in the college theater our friendship was inevitable. It was a few years later that he invited me to sell everything I own, quit my job and go tour the country in a 1969 VW pop top camper bus. We've been inseparable ever since. Oh yeah, sorry guys got a bit side tracked with the review... you gotta go! I pray they come back to Minneapolis, MN again so we can get the word out to all of our friends that didn't know about it, but wish they had. We LOVE KITH!!! Thanks for coming to visit us guys! Safe travels and be well.

    Just as I remembered! Hilarious!!

by craigkoz on 5/19/15State Theatre - Minneapolis

What a great time! Very fun to see and just as I remembered. Great chemistry and reminds me of my college days. Bruce McColluch's Gavin and Scott Thompson's Buddy Cole were hilarious and untarnished by time. They are still irreverent and able to pull off some unPC things other comedians could not. Dave Foley's country doctor and of course, Kevin McDonald in drag with updates/adlibs was as funny now as it was back in the day. Perfect ending with Mark McKinney crushing the heads of members of the audience and the troop. When it was done, I thought it was too short, and then realized after checking the time, they were well over two hours. Time flew, that's how fun it was. However, I wished Sir Simon Milligan and Manservent Hecubus had shown up though, maybe next time.

    The Kids are Alright

    by Chopper2342 on 5/19/15State Theatre - Minneapolis

The live Kids in the Hall performance was everything we hoped it would be...funny, crass, weird, satirical and did I say funny? The guys were all on their game and put on a high energy 2 hour show that was hilarious. I missed these guys, and this show reminded me why.

Kids in the Hall was.....solid laughs!

by Annetta on 5/19/15State Theatre - Minneapolis

I have loved this troupe since discovering them in 94. Watched all the episodes, eventually on disc and Netflix, and laughed with them Saturday night just like when I first found them. Amazing to see them live, for the second time, and to laugh solidly for almost 2 hours! Bravo!
