    Louis and guests were amazing!

by swemoneuy on 6/25/11The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Louis C.K. was, as always, fantastic with a mostly all new set. The 3 "very special guests" were a GREAT surprise with Jake Johannsen, Richard Lewis and Stephen Wright. The entire show was funny from start to finish. Can't wait to see some of these guys again!

I would not go to this event again and would not recommend it. After seeing Louis on the Tonight Show, his performance was disappointing and not what I anticipated. I see nothing funny in constant verbal obscenities and gestures. I did not laugh once and frankly could not understand what people around me found so amusing. I'm sorry I spent my money on this show and never will again. There are a lot of other classier events in this town, and those are what I will consider in the future.

    Laughed until it hurt

by darthanul on 6/24/11The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I missed the begining of the show due to lack of bartenders serving drinks before the begining of the show, but that was the only issue I had with the show/venue. I was surprise to see the two big screens on each side of the stage, I am sure that there was no bad seats for this event. Each performer had their own unique approach and style. By the time the third performer went on stage, it hurt to laugh. I made it a point that if the Just for Laughs festival comes annually to Chicago, I will be there (this was the second year I attended the festival). I cant wait for next years line up. BTW, the crowd was awesome, never took offense to the jokes even if the joke was on them...

Joel McHale & Friends was a RIOT

by sugarsammyrocks on 6/22/11The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Very funny comedians on stage all night. Not many household names but I honestly enjoyed these guys more than Joel. Don't get me wrong, Joel McHale was hysterical but the other comedians made the night what it was. Will most definitely be a repeat attendee!!

Joel Mchale, save the money, watch the soup

by SMCBelle on 6/22/11Chicago Theatre - Chicago

If you were looking forward to watching the soup live, then this is perfect for you. Joel Mchale and Friends consisted of him mcing the event for his friends. Two of his six friends were GREAT!!! The others were decent at best. Joel had a few good jokes towards the end, but I wouldn't see it again. I watched the Soup the next day only to realize that almost ALL of Joel's jokes were the same as recorded for the show.

    Russell Peters brought his A-Game

by EdgewaterResident on 6/22/11Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Overall all three performances were really good. However, was shocked to see Russell Peters as the closer, he had the longest stand-up time and overall best best performance. Don't get me wrong, George Lopez did his thing but his routine was shorter than expected. I feel bad for his ex-wife, he has some GREAT material on her.

    Tears in my eyes!!!

by GQTChiTown on 6/22/11Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

It was awesome from the opening act up to the headliner. And I was surprised to see Russell Peters as the headliner. I thought it would be George Lopez! At any rate, I was guffawing like a cowboy and I'm a lady! 8-) Worth every penny! I'm there if this tandem comes back next year! The crowd was wonderful too --- we went to see Steve Martin/Martin Short the following night and I felt cheated from that show! I wish I'd spent my money on a 2-nights in row event with George Lopez and Russell Peters! I wouldn't've minded a repeat! 8-)

Louis CK & 3 Very Special Guests was amazing!

by NPN13 on 6/22/11The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I was excited to see Louis CK since he is my favorite comedian. The very special guests were just icing on the cake. I was excited to see Jake Johansen and then Richard Lewis came out. I could not believe he was there! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, Steven Wright walked on stage. Everyone stood up and was cheering like crazy. It was so much fun! The best part was that Louis was not just the emcee, but also performed at least an hour of his own material. One of the best nights ever!

    Louie CK is hilarious

by andermoney on 6/22/11The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Richard Lewis's act was more than a little tired. His jokes were all centered around the absurdly neurotic lifestyle that he is clearly so accustomed to that he's lost all touch with reality. I feel like he's trying to get by with the same act that he's always done despite the insane amount that stand up has changed in the last 20 or 30 years. It was a very pleasant surprise to see Stephen Wright, however - someone who I always thought was a comic genius who definitely still has the ability to turn out new material in his unique style. Louie CK also continued to deliver his particular brand of humor with some great new jokes that fit very well into his repertoire.

    Lopez and Peters

by CjGueris on 6/22/11Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Opening act was laughable. Didn't bore us and started the ball rolling. Then Lopez came out sooner than I thought, but gave a GREAT show! Not one moment was dull, no lie! He introduced Peters and I was sad to see Lopez go :( but prepared myself for Peters. I thought there would be an intermission or something. Peters was slower than George. I liked his jokes, he had some good story telling skills. :) Overall my friend and I loved it and would definitely go again!!!

    Louis is amazing

by anonomusvsca on 6/22/11The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I had never seen Louis C.K. before, but his albums, specials and TV shows have always left me in stitches. I didn't have high expectations after seeing a show on Wednesday that fell well short, and I ended up being very happy with it. Although I didn't really know two of his special guests (I can't remember their names) it was still a great time. I was really happy to have been able to see Richard Lewis, I love him from Curb. But Louis really is a great comedian, probably my new favorite.

Louis CK Brings on Serious Competition

by BeanisBeanBeanicio on 6/21/11The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Louis CK kept up the laughs as always and allowed some excellent comedians to steal his spotlight: Jake Johannsen had some great comedy about zombies vs. terrorists; Richard Lewis is always welcome; and Steven Wright came prepared with awesome one-liners.
