About

KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD IN CONCERT:

Guitar god Kenny Wayne Shepherd is one of the fiercest young axmen of his generation, and he continues to blow audiences away every time he takes the stage. The self-taught virtuoso is a sight to behold in concert, where his furious fingers and flailing blonde locks serve as the perfect counterpoint to the precision and ease of his razor-sharp riffs. Whether he's playing bluesy originals from 2014's Goin' Home or covering legends like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix, Shepherd always treats fans to electrifying performances that are as heavy on pure gusto as they are on musical chops.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Shreveport, Louisiana-born Kenny Wayne Shepherd got his first guitar in early childhood and began learning the instrument with a unique self-taught method. He was quickly recognized as a guitar prodigy, and at age 13 he was invited to play on stage with blues icon Bryan Lee. His first performance at the Red River Revel Arts Festival in Shreveport attracted the eye of label execs, and before long Shepherd had signed a multiple record deal with Giant Records. His 1995 debut album Leadbetter Heights topped the blues chart, a feat he repeated with five subsequent albums including his 1997 sophomore album Trouble Is... -- the longest-running album on the Billboard Blues Chart in history.  In 2014 Shepherd released his seventh studio album Goin' Home, another chart-topper that has fans eagerly awaiting his next must-see series of tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"I have seen Kenny Wayne numerous times and this was his best show yet. See him if you can!"

"Awesome show!!! Would definitely pay to see them again! He punished that guitar!"

"Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band rocked the blues. What great musicians. His closing act of Jimmy Hendrix's 'Voodoo Child' was awesome."

    Kenny Wayne Rocks!!

    by Oger on 7/17/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

This was the first time that we have seen KSW in concert and it definitely will not be the last. The venue was an amazing set for this artist to play. It was a more intimate stage with excellent sound. Although KSW and the rest of the band seem to be having some monitor issues in the beginning, they pulled through and gave a great concert. Kenny ended the night on a guitar melting version of Hendrix's Voodoo Chile. This is a can't miss artist for us.

Kenny Wayne rocks your blues into oblivion

by Garyk on 7/16/09Northern Lights - Clifton Park

Probably the best blues guitarist since Stevie Ray ( better then?). We saw him here at Northern Lights then went to Asbury Park NJ to see his next show. I would do it again today if I could. With an excellent front man lead singer (Noah) a hard driving bass player and a drummer who has toured with Paul McCartney and Wings, Kenny Wayne slips in between with solid blues riffs reminiscent of Johnny Winter and Stevie Ray. Unless you were at Electric Ladyland Studios, you WILL NEVER hear a better version of Hendrix's Voodoo Child. NEVER. Outstanding. Impeccable and awe inspiring - The Kenny Wayne Shepherd band is the most underrated blues band in the U.S.. Their promotion/management company blows. No Tshirts, hats, CD's for sale. Great orginal tunes that far too many people have never heard. These guys should have been on top years ago.

    Disappointed

    by AMBLTF on 7/16/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I have been to several performances. This one was quite a disappointment. The music that was played was great, however the length of the show was way too short. The venue was great if you are over 50 and want to sit like a lump on a log in your chair. The security staff were not over the top rigid about you staying in your chair and could stand at the back of the venue. After this experience I will never choose to see another concert at this venue and hope that this will be considered the next time you are booking a venue to play in. When I saw the announcement for the show is was very excited to have another opportunity to see Kenny Wayne Sheperd in concert. I had now idea how poor of an experience it would be and was really bummed to see the week after the show an announcement for a concert at the Show Box. Not only is the Show Box a better venue the tickets were cheaper!! :-(

    kenny wayne jammed!!

    by salmonslammer on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

The concert was at snoqualmie casino and it was the first time we had been there what a nice place, absolutley top class casino! Parking was easy trouble free, just drive around back and in too the 7 story covered garage, with each lvl having its own elevator access that brings you right too the heart of the casino. The only reason i didnt give the concert a 5 star is because the ballroom where the concerts are played is not elevated as you move back so if you dont have forward seating it is hard too get a good view!Other then that kenny and the band are just awesome too see thanks for a great time!!!!

    Kenny Wayne was Explosive

    by EJReed on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Looking forward for months, to this concert thinking in my mind it was not going to be as good as I thought it up in my head,But It was better . Kenny Wayne Shepard and the rest of the band in my opinion delivered an exciting, energetic and all around great performance. Watching someone play music that just by watching them you can see them feel every part of it, through there entire body, is hard to come by, real musicians in general are hard to come by these day, buy Kenny Wayne just is one of the gifted artists out there, and I loved the show.

    Finally saw Kenny Wayne

    by Tarkusman on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

After following Kenny for a long time, it was great to finally get to see him perform. The smaller venue added alot of intimacy to the show, and after some initial sound problems it really took off. He played material from all his early releases and some nice covers of the Mac's "Oh Well" and some Hendrix. His interaction with the crowd was great too. I look forward to seeing this guy again.

    Kenny Wayne Shepherd rocks

    by tootsrider on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I love to watch this show. And will go see Kenny any time any where, but probably not the Snoqualmie Casino Ballroom. I went to two different concerts there and they've got it up way to loud. Can't hear the separate instruments and its hard to hear the vocals there. OUCH, my ears. Kenny and Noah will be at Showbox at the Market soon and althought its a dive, the sound is great.!!!!

    KWS band

    by Atxls on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Although I'd never been to the casino and came all the way from Lacey,it was easy to find and had lots of free parking.Once inside the employees got me headed in the right direction. Now for the main event.I think it's safe to say that there are ALOT of KWS fans in the northwest! I'd put the number of empty seats at about half....because the people were up and MOVING to the music! If you ever get to see the man live, don't think you're just going to sit there! If you can ,then you're already dead.

    by Skinnylegit on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

(sorry Jimi) He also does a great version of "come on" all of Kenny's songs are great too. His singer is top notch, and they call paul rodgers "the Voice"? these guy kicks aaaooos!

    by sawingraham on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

The kenny Wayne Shepherd band Played a great show at the snoqualmie Casino. All seat are close and the sound was great. The only reason I did not give it Five stars is because the stage could be a little bit taller. I'm not short but it is a sometimes hard to see towards the back. I will go back for more shows.

    Kenny rocked the house!

    by PinkFloydDude2 on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

The Snoqualmie Casino Ballroom is an excellent venue to see your favorite group. Every seat is a good seat. We were in the back row and got to stand the entire concert. This was the 4th time I've seen Kenny Wayne and it was the best yet. If you were there and not either screaming or yelling or dancing or whooping it up, have your heart checked because you're either DEAD or a DUD. And that's all I have to say about that.

    Great anniversary evening

    by Betsycamel on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

KWS was sensational...what a showman! The sound was a little off at first, but by the time he was playing Jimi Hendrix at the end, it was spot-on. The venue was not the best, as the doors were to our right and everyone going out to get drinks and coming back walked in front of us. Too bad the doors aren't to the rear like at Little Creek Casino. All in all, it was an enjoyable event celebrating our 33rd anniversary!

    Kenny Wayne Shepherd AWSOME

    by freebird65 on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

This venue is great. It is small enough that any seat is o.k. The only drawback is that it would be nice if the seating was stadium style, but I understand that would take away the ability to have other events there. Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an awsome concert to see. The way he and the singer Noah Hunt work the stage together is great. He is by far a most underated guitar player anywhere. The sound is great and the music is great. I would see a concert at this venue again certainly.

Great guitarist; ok band, terrible venue

    by Hart2Hart on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Great guitarist. Fluid and expressive; joy every time he leaned into the blues. I think of Derek Trucks and John Mayer when I think of Sheppard but the band and singer he surrounds himself is no where in league as the other two. But that being said I would go see this guy anywhere...well almost. I will not go see anybody again at the Snoqualmie Ballroom or should it be called a high school gymnasium. Terrible venue; poor sound, bad feel. Go see the River Rock Casino venue if you want to see a fabulous space with great sound. A bit of a drive (Vancouver) but worth it.

I have been a Kenny Wayne Shepard fan for several years now and do not hesitate to see him when he is in the area. His guitar work is just fantastic. I also love Noah Hunt's vocals. Well worth the evening out. Amazing - 5 Stars
