About

Joshua Radin grew up listening to classic Motown hits of the ‘60s, The Beatles, Paul Simon, James Taylor and Cat Stevens, influences which were to play a big part in his future career. He studied art at Northwestern University before moving to New York, buying a guitar and teaching himself how to play it and write songs.

His big break come in 2004 when he presented a copy of his very first song “Winter” to a TV producer by the name of Zach Braff with whom he eventually became close friends. He was so impressed he used it as a soundtrack on a scene in the comedy TV series Scrubs in 2004. After this exposure, demand grew for his work and soon his compositions were featuring in hit TV shows such as Brothers and Sisters, Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill and American Idol. In total he has written more than 75 songs which have been featured on TV.

He relocated to Los Angeles, signed with Columbia Records and released his first album We Were Here in 2006. It was received enthusiastically by fans and music critics alike receiving a four-star Rolling Stone review and achieving No. 1 position on iTunes Folk Album Chart. His second album Simple Times was released in 2008 under the Mom & Pop label and reached No. 34 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. His most successful single from the album “I'd Rather Be With You” reached No. 2 on the Billboard Digital Songs chart. He released his third album The Rock and The Tide in October 2010 and achieved similar levels of chart and critical success, with it reaching No. 5 on the Billboard Independent Chart. His most recent album Underwater was released in 2012.

Radin has played with many musical greats both during his extensive touring career as well as on his popular albums. Guest performers have included Sheryl Crow, Tori Amos, Gary Jules, Belmont Tench, Jim Keltner, Johnny Flagher, Jason Borger, Victor Indrizzo, Lenny Castro, Maria Taylor and Patty Griffin among others. He has also written soundtracks for hit movies including The Nanny Diaries, Catch and Release, Dakota Sky and The Last Kiss. He is in demand for personal appearances on TV shows and, most famously, after appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was asked to perform at her wedding.

  • Disappointed

    by 4toCome on 11/6/19The Wilbur - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Given how this show was marketed, it said "Featuring Joshua Radin and the Weepies" and had a large picture of Joshua Radin, we assumed he was the headliner. Therefore, we showed up around 8:15 when the show started at 7pm, assuming he would go on around then. We missed Joshua Radin almost entirely. It was not clear the Weepies were the headliners and we had no interest in them. Therefore, we paid for the tickets and didn't even see the show, we were highly disappointed. I believe the title and marketing should have been laid out differently.

  • Great show

by MiddleHouseRight on 11/5/19Saint Andrews Hall - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Each artist had a wonderful stage presence and made us feel at home in the crowd. Lily’s voice dazzled and amazed us. The Weepies were everything I wanted and more (LED shoes snd belt!!). Joshua was on point. All instrumentalists did fantastic jobs. Thanks all!

Josh was great. Weepies and overall sound was off.

  • Great intimate event.

by Tara on 10/29/19Saint Andrews Hall - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

Concert was great. Venue was a little tricky. I was glad to have splurged for platinum seating. Joshua has the most incredible voice, and we were mesmerized. I think we were all bummed that there was no encore.

  • Wow 🤩

What an amazing concert and the new talent is amazing!

  • Weepies - easy on the ears

by Rudy on 10/26/19Barrymore Theatre - MadisonRating: 4 out of 5

My wife and I really enjoyed the Weepies performance. We are probably older than the average fan being in our mid sixties but found the lyrics and note writing very enjoyable. We probably would have enjoyed Joshua Radin more but he played a little late for us.

  • Pantages Show

by Bayfront on 10/25/19Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

I only went to see the opening act : Lily Kershaw. I had no idea who Joshua Radin was - so I didn't stay for his/their portion of the show. the sound at the Pantages was very good - but I was saddened to see that Lily was only allowed to sing 5-6 songs - and was done-and-gone in less than 1/2-hour. I thought that she was wonderful, though !!

  • Amazing!!

    by N. J. on 10/25/19Pantages Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This was such a great concert. Acoustics were wonderful and the venue was great. All three performers were amazing. I’ve never been disappointed by a Joshua Radin concert

  • Just Amazing

    by ShayD81 on 10/17/19The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

This acoustic show showcased the amazing voices of all the artists. Such an amazing show and so worth the wait to finally see both Joshua Radin & Lily Kershaw.

  • Joshua and friends were great!

by Eileen on 3/5/19Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

All three performers were very personable and seemed to be enjoying themselves. This was evident in the music and the audience loved them. I was very pleased.

  • Amazing intimate concert

    by Jessica L on 3/5/19Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Joshua Radin several times and this was one of the best. He was so entertaining and lovely. I loved that Lissie was co-headlining as well. The Neptune is a great intimate venue and I will definitely go to more concerts there.

  • Wonderful show

by A. on 2/14/19The Cave - Big Bear LakeRating: 5 out of 5

Joshua Radin is a true artist. He sang beautifully, interspersed with charming stories and interesting antidotes. It was a very intimate performance that I would love to see again.

  • Unreal show

by RachaelWasAwesome on 9/14/17Paradise Rock Club - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Show was awesome. Rachael was her funny self, and played old and new songs. Joshua was the best I've seen him (after seeing him 3 or 4 times). Paradise is one of my favorite venues. It was perfect for this show.

  • transporting

    by greatshowandthensome on 8/6/17Sixth & I - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

It was such a fantastic time. It was personal, it was fun, it was an experience. The venue was really incredible. Even though the amplification was right on, it almost didn't need any because the acoustics were designed long before amplification was required. I just loved the experience. To top it off, each was not only fantastic but all were so nice.

  • Nobody like Joshua Radin!!

by cm1978 on 7/30/17Fine Line Music Cafe - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a huge Joshua Radin fan for a number of years, and he was wonderful once again. I also enjoyed meeting Rachael Yamagata and Brandon Jenner on this tour. What talent! I just wish Joshua had sung a couple more of his new songs from The Fall album. I also loved the meet and greet, and the intimate setting. The only thing I didn't like was that this was a standing-only show on the main floor. It's much better when it's a seated show.

  • by Anonymous on 7/25/17Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! Loved getting to hear Brandon Jenner for the first time and will be following him more closely!

  • Joshua Radin was amazing

by LisaAnnH on 7/25/17Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The Joshua Radin/Rachael Yamagata concert we attended on July 22 was one of the best concerts I've been to. It was a very intimate venue and the music was outstanding.

  • by Jsmooth124 on 7/21/17The Belasco Theater - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

The music was great. Starting the show late and having to wait 20+ minutes in between sets, not so much.

  • Acoustic guitar at it's finest!

by QueenIris on 7/15/17House of Blues Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I've adored Joshua Radin's music for years, I was so excited to finally get to see him live. I was blown away by all 3 artists. Rachel and Brandon were amazing too! I looked around at the rest of the audience - almost everyone was standing there mouths agape, even when they knew the words! If you love singer/songwriter acoustic guitar, this is show is everything you could hope for and the price for tickets was a steal!

  • Always a pleasure...

by Bxsteph on 12/3/16Irving Plaza - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Joshua Radin...never fails to put on one heck of a show. Good Old War was a nice addition to open up but that main event...nothing tops that. Thank you for a night for the books...
