About

Kayzo on Tour

The DJ/producer born Hayden Capuozzo has always felt the need for speed. As a kid, the Houston, Texas, native sought his adrenaline fix by playing hockey for his school teams. But his love of fast-paced sports planted the seed for a different sort of passion. As he explained in an interview with YourEDM.com, "Music, electronic to be more specific, was always a big part of my mental preparation for games. I like to think of my music as how I played hockey — energetic and always moving."

After hanging up the skates, Capuozzo moved to Los Angeles in 2012. The world soon got its first taste of his manic mixing style when he entered the Discovery Project, a DJ competition hosted by Insomniac (the famed party promoters behind Las Vegas' Electric Daisy Carnival). His winning mix earned him a slot at Insomniac's Escape From Wonderland festival, Capuozzo's first-ever gig as Kayzo.

Over the next couple of years, he dropped a steady stream of singles and remixes that showcased his frenetic fusion of trap, dubstep, and hardstyle. His 2014 track "Tekken" earned placement on Illinois dance-pop duo Krewella's Ministry of Sound compilation, The Future Sound of EDM.

After launching his own label and metal-inspired merch line, Doghouse, Kayzo dropped his 2017 single "Wake Up." It was a delirious onslaught of ping-ponging electronic percussion, chipmunk-style vocal samples, and accelerated beats created in collaboration with Israeli dubstep duo RIOT. The track racked up 200,000 plays in its first day on SoundCloud and has since garnered more than 18 million streams on Spotify.

The inherently aggressive nature of Kayzo's music and DJ sets — where he's been known to slip in edits of metalcore acts like Bring Me the Horizon and A Day to Remember — made him a natural choice to provide an official remix for Papa Roach's nu-metal anthem "Last Resort" in 2018. Kayzo's EDM/rock crossover campaign continued with his first full-length album, the aptly titled Overload, which crosswired his blitzkrieged beats with squealing guitars and arena-sized vocals from Micah Martin of Iowa hard-rock outfit The Zealots.

1st time experiencing Kayzo and love it...but

by Isa on 8/17/22Boat Cruise Summer Series - Boston

Kayzo was great when he was able to perform but the constant sound issues killed the mood. Either sound check wasn't done or the speakers couldn't handle that kind of output.

    Technical difficulties

by Mal on 8/9/22Boat Cruise Summer Series - Boston

70% of the show the staff were trying to fix technical errors. We had no music, making it difficult for the artists to play their sets. I feel we should be refunded a portion of the ticket cost.

    Trash sound

by Eddie on 8/9/22Boat Cruise Summer Series - Boston

This review is not a review of the performance or performers, who did the best they could in the face of the circumstances. The sound was consistently cutting out in the upper deck during both sets. Kayzo moved downstairs in order to give the people their show, but it was uncomfortably crowded, and mega hot. More time was spent attempting to fix the sound issues than actually delivering the music. Unacceptable.

    Major sound system failure

by Brianna on 8/9/22Boat Cruise Summer Series - Boston

Before we even left the dock their was issue with the sound system with the opening DJ. As the main artist came on within minutes the sound system completely blew on him. There was no back up available… he had to play in the middle part of the boat which was over 96 degrees down there… no everyone could fit and we could barley hear it. The boat came back early and many people didn’t get to listen to any music. This is my 4th boat cruise and the second one with sound issues. No refund was over

    Overwhelming and rather undirected

by Citrus on 2/15/22Big Night Live - Boston

Venue is more of a club than anything. Not great for shows like this. Rather anxious to see Excision here. It's going to be packed. I highly suggest getting a VIP table so you can at least have a little space to breathe and/or meet with friends.

by Chase on 2/8/22South Side Ballroom - Dallas

I bought tickets to Kayzo a few months ago and was super hyped to come to the show! I’ll definitely be using Ticketmaster in the future for other events.

by The Muffin Man on 11/30/21Knitting Factory Concert House - Spokane - Spokane

Its a whole different feeling when you get to be 10 feet away from an artist and what a show. Reaper and kayzo both THREW DOWN! The only thing i didnt like was the lack of bass in the venue

Took a few minutes to get in because of complications with our vaccine cards but after that everything was great. They found our tickets through photo id and the show blasted our eardrum.

    Great Show

by Zugga on 3/26/19Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

With this being Kayzo's biggest headlining I thought it was killer and shows he deserves to headline in larger venues now. The set had great song pacing killer drops and excellent visuals and sound. The openers were great really enjoyed 1788l My only suggestion would be that he play more of his material such as overload ,the dogs etc and not so much other artists

    Kayzo was Crayzo

by Songbyrd66 on 3/26/19Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

One of the best shows I've been to in a ling time. I had the pleasure of attending the meet and greet and meeting Kayzo and his manager John. In addition to being an amazing DJ, he was the nicest, most down to earth human. He shared his vision for the tour, his dreams for the future and expressed his gratitude to his fans. I'm still smiling.
