  • FANTABULOUS

by MouseRat on 12/3/12Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Kevin played his first album. Killed it. He played his latest album. Killed it. He then played a hodgepodge of hits. Killed that too. He has an amazing voice and sings with emotion. His lyrics are meaningful and paint a great picture. I am lucky to live in New York so I could attend the show.

Just amazing, there are no other words. Kevin Devine never fails to impress.

Great show and audience - so much fun to watch a band that is loving making music on stage together so much.

  • That's a ballgame.

by Anotherblondeonthescene on 10/26/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was awesome. My exboyfriend was so excited he finally got to see Kevin Devine before he died. I am too. His lyrics are beautiful and he is absolutely hilarious. I was very much in the moment of enjoyment and kevin Devine seemed to touch my heart.

  • Kevin Devine was great but An Horse was amazing!

by Yellowshirtandbluejacket on 10/24/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Okay, I know Kevin Devine was the headliner, but seriously, An Horse kicked it big time. I really hope they come back to Boston as the headlining act because they and their fans deserve more than just a 40 minute set.

  • Opener was better than the Headliner

by n3rd on 9/14/11The Club at Stage AE - PittsburghRating: 2 out of 5

The Feature opened for Kevin Devine at Stage AE in Pittsburgh. Unlike The Feature, Kevin Devine lacked stage presence. He also played a lot of his new music from his forthcoming album which to put kindly... was boring. I ended up leaving halfway through his set. His new music really did not engage me or the friend I had brought with me.

  • kevin devine is a wonderful human being

by HalePhoenix on 3/15/11The Basement - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

well first of all, when i got there kevin devine was running his own merch table. i got to meet him and he is one of the most adorable men i've ever met. he is so sweet and modest. river city extension was the perfect opener. i had never heard them before, but i fell in love. they looked like they were having such a good time. when a band is really into the music they create, i seem to enjoy it more. kevin devine opened with "cotton crush". i don't remember the exact setlist, but he played everything i wanted to hear. he even did short little acapella versions of songs people were screaming out<3 i hate to sound corny, but there was just so much passion radiating from him while he performed. his voice, everything is amazing. this was the first time i've seen him live and i was not disappointed in any way.

It was an amazing show! Loved that he sold his own merchandise and talked to his fans! Super awesome venue as well! Definetly would love to see him again!

  • Kevin Devine is the man.

by Geon on 3/14/11The Basement - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome, awesome show. The sound didn't seem entirely programed at first, but by the end of Another Bag of Bones (second song), the night was perfect. His voice was better live than on record, and that charisma that makes him one of the most relatable guys in music was apparent all night. Performed several covers, from Liz Phair to Modest Mouse, and even previewed several songs from his upcoming LP "Between the Concrete and Clouds," due to be released this year. He was hilarious, interacted with the crowd all night, and you could tell how hard of a worker he is with his music. He puts every bit of himself into his performances, and he manages to seamlessly improv hot-button issues (Japanese disasters, Wisconsin protests, etc.) into his songs. With his involvement of the crowd and high-energy stage presence, Kevin Devine is easily one of the best frontmen, and overall performers, I have ever seen. The openers, River City Extension, also converted the entire audience, most of us unfamiliar with the group, into fans with a high-energy, passionate set that included new songs, and songs off of their debut album "River City Extension and the Unmistakable Man." I can not recommend this tour, or these two separate artists, highly enough.

  • Miniature tigers were the headliners!

by docvader on 8/10/09House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

We saw this show - I personally think miniature tigers were better than Devine - they had more energy, and better songs. It was a good time, however.

  • The Glorious Kevin Devine

by jennlusetti on 8/7/09The Basement - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Kevin Devine prior to this event and he never disappoints. The set was wonderful; no one album was favored over another. It was an absolute delight - the best show I've ever been to. KD is my favorite musician because of shows like these. I will never tire of his shows/music - whenever he makes a stop in Ohio, I will most likely be there. I recommend his music to everyone; he's not only an amazing musician, he's a genuinely nice person and he actually cares about his fans. It's beyond refreshing.

  • spectacularly interactive

    by SomeGirl23 on 8/5/09The Basement - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

He took requests via email before the show and played the longest set I've seen. Every old and new favorite was included and his voice and guitar sounded amazing. Go see him play!

  • awesome show

opening bands were pretty good. joe firstman and his crew were really cool and played some great songs. very unexpected but a great treat. KD played a lonnnnnngg set and it was AMAZING! he got to play so many songs and teh crowd was very engaged. he's very funny and a seemingly great guy. fun to watch him play some of our favorites.

  • Kevin Devine et al was a great performance!

by KatyM27 on 7/17/09Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Kevin Devine, Miniature Tigers, and Brian Bonz and the Band were all soo amazing! They truly wanted to be there, and put up a great show. Everyone played with the other bands, and they made for great entertainment too! I would recommend this show anytime!

  • KD was amazing

by bes4 on 7/15/09Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

He always puts on a good show but this time it was even better.

  • Kevin's Devine---

by leegirl on 7/14/09Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

a genuine artist! He touches the young, the old, the hot-- the not! and all can relate to music on some level... which is truly amazing in this phony f*#%&! world.

  • KD is always incredible!

by Makeite1ectric on 7/14/09Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

I'm a long time Kevin Devine fan and I've seen him at least 20 or 30 times. Although the crowds and his discography have gotten much larger, his performances have remained genuinely incredible. He knows what the crowd wants to hear, mixes new songs and old, and seems to feed off our energy. Brian Bonz's set was excellent too!

  • Kevin Devine is AWESOME!!!

by Achiron on 7/14/09Altar Bar - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

I had only gotten introduced to Kevin Devine's music in the last few months and this was my first time seeing him in live. The venue was great, but the challenge for all the bands that night was playing to a Pittsnburgh crowd during a Stanley Cup playoff game also being shown on a large screen TV. KD and the other bands played with the crowd they had, and once the Penguins won the game, Kevin played for another hour to the vibe in the room. I can't express how amazing his music in live and the energy that fills the room. I will definitely see him when he comes to PIttsburgh every time!

  • 1 of the best singer/songwriters of his time

by j0car on 7/14/09Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Kevin Devine plays more shows than almost any other performer which is why he is amazing live. He was noticeably under the weather at this show so it was not his best but it was still amazing. The God Damn band was awesome. Everything was tight.

  • Don't miss them next time

by Oceanbagel on 7/14/09House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Miniature Tigers were a lot of fun. I'll definitely see them next time they come to San Diego. Kevin Devine simply rocks. His CD's really don't do his talent any justice.
