English rockers Keane play a unique brand of alternative rock that highlights the piano instead of the more traditionally favored guitar. The band is made up of lead singer Tom Chaplin, drummer Richard Hughes, bassist Jesse Quin and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley. Anyone who has been to a Keane concert tends to talk about the infectious excitement coming from the stage, with a fun light show in the background to add to the atmosphere. In particular, during the tour to promote their Strangeland album, even the ballads they performed were described by ticket holders as rousing and energetic.
The band is named after a family friend who at one time cared for and inspired some of the band members, most of whom met in England at a young age. Though Keane has gone through some changes since the beginning, including the departure of guitarist and founder Dominic Scott, the band managed to find success after releasing its first album, Hopes and Fears, in 2004. Some of the album's most popular songs included "Somewhere Only We Know," "Bend and Break" and "Everybody's Changing." In 2006, Under the Iron Sea was released, bringing with it the hit songs "Is It Any Wonder?" and "Atlantic." That album was followed by Perfect Symmetry in 2008, which brought back the use of the guitar and also increased the band's reliance on synthesizers.
Strangeland was released in 2010, becoming Keane's fifth album in a row to garner the No. 1 spot on the UK Albums Chart. After The Best of Keane album was released in 2013, the members of the band announced that they would be taking a break to relax after several busy years of making music.

The concert was phenomenal. Keane has the perfect amount of "stage antics" for the venue that it was at as well (the Myth, Maplewood MN). It was an excellent concert, with the perfect kaleidoscope of old songs and new. An absolutely unforgettable event.
Words can't describe how much Keane can light up the faces of the audience. It was simply fantastic to see them perform their brilliance that is their music. Wonderful.
The energy was fantastic. The band performed with such enthusiasm and sincerity. They fed off the audience and put on a great show. Tom Chaplin really went above and beyond which was totally impressive.
My wife and I flew up from San Antonio to Chicago for the sole purpose of seeing Keane for the first time in our lives...been a fan for over 5 years! Front Row tickets were worth the price.......
This show was incredible. We drove from St Louis to Chicago because it was the closest venue. I would do it again..........................well worth the drive!!!!!!!!!!!
First off the Aragon ballroom is kind of a dreamland-fairytale ballroom. Helio sequence opened up and they were amazing but they also had this soothing music that brought th ball room to life. And then you have keane who will just blow you away because they are so good and their music also perfectly fits the Aragon ballrooms theme. It truly was an unforgetable experience and I would definately see keane again!
Keane at the Aragon was such an energetic performance. The lead singer has amazing stamina both vocally and physically. The Aragon has a big, booming, and very echoey sound, but this seemed to work just fine for Keane on that Sat. night, and they were certainly taking it all in. They kept breathlessly exclaiming that it was the best performance and experience they had had yet. The audience continually was going wild.
