Dominating the early 90s as part of Jodeci, a North Carolina Hall of Fame band, brother Cedric "K-Ci" and Joel "Jo-Jo" Hailey carried the success into their duo venture as K-Ci & Jo-Jo. The R&B duo's vocals never fail to lull the audience with their smooth, romantic tunes or have them swaying side to side to their sultry vocals. Tickets to a K-Ci & Jo-Jo concert will show fans that some things do get better with age; the duo doesn't fail to deliver when it comes to their strong vocals. September 2013 saw the release of their fifth and latest album My Brother's Keeper. which peaked at No. 20 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, K-Ci & Jo-Jo had their beginnings in the church choir but left to form Jodeci with the DeGrate brothers. Jodeci enjoyed success from 1991-1995, but the first signs of independence appeared when K-Ci recorded a cover of "If You Think You're Lonely now" for a film in 1994. In 1997, they debuted with their first album Love Always. The single "All My Life," which held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, skyrocketed K-Ci & Jo-Jo into the limelight. From there, the Hailey brothers released It's Real in 1999, X in 2000, Emotional in 2002 and My Brother's Keeper in 2013. K-Ci & Jo-Jo were awarded both the American Music Award for Favorite R&B Band/Duo/Group and the Blockbuster Award for Best Group - R&B in 1999. The No. 1 hit "All My Life" has undoubtedly become a timeless ballad whose message and depth will carry into future generations. While no tours are planned in 2014 for the talented R&B duo, fans can listen to K-Ci & Jo-Jo perform at various concert venues around the nation.
My best friend and I became closer after this concert. I was very impressed.
The concert was a great up close and personal experience. They really put on a great show and still had the crowd up out of thier seats.
I truly enjoyed myself on this past Friday night. I finally got the chance to see my favorite artists perform and it was excellent!!! I can't wait to attend another event at The Chicago Theatre.
Jagged Edge was first on the stage and one member was missing. Group song everyone else's song like R Kelly, and Usher. I wanted to hear their songs. Monica was next on the stage and she rocked it. I loved her! Last but not least was K-Ci & JoJo. K-Ci was pure entertainment and high on something. JoJo used profanity during his brief attempt at singing, K-Ci had to come to his rescue. He might has well stayed in the dressing room, because basically he was a prop on the stage. Overall I loved it and only sat down for 5 minutes.
Monica was so lazy I expected so much more . Jagged edge and kc and jojo were good . The dj left so there was moments of silence that lasted so long . Multiple people complained . I just expected more better performance. The salt and pepper 90s concert I went to last week was way better then this and I love jagged edge kc&jojo way better then the other group but big difference in performance.
Jagged Edge's performance was too short and only snippets were done. Monica was awesome but she also only did snippets. KC and Jojo were a mess. Vocals horrible. Got way too political and religious. The show started right on time.
Over all a good show. Very pleased with kc&Jojo after they let me down a few years ago when after 5 minutes on stage Jojo fell and the show was over. I've always been a jagged edge fan just curious why they would sing usher and r Kelly. Monica was great.
I really enjoyed the show. Good music. Great song memories. Very entertaining.
I must say all 3 artist was just amazing! I loved them all and if either one return I will be attending.
This was a great show. It was very laidback and I was finally able to actually see the stage at a concert (short people problems). Love these artists. I just wish JE and K-Ci and JoJo would have sang more of their songs because they have so many good ones that were not performed which was sad. However all in all, the concert was super fun and a great throwback to the 90s which is always fun to remember.
I think the show was great. The artists performed well. The stage had persons standing and walking in the background and even a guy in a wheelchair during if and up no routine. I think these are unnecessary and distracting. The dj's were great and had you excited for the next event. Also the chase lounge was great! I couldve watched the show from there, it was more comfortable then the regular seats. Also rude people stood and moved around in aisles during the entire show.
After so many years ...They not only looked good but sounded AMAZING ...everyone sound so so GOOD !!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT !!! wish it had been longer .... Brought back memories..and good times ,felt good... put a big smile on my face .
The drinks was good and all the singer's did a really really good job. Kci still got it he was the biggest surprise for me.
I really enjoyed this concert, all the acts did a wonderful job. Monica was amazing as always, she never ages and sounds fabulous!
All the acts were fantastic. I'm a fan 4 life. R&B
Monica was amazing!!!! Very real & genuine. Her voice carried. She should have been the only performer.
They really took me back to a good place in time. Performance was great.
Seats were awesome. Show was great. Can't wait to go again
Best part of concert was 112's performance. Alll the members were there. They did an excellent job dancing. Total's performance was good. Now the bad, we arrived 30 mins late to the venue & there were 2 DJs on stage playing records. Definitely thought we would have missed the opening act. So basically concert didn't start on time, not sure why. After Total's performance, there was about a 30-45 minute wait until the next performance which was supposed to be Guy. In that wait the host had audience members showcase their talent & a hula hoop contest.Definately not what I came to see! Guy didn't perform, 1 of the members was sick (which of course happens, but this wasn't announced until after this 45 minute wait.). 112 performed great! Then KC & Jojo performed & Jodeci members came out 4 a few songs. Then out of nowhere the stage crew cuts the mics off & then the lights go off. KC & Jojo didn't seem to know what was happening. Seems like Dar's staff kicked them off(my guess the concert went over their allotted time-probably because of that stupid 45 min intermission)
This show was a 90s concert part 2 and I feel as though the audience was cheated a great deal. Guy didnt show up because Aaron Hall had medical issues which is understandable and his brother came out and sung 1 song Lets Chill which was a 90s favorite. That was a plus, but once they announced Guy was not performing next was 112 and they did an amazing job. Jodeci was the last act to perform and there mics were cut off early and the lights came on and the audience was threatened to get out of the hall immediately. With Guy not performing it seems as thoug we should have gotten more from Jodeci and some of those in between wasteful acts could have been eliminated like the hoola hoop contest which Mike Brooks did. That took up some time. And if Guy was not going to be able to perform, they should have gotten a replacement act from the 90s to take there place.
