"Kaskade's signature sound is as unmistakable as it is beautiful; a combination of dewy female vocals, tough electronic underpinnings, and memorable melodies." -- Billboard
The New York Times may have called him the "new face of electronic dance music" in a recent profile, but Ryan Raddon, known as Kaskade, has been in the trenches of the EDM scene as an original recording artist and in-demand DJ for more than a decade. He has released seven studio albums, including his latest, Fire & Ice, scored nine Top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay Chart, created chart-topping remixes for everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, appeared at all the major summer festivals, and has performed between 150 and 200 headlining shows a year for the last 10 years, building a name for himself as an innovator of the EDM scene as we know it today, which has opened doors for the likes of Deadmau5, Tiesto, Skrillex and more. In doing so, he has helped to lay the groundwork for a titanic musical and cultural shift: a post-rock EDM revolution that has captured the imagination of a new generation of music lovers across North America.
Kaskade has been named America's No. 1 DJ by DJ Times and Pioneer DJ. In 2012, he will appear at this year's Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival festivals, for which he has special performances planned, and will hit the road in June for his biggest headlining tour ever — 70-plus North American shows in just over three months. His own live show is a jaw-dropping spectacle that finds him performing in front of an 80-foot wide, three-stories tall LED screen that blares images synched with the music while strobe lights scan the crowd. Kaskade's belief in the transformative power of dance music to uplift thousands of people at once has had a significant effect on the U.S. scene. His ground-breaking double residency in Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club (which had not even been built when he signed on) and Marquee has elevated the city's status as a premiere club-going destination on par with London, Berlin, and Ibiza, is another testament to his influence.
Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Raddon was heavily influenced by New Wave bands like The Cure, Echo and The Bunnymen, and The Smiths that ignited his love for melody and lyrics and was strongly impacted by the house music scene that developed in Chicago. Following stints spinning throughout college and in A&R at OM Records, he began working on his own music, which includes multiple singles, EPs, and remixes, as well as the albums: his most recent 2011 release Fire & Ice -- which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart, No. 3 on the Independent Albums chart, and No. 17 on the Top 200 Albums chart, while the iTunes version debuted at No. 4 on the overall album chart. The Fire disc contains ten original songs geared firmly toward the dancefloor, while on the Ice disc, Kaskade delivers the perfect down-tempo post-club experience by remixing all ten songs. Both discs showcase the musical versatility tat has characterized his work ever since he began writing his own songs. This album was preceded by It's You, It's Me (2003), In the Moment (2004), The Calm (2006), Here & Now (2006), Love Mysterious (2006), Strobelite Seduction (2008), Dynasty (2010) and Dance.Love (2010).

KASKADE WAS AWESOME! Crowd could've been better though!
Being a true underground raver from the 90's what I saw Friday night was a normal every Friday occurence at the likes of Capital City Ballroom in DC, Thursday Fever in Bmore, the quarterly Sting and the annual Bass Rush. Plus numerous raves I travelled further for. However considering the current state of our true house/techno/jungle beats- now break beats and dub step I have to say Kaskade delivered and it was well worth every penny. Happy to see "GLOW" put such an effort in reviving our underground even if its a little too much mainstream, its better then not being able to experience what music, lights, and dancing is all about. Thanks for a great show.
My ticket said that the show started at 8:00pm. Apparently other people were told the real starting time of the show which was 6:30. How the hell does that happen? My ticket said general admission which were the only tickets available for the show. I wasn't allowed on the dance floor like everyone else though. Never experienced something so poorly organized in my life. My seats were terrible and because I was given an incorrect start time I never had a chance of getting good seats to begin with. And its a damn shame because Kaskade and his openers were incredible.
This was my first concert and I have to admit this was an amazing show I'll never forget. The crowd was absolutely fun and the music was excellent. I wish they showed it again in Baltimore, because I would see the same one again.
12th planet and Kaskade were great. 1 downfall was that apparently the "fire marshall" did not allow folks on the floor, particularly when to the untrained eye there was plenty of room to move around etc. Other than that - an awesome show.
This concert was absolutely amazing and the venue was sweet!
amazing a night i'll never forget the set and lights were both first rate
Too many underage obnoxious children.. not my scene.
Got there late, thinking Kaskade wouldn't start until later, but he rocked it out like no other! Nice mix of classics and new material...it was allll good!!!
I cant believe I paid $50 to dance in stadium seating. NEWS FLASH: DC ARMORY IS A BETTER CHOICE.
I <3 everything about the music, light show and artist but when we were not allowed onto the floor level, I was VERY disappointed. I would have paid more money to have floor access....
The show was awesome! I LOVE Kaskade and he rocked it!
I liked the performance, although it felt like Kaskade was never going to play, but finally around 930 or so he did and he did really good. Had a good time other than the fact there were a bunch of rowdy young teens , and big sweaty guys trying to crowd surf. Very annoying crowd, but other than that , I had a great time, will see again, probably just a different venue.
When I heard about the Freaks of Nature tour, I must admit I was skeptical. As a die hard live music fan, I have seen thousands of shows in my day...mostly rock bands. I love Kaskade's music however so I decided to give it a shot. During the drive from Boston to Worcester, I contemplated how Ryan (Raddon, aka Kaskade) could make the music I listen to on a daily basis "fresh" for a live set. When an artist isn't a vocalist or playing an instrument how would it translate? Arrival at the DCU. The place was PACKED! The openers were good, particularly Alvin Risk who looked/sounded as if he has been mixing tracks AND pumping up crowds since birth. He has that "nerd-chic" thing going for him, he was personable..he even sang! Kaskade took the stage around ten. He played all of the faves with a twist to them. They were recognizable but, had a few interesting danceable tweaks to them that made them new again. As for Kaskade himself, he clearly FEELS every beat he creates, every word written. It would be impossible for the crowd to not to feed off of his energy. He sings along with palpable joy on his face, he addreses the crowd like it's his first time on stage and is in awe of it all. He can't stop dancing with each rise. As I posted on facebook when I got home..."Ryan Raddon killed it tonite..I'm sore, dehydrated, deaf, and I could wring out my clothes...best show I have seen all year"! Go, you will wring out your clothes too.
Show was unbelievable - danced my ass off the whole night - two days later and I still cannot walk normal!! Cannot wait to see him again - hopefully at UMF 15th!!!
I've never seen Kaskade before, but I would recommend him to anyone who loves any EDM - he put on one helluva show. Awesome visuals, with laser show (make sure to look behind you on the back wall sometimes (each song has its own pattern), tons of beach balls, confetti, smoke machines, the whole shebang. To top it off, Kaskade plays his best songs mixed together like a TRUE DJ can, layered together with perfect transitions. No wonder he was named #1 DJ by a number of magazines and polls. Of course, his excellently produced music always helps, too. See him ASAP.
The opening bands were pretty lame and the venue had pretty weird seating arrangements, but kaskade sure did live up to his expectation. I would watch him again somewhere if I get the chance in the near future.
One of the most amazing concerts I've ever been to. My expectations were high but the block party was even better than I expected!! Huge plus: the free glasses they were handing out, that made you feel like you were looking through a kaleidoscope... I wish people right next to me weren't smoking pot the whole time but other than that it was great!!!
Incredible display of sounds... Overall it was great environment , great music..
