About

"Kaskade's signature sound is as unmistakable as it is beautiful; a combination of dewy female vocals, tough electronic underpinnings, and memorable melodies." -- Billboard

The New York Times may have called him the "new face of electronic dance music" in a recent profile, but Ryan Raddon, known as Kaskade, has been in the trenches of the EDM scene as an original recording artist and in-demand DJ for more than a decade.  He has released seven studio albums, including his latest, Fire & Ice, scored nine Top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay Chart, created chart-topping remixes for everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, appeared at all the major summer festivals, and has performed between 150 and 200 headlining shows a year for the last 10 years, building a name for himself as an innovator of the EDM scene as we know it today, which has opened doors for the likes of Deadmau5, Tiesto, Skrillex and more.  In doing so, he has helped to lay the groundwork for a titanic musical and cultural shift: a post-rock EDM revolution that has captured the imagination of a new generation of music lovers across North America.

Kaskade has been named America's No. 1 DJ by DJ Times and Pioneer DJ.  In 2012, he will appear at this year's Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival festivals, for which he has special performances planned, and will hit the road in June for his biggest headlining tour ever — 70-plus North American shows in just over three months.  His own live show is a jaw-dropping spectacle that finds him performing in front of an 80-foot wide, three-stories tall LED screen that blares images synched with the music while strobe lights scan the crowd.  Kaskade's belief in the transformative power of dance music to uplift thousands of people at once has had a significant effect on the U.S. scene. His ground-breaking double residency in Las Vegas at the Encore Beach Club (which had not even been built when he signed on) and Marquee has elevated the city's status as a premiere club-going destination on par with London, Berlin, and Ibiza, is another testament to his influence.

Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, Raddon was heavily influenced by New Wave bands like The Cure, Echo and The Bunnymen, and The Smiths that ignited his love for melody and lyrics and was strongly impacted by the house music scene that developed in Chicago.   Following stints spinning throughout college and in A&R at OM Records, he began working on his own music, which includes multiple singles, EPs, and remixes, as well as the albums:  his most recent 2011 release Fire & Ice  -- which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Chart, No. 3 on the Independent Albums chart, and No. 17 on the Top 200 Albums chart, while the iTunes version debuted at No. 4 on the overall album chart.  The Fire disc contains ten original songs geared firmly toward the dancefloor, while on the Ice disc, Kaskade delivers the perfect down-tempo post-club experience by remixing all ten songs.  Both discs showcase the musical versatility tat has characterized his work ever since he began writing his own songs.  This album was preceded by It's You, It's Me (2003), In the Moment (2004), The Calm (2006), Here & Now (2006), Love Mysterious (2006), Strobelite Seduction (2008), Dynasty (2010) and Dance.Love (2010).

Great music, great energy, and overall an awesome show! Loved the end when Kaskade did a stage dive into the crowd. Stage set-up and visuals was on point.

Always a favorite! Bill Graham Civic Auditorium was awesome as well. Was front row and right before Kaskade and during his set they handed out water bottles to anyone that needed them.

Saw the start of this tour at Coachella 2012 was unbelievable. Was pretty much the same show but with a few new songs. I was stoked to learn it was the same show since I loved the Coachella performance so much, also now I know all the words to this performance so it was awesome to be able to sing along to everything. GO SEE KASKADE. If you havent experienced it, you have to atleast once.

Ive seen Kaskade 5 times since EDC 2010. and this has been by far the lamest set he's played. i was having fun and making the best of it, but Kaskade is only in it for the money now obviously. I will NEVER pay to see him again. bottomeline.

  • Kaskade Saved His Love, Just for...San Francisco

by IHSV1855 on 7/30/12Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Ryan Raddon absolutely blew the doors off the Bill Graham Civic Center. This venue was an incredible place for this show because of the acoustic walls and the energy brought by all those in attendance. Being that it was a show in Kaskade's home city, it was an emotionally complete show. Kaskade literally looked like a kid in a candy store behind the tables because he literally lives and makes money to make people overjoyed and happy on a nightly basis. I have never seen a DJ command such respect, that as soon as he grabs the microphone to speak, every single person in the audience goes silent. Dead silent. Once again, Kaskade put on an amazing show. 10/10, 5 stars, 2 thumbs up.

  • Awesome experience, excellent venue

Opening act sucked. Kaskade was amazing. Easy entry into venue. There was some dead time in between opening act and Kaskade coming on. It would have been nice to know how long the intermission would be. The event was sold out but it was still very comfortable space wise on the dance floor.

  • EPIC, but too short

I always have a special place for Kaskade in my heart. As far as a musical influence to me, numerous songs hold sentimental value. He threw down an AMAZING set of all of his top songs, the only regret/dislike was how early the event ended.

  • Wouldn't be surprised if Kaskade lost some fans...

by BasedKing on 7/30/12STAPLES Center - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

The whole experience was a giant let down... First of all it was the presales that went to Citi-Bank customers before the general public without mention that made it impossible for me to get floor tickets, forcing me into purchasing seats. Then it was the fact that the venue and him came to terms and pushed the stage 18 feet back, thus creating more floor seats, on the last minute; (reason I am mad with this decision is simply cause it totally pisses all over the people who purchased seats in the stands by hampering their view of the stage even further and pretty much comes off as "you're my fans and you were the original crowd selling out; let me make more money and be even further from you".) Then it was the Freaks of Nature show itself... Visuals were pretty great, however that Risk Alvin guy was garbage... so now its 9: 15 and I'm thinking "despite all this I am about to get a 3 hour Kaskade set, this will surely make up for everything" ... It doesn't... Every single song off Fire and Ice he ended up mutilating the drop to the song or playing remixes... It got to a point were I was looking out for a good remix he'd play as opposed to one of his own productions which I paid 200 dollars to see with my friends... So now its coming to an end... at 11: 20ish he stops. Than he has the nerve to make it look like he is giving us an encore, by getting back for 10 more minutes and playing "I Remember"... you know as if he wasn't going to play his best song and then the venue begins to kick us out... although the fliers said it was till 12:15... Not only did i get a disappointing show, it even got cut early.
