Kevin Patrick Smith is an American filmmaker, actor, comedian, comic book writer, author, YouTuber, and podcaster. He came to prominence with the low-budget comedy buddy film Clerks (1994), which he wrote, directed, co-produced, and acted in as the character Silent Bob of stoner duo Jay and Silent Bob. Clerks won the "Award of the Youth" and the "Mercedes-Benz Award" at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, the "Filmmakers Trophy" at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards (Best First Feature, Best First Screenplay and Jeff Anderson for Best Debut Performance).
The film Jay and Silent Bob also appeared in Smith's later films Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which are set primarily in his home state of New Jersey. While not strictly sequential, the films have crossover plot elements, character references, and a shared canon known as the "View Askewniverse", named after Smith's production company View Askew Productions, which he co-founded with Scott Mosier.
Since 2011, Smith has mostly made horror films, including Red State (2011) and the "comedy horror films" Tusk (2014) and Yoga Hosers (2016), two in a planned series of three such films set in Canada dubbed the True North trilogy.
Last year, Smith executive produced Masters of the Universe: Revelation for Netflix and coming later this year, Smith will release the much anticipated Clerks III via Lionsgate.
Smith owns Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank, New Jersey, a comic bookstore which became the setting for the reality television show Comic Book Men (2012-2018). As a podcaster, Smith co-hosts several shows on his SModcast Podcast Network, including SModcast, Fatman Beyond, and the live show Hollywood Babble-On. He is known for /participating in long, humorous Q&A sessions that are often filmed for DVD release, beginning with An Evening with Kevin Smith.
The venue had the main screen like a movie theater and then two small ones up top. I was sitting on the second level with the main screen partially blocked. Tix should have said obstructed view. Great movie but not worth 140 for two tickets.
Kevin Smith is the man. He really appreciates his fans and makes sure they get their money's worth. His new movie they showed was hilarious and his Q&A with the audience was insightful and informative. We paid for VIP tickets and got to meet him and get our picture taken with him. I walked up to Kevin and put my hand out to shake his hand and he immediately opened his arms and gave me a big hug before thanking me for being a fan. I will never forget this experience!
This was a once in a lifetime experience. Finally seeing Kevin Smith in person, was great. It was everything you’d expect. HE ALMOST DIED! Do not miss this!!!
The show was hilarious, Kevin and Jay were warm and friendly and took their time, and if I had any money left in my budget, I'd go right back to another one!

I love this movie. Probably my favorite of all of his. I've never laughed so hard in a theater. Kevin and Jay are awesome live. High energy and happy to be there. Always great seeing them.

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes presented the film and did a Q&A after the film ended. The guys are hilarious and they definitely too so much time to answer people's questions. Very cool. Can't wait to catch another show of theirs.
it was fun to see these two in person, however Kevin Smith likes to talk a lot when answering questions. Not necessarily bad but there were probably 25 people who wanted to ask questions and maybe 6 did because every answer was at least 15 minutes long. Jason barely spoke at all.
Jay and Kevin put on a great show, but I paid to have a picture with then which I didn’t receive!
Seeing Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes along with their movie was great. We laughed for nearly three hours straight. Highly recommended!

This was such an awesome event. Kevin and Jason were simply wonderful. The only bummer part was having to hurry through the photo opp so quickly. When I bought my tickets there wasn’t the second showing of the movie, if there had been I would have just got regular tickets instead of paying for 45seconds of pictures.
We had a great time. Movie was awesome! Q&A was great. Hope to see y’all again soon!

This is the second time I have had the pleasure to see Kevin Smith and was lucky enough to have Jason Mewes with him this time and it was simply perfection. We got to see the new Jay and Silent Bob flick to boot and man it was great. These guys are what the entertainment world should be about they do it right.
This was like watching a movie surrounded by a thousand friends, all cheering and laughing together. The movie was fantastic, put together in a way to make any Kevin Smith fan happy. The writing, of course, was in top form, the acting by Jason Mewes was his best to date and the returning actors and guest stars were all incredible. Just buy your tickets and have a great night out!!
