Best show I have ever seen! Josh and his band were in top form and the size of the venue made everything very intimate.

  • Never Enough Josh Ritter

by GReid on 7/1/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

Despite his multiple encores and endless gratitude, fans couldn't get enough. I have been a fan for years and have seen him a half dozen times now, and yet this show was still special. He's an amazing performer and an even more impressive songwriter. Wonder Ballroom was a great venue for his (and his incredible band's) sound and a venue he felt comfortable playing in. It was a great night overall.

Top 5 show ever. Joan Baez came out to sing. Unreal.

Josh Ritter always puts on the most amazing live shows. This one did not disappoint, esp when he brought Joan Baez on stage to sing a duet.

  • Crazy fun!

Drove up from Hollywood after seeing Josh and the band the previous night. Was not disappointed to see them a second time, especially since Joan Baez was there to duet with Josh and read some Edgar Allen Poe! Josh Ritter and the Royal City Band are so much fun to watch, check them out for yourselves!

  • My favorite band.

Loved the Carolina Chocolate Drops! Such a talented group. Josh and the band sounded amazing. Great mix of old and new songs, and a charming encore!

  • Josh Ritter is Terrific

by cbertaray on 6/29/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

From the first song to the last, Josh and band were fantastic. There was a nice mix of songs from past albums and the newest one. He was a joy to watch preform. His energy and smile lit up the room. The audience sang along on most songs which is a tribute to how much his music is listened to and loved! Never miss a Josh Ritter concert!

  • Josh Ritter - foot stomping goodness

by Anonymous on 6/29/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Another rolicking show with Josh Ritter. Excellent work, guy. Never do I see as much genuine enthusiasm in a preformer as I do when I see Ritter on stage. Beautiful tunes, and lyrics that really precipitate life. Good stuff, go see it, you will not be disappointed.

  • better and better

by WAPJP on 6/28/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Josh Ritter and his band many times over the years and in quite a number of states and venues. I am an old girl and had to stand for this entire concert as I did not get a seat. My knees are killing me but the show was worth it! The band performed a collection of songs from ALL of his albums with a fantastic mix of high energy "rock and roll with a lot of words" and a solo acoustic segment that thrilled us all. His rendition of Moon River and The Boss' The River were sung from the heart. After this show I have been unable to listen to any music at all, as I am still enjoying last night's show in my mind. On a selfish personal note: Josh has grown so in popularity that the opportunity for the one to one meets seem to be no longer a possibility. I will miss his hugs

  • Outstanding and Unforgettable!

Josh Ritter is the most joyful performer I have ever seen. It is impossible not to smile throughout his concerts. Not to mention his music is wonderful. I go to see him every chance i get. His band is phenomenal as well - and Josh is so gracious and thankful for his fans and his band members. Everyone should see Josh at least once - and trust me, you'll want to again.

  • Absolutely Incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by gmcr on 6/28/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

We saw Josh Ritter at the Showbox in Seattle on 6/27 and it was hands down one of the best concerts we've ever gone to in our lives. We've seen him several times, this was the last night of this particular tour and his energy was nothing short of phenomenal!!!!!!! The level of audience involvement was unsurpassed - Josh and the Royal City Band are true crowd-pleasers from the opening song through the second encore. Josh continues to write incredible lyrics, the whole ensemble looked very sharp and they gave ticket holders their money's worth with almost three hours of continuous music and no breaks. If you ever have the opportunity, GO SEE JOSH, you will be so glad you did!

  • Awesome Night!

by rjs73 on 6/28/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I was already a huge fan of Josh's and didn't think I could like him any more than I already did. I was wrong. I'm a fan of Josh's earlier work - the slower, ballady stories. The newer more rock inspired tunes weren't my favorites. That all changed last night. The energy and performance live was amazing! Josh can rock! This guy truly LOVES what he's doing and it's evident the moment he takes the stage. Beyond just great tunes, his true strength is in the lyrics. His lyrics have depth and meaning and he's an amazing story teller. Amazing night!

  • Ritter is infectious, brilliant!

by DarcyATX on 6/28/10Showbox at the Market - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Josh Ritter live serves as a reminder of the old art of showmanship. Ritter plays with a wide, delighted grin and his audience interaction is outstanding. Josh's CDs capture the magic of his music but even casual fans owe it to themselves to see him live. This was my third time and I hope I don't have to wait three years before getting the chance again.

  • Josh Ritter rocks Seattle!

I bought tickets knowing little about Ritter and he exceeded expectations! The Showbox at the Market is a great venue.

  • Absolutely amazing

    by 14greentrees on 6/27/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Josh Ritter in concert, and he did not disappoint! As soon as he came out he had a huge smile, and he kept it on the whole time! He seems to REALLY love what he does, and that's super awesome. And it works out well because he's also super good at what he does! The Royal City Band was incredible! I loved how they were all in formalish attire. And how could you not love the mustachioed bass player? I mean, really. I took two of my friends who had never heard Josh Ritter before and they absolutely loved the show --one said it was the best show she'd been to in a really long time-- and they look forward to hearing more.

Josh had wonderful energy and played an amazing show!!!

  • Complete show with true audience connection

    by Leebob73 on 6/26/10The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Very special concert that was a great event from start to finish. Opening act of the Carolina Choclate Drops and their traditional but lively folk was a fantastic pairing with Josh Ritter's modernized folk stylings. When Josh Ritter took the stage you could tell he was excited for this performance and the band never had a weak moment. Plenty of audience interaction and special moments. Joan Baez was a surprise appearance and just seemed to punctuate the fact that Josh Ritter at the fillmore was fated to be a great show. Nicey poster souvenir from the sold out show -nice tradition.

  • Josh is a brilliant star!

    by twilightglow13 on 6/26/10The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Josh has an incredible ability to play his songs with the utmost exuberance. His face is plastered with a cherubic/cheshire grin and he howls with the joy of music. His band is spot on, following his every step, amping up the musicality whenever possible. This show in particular was fantastic. The venue of the Fillmore was the perfect size: intimate yet expansive and Josh filled every corner with his lovely voice and stage presence.

  • by Anonymous on 6/26/10Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Great show- the band had great chemistry. Josh has this infectious smile that makes him so fun to watch. They did a great mix of upbeat and slower songs, and not only from the new album. Super fun evening!

  • Amazing.

Josh Ritter is just incredible. His music is amazing, the band sounds fantastic, and he has the best smile in the world! You can't help grinning along with him throughout the show! Anyone who has a chance to see him play anywhere, anytime, should not miss it!!!
