  • Blue October is the best of the best!

by Alex on 1/10/21Rating: 5 out of 5

Blue October gives an amazing performance, the whole group, OMG they are the best! I was at the last concert in Knoxville, TN the later part of 2020 at the Mill and Mine and it was a euphoric experience that I will never forget. As far as entertainment goes I had to best time of my life, Justin's voice is so beautiful he can absolutely sing anything and make it spectacular, he has the voice of an angel. I enjoy his music daily on getbackup.com, Spotify, Apple music, and/or YouTube. I love his stage it shows, ie; live shows on getbackup.com, cover songs, and all his new songs, just put out recently like Oh My My and also The Girl Who Stole My Heart to name a couple. He makes sure the show goes on even though they are not on the road right now, you got to love that right?

  • Amazing Show

We are huge Blue October fans and have attended their concert at the Revention Center in Houston Thanksgiving weekend for the past 4 years and we were disappointed they did not perform there this year. While searching to find a Blue October concert, I came across Justin performing in San Antonio and decided to give it a try. This was hands down the best show/concert/performance we have seen in a very long time. Justin is so talented and he tells his story through humor, raw emotions and song. Who knew he was so funny?! The venue was perfect for this show and Justin did not disappoint. If you love Blue October like so many of their fans do, you will absolutely love this show.

Amazing performance. Justin was so open, vulnerable, funny, and rocked his songs. One of my favorite performances ever!!! Can’t wait to see him again. Great fun and even therapeutic.

  • Amazing show by Justin

I am a huge fan of Blue October, but this was my first time to attend one of Justin Furstenfeld's Open Book tour events. I have listened to both of his Open Book albums, but that didn't prepare me for the experience of actually being there. I was blown away. Honest performer. Delightfully funny storyteller. Talented musician. Lyrical genius. Justin is all of those and more. This is quite simply one of the three best concerts I have ever attended in my life. I can't wait for his next stop in San Antonio. I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention the awesome staff at Aztec Theatre. My sister and I always go to these Blue October shows together. She was on crutches for this one. When we walked in, I asked an employee if there was an elevator. Our tickets were on the very top row of the balcony. Another lady overheard this conversation and offered to show us to some better seats so that my sister didn't have to battle the steps in the dark. We ended up on the end of the fifth row, which was perfect. It didn't cost us a dime and it saved my sister a lot of painful walking with the crutches. I did not catch this lady's name but I hope that management reads this review and understands how helpful her and the rest of the staff were at this concert. Lastly, I have been to concerts at numerous venues. I would rate the acoustics in Aztec Theatre at the top. The shows always sound amazing in there. It is my favorite place to catch a concert in San Antonio.

  • Great performance

Girlfriend has been a huge fan of Justin's for over a decade so surprising her with a meet and greet and orchestra level tickets was a must. She cried from the moment Justin hugged her to the second he left the stage. Justin had a great balance of entertaining storytelling and relative acoustic song playing. He interacted well with the audience while also keeping them tamed to retain the mood of his storytelling. Overall great experience; would recommend it even to those who aren't very familiar with the Blue October (Like myself)

Upgrading to the table seating was the best thing we could have done! Amazing center view which created a more intimate experience. Will definitely consider the upgrade for future shows. And of course Justin Furstenfeld was AMAZING as always! Such a great, humble human being. The world needs more people like him! Thank you Justin!

One of the greatest and most enjoyable shows I’ve ever seen. A moving story coupled with an acoustic Blue October set is the best possible way to spend an evening. 1000/10 would recommend you go see this show the next chance you get!!

I have been to quite a few concerts/events in my days, but nothing compares to the show Justin put on at the Cedar! The raw singing talent was amazing and what a great message he laid down as he told his story. Will not hesitate to see him again next time around!

2.5 hours of nonstop entertainment by Justin. Every moment was gripping. It was a long time to sit in hard plastic chairs though. I would definitely go again

  • Justin is amazing!

    by Mike311 on 2/5/18Cedar Cultural Center - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

So charismatic, such a natural story teller, plays acoustic guitar beautifully and has one of the strongest, most unique singing voices out there. Really enjoyed him opening himself up like he does and layering it with such great, meaningful songs, will never miss him or his band when they come to town.

  • Justin never disappoints!

  • Justin Furstenfeld was amazing as usual!

by Deven4 on 1/30/18Port City Music Hall - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

Justin Furstenfeld put on an amazing show! I have followed Blue October for 15 years, so to be able to be there and hear Justin tell his "story" and journey through words and music, was incredible! You could feel his emotions as he was sharing with us. I have never gotten emotional at a show as I did at this one. He was sure to put humor in it as well, which brought out lots of laughter from the crowd. He sounded amazing and the setting venue helped carry his voice so we all could hear. We could only find seats near the back, and even though we couldn't really see him, we could still hear him...even when he wasn't at the microphone. The hard metal chairs made it difficult to be comfortable and three days later, my back is still hurting from them but Justin made it all worth it.
