KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD IN CONCERT:
Guitar god Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one of the fiercest young axmen of his generation, and he continues to blow audiences away every time he takes the stage. The self-taught virtuoso is a sight to behold in concert, where his furious fingers and flailing blonde locks serve as the perfect counterpoint to the precision and ease of his razor-sharp riffs. Whether he's playing bluesy originals from 2014's Goin' Home or covering legends like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix, Shepherd always treats fans to electrifying performances that are as heavy on pure gusto as they are on musical chops.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Shreveport, Louisiana-born Kenny Wayne Shepherd got his first guitar in early childhood and began learning the instrument with a unique self-taught method. He was quickly recognized as a guitar prodigy, and at age 13 he was invited to play on stage with blues icon Bryan Lee. His first performance at the Red River Revel Arts Festival in Shreveport attracted the eye of label execs, and before long Shepherd had signed a multiple record deal with Giant Records. His 1995 debut album Leadbetter Heights topped the blues chart, a feat he repeated with five subsequent albums including his 1997 sophomore album Trouble Is... -- the longest-running album on the Billboard Blues Chart in history. In 2014 Shepherd released his seventh studio album Goin' Home, another chart-topper that has fans eagerly awaiting his next must-see series of tour dates.

KWS and the band were great. The venue was very good, good leg room. It was a great night all around and I would see him again!
I've been to see Kenny Wayne Shepherd twice at the Mystic Lake Casino. It's an amazing venue and absolutely an unforgettable performance both times. Wow, totally loved it both times!
The band put on a stellar show and it was an awesome experience.
Kenny and his band are top notch! He is an awesome guitarist! The show was fabulous. Can’t wait to see them again.
The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band concert was incredible! Kenny and musicians presented a professional and yet personable show. The venue was perfect. It allowed the show to become a more personal and relaxed experience. Kenny and crew performed from the heart and clearly loved what they did which made the concert even more enjoyable. It gave an aura of having "friends"in for a jam session. It was perfect.
Amy Venable opened for KWS as she did the last time I saw KWS at the SPAC ( a great venue with friendly folks running things) and was SO much better. She really seemed much more comfortable in her actions and playing. This girl can rock. KWS was his great self and played like the guitar was on fire. Moving his fingers in a blur. The only thing missing was Ballad of a Thin Man. I love his version but it didn't take anything from the performance.
Ally Venable is a must see for any fan of the blues, or excellent guitar playing. Don’t Mess with Texas. The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band has never sounded better. The band was tight. The addition of the horns added a great dimension to the overall experience. Enjoyed listing to the cuts off Dirt on my Diamonds. The venue was excellent. Been there multiple times. Thank you for keeping the blues alive!
Kenny Wayne Shepherd put on an awesome show! He and the band are super talented. We will definitely see him again if the tour is close to us.
Love the blues , and who better to play them than Mr Shepherd !! Great dinner and an awesome show = a perfect night 🌙
Great venue great performance, easy ticket ordering
The show did not disappoint! we had great seats and the show was awesome!
Well, this was our 15th time seeing the amazing KWS Band. They never disappoint. We front row (center - two seats from the left) facing the stage. The band was tight and gave it. I personally was disappointed with the crowd as they were rather sedentary. I would have stood at least for the last couple songs, but the crowd sat and I didn’t want to block anyone’s view. Maybe book the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg PA the next time Or the Hershey Theatre in Hershey PA. I think the crowds would be different. Anyway, we love the KWS B and will always support and go to their shows!
Had front row seats, was very excited to see Kenny Wayne for the 10th time, a heart attack canceled my plans. Bet it was a great show, the man never disappoints
Was in front row, and sound was great throughout the whole place, will be back again!
Great venue, great atmosphere and hall. Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band is phenomenal!
I attend concerts on a regular basis and this was the best evening and concert I have attended in at least 10 years. The venue was clean, chairs comfy, and music was awesome. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a true master of his craft and his band was in synch all night. It was a great evening from beginning to end. If you love blues music you need to see this show! Very few guitarist compare in talent and energy. I am looking forward to next year’s concert and his new album. Great show very entertaining!
KWS put on a great show started off with some off of most recent album and then ripped through his favorites. Great band with him. Only negative was show seemed a tad short. think about an hr forty.
He’s as good as it gets!!!! What a performance from start to finish GREAT!!!!
My Husband and I love KWS and we were so excited to see him at Capital One Hall in Virginia. The venue is beautiful, the acoustics are incredible. It was very comfortable, and as usual, KWS and the band were nothing short of spectacular. My only complaint was that it was really short. I guess I’m not used to a show being that short! It started at 8:00 and ended at about 930. But—- that’s OK, because as we were leaving the show, I got on Ticketmaster and got tickets for the Charles town West Virginia show!!
