  • Great Experience for the Most Part

by Bozo on 4/10/19Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

The Concert was shorter than usual. The addition of local Sax and Trumpet players was a disaster. They were horrible, not in tune and low level of talent compared the wonderful regular band. Only one encore when, in past concerts, we got at least three encores. Keiko was, as usual, an incredible and genial artist.

  • Amazing concert!

Not only is Keith Matsui ageless, but I consider her to be one of the most talented pianist. I went out and bought her new CD the next day to add to my collection. I wish she could have played for hours. This was my first time seeing her, where I used to live she never visited. I will see her again and again since I know she frequents The Birchmere in Virginia!

  • Keiko Matsui at the Birchmere

by Bdub on 4/10/19Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 3 out of 5

Keiko is a very talented artist, but not a great entertainer. She only played about an hour. We have seen her with other artists on cruises and festivals. She is much better when she does not have to lead the show.

  • Great

by Rhonda on 4/9/19Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

Keiko Matsui great, however, she waited to play a favorite song as an encore

  • Keiko is the best!

If you ever get a chance to see her, do so! She is beyond talented, humble and entertaining.

  • Orchestra was a great plus. Would have liked another half ho

Everything was great. Would have like another half hour of music.

  • Keiko's llive performances are always GREAT -- Go see her!!!

by lighthouse on 4/9/19Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Keiko perform at least half a dozen times with various artists. She ALWAYS gives a great performance and never disappoints. Most recently I saw her perform at the Berks Jazz Festival in Reading, PA last weekend with the Reading Pops Orchestra and her band. Tracks from her new CD, Echo, backed up by a full orchestra were fanstastic. She has done the Berks Jazz Fest every year for the past several. If you're a fan of jazz piano, you should definitely make it a point to take in her performance at next year's festival!!!

  • Keiko Matsui

by Boomer on 4/9/19Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

She gave one of the most spiritual performances I have had the privilege of attending. It happened on Sat. 4/6 at the Reading Jazzfest. Her spoken contribution was just as inspiring as her captivating music. Her continuous connection with her fellow musicians is a sign of real professionalism and humanity. A truly memorable experience.

  • Awesome show

by Is on 4/9/19Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

We were amazed at how well the orchestra was blended into the performance to enhance the overall experience. The arrangements were so well done! They made a difficult thing seem very simple and seamless. Her shows are usually amazing but this one was something very special!

  • One of the best concerts I have ever attended

    by H. P. on 2/26/19The Rose - PasadenaRating: 5 out of 5

Keiko was truly magnificent! Her virtuosity displayed a great range of both power, subtlety and finesse. She truly seemed to be enjoying the crowd and her fellow band members. It was one of those magical nights when all seemed to come together with great flow and inspiration. Keiko did a wonderful job of blending many of her older favorites as well as showcasing her new album "Echo". I have seen Keiko numerous times in Florida (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Largo Cultural Center, Melbourne Civic Center, etc.) and felt truly blessed to have been in California and able to attend her performance at The Rose in Pasadena.

  • Hell Of a performance.

She is one of my favorite musicians ever, she never does disappoints. She was born to play the piano, I simply love her music, great show and venue. The Angels blessed us with such a wonderful musician.

  • Keiko

by J. H. on 2/18/19Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Keiko and her group were excellent!! The perfect concert for Valentines Day!! She was very gracious and she was even better than the first two times I’ve seen her, if that’s possible. I loved the show!

  • Stellar music, hyper-talented musicians, intimate venue

by PV Jim on 2/17/19Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Keiko does her unique thing with the music, a number of great pieces from her new album (is it really soft jazz or is it ....?). Drummer is truly "one" with the percussives, guitarist is able and creative (a little stiff with the blues piece) and the bass guitar is "uit het zicht." A great Valentines treat for my wife and I.

  • Amazing show....

by MRNICK on 2/17/19Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Intimate venue. Keiko Matsui is as talented as anyone you will ever see in person. Her backup band was top shelf. She played several songs from her new album which were awesome. She is a must see... buy the CD you will not be disappointed.

  • Mixed Feelings

by b. l. on 2/17/19Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 3 out of 5

The music was excellent and Keiko is a brilliant pianist. However the length of the show was only 1 hour and 10 minutes several minutes of which included her introducing virtually every song. Very disappointed that the concert was so short. If she had played just shy of 2 hours which is normal I would have given the show 5 stars

  • Wow

by Jazzy Joy on 2/17/19Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Had great seats near the front and we were able to see this amazing piano genius at work! Her hands were mesmerizing and magical!! Loved every minute of the concert and wished it was longer!

Another great performance by Keiko. Have been following Keiko for over 15 years. Seen her in concerts and Dave Koz cruises. We love Keiko! What a nice way to spend Valentines Day.

  • Fantastic

Very intimate show. Keiko is a very talented and beautiful pianist. The band was in sync with her and appeared to be having a good playing.

  • She and her band are fabulous

Great show and a wonderful venue .....would definitely see her again.

  • Keiko at the Birchmere

    by GFD2017 on 10/17/18Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

I love Keiko. Her fingers on the keyboard are just magical. Her new family that accompanied this show had more of a Latin flare. Nice change but felt a little short changed. I too was at Rehoboth Beach Jazz festival all weekend and left there to meet friends for the Virginia show. When she played at Santander Arena, great, great show. Waiting to see what her new album will be like. She will always be my FAV. She mentors so many up and coming, ie: Adam Hawley for example.
