  • The talent of all ages was superb!

by Hilliardbuckeye on 3/14/11Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I loved this rendition of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The upbeat modern twist on some of the songs was great and really engaged the cast and audience. The children's chorus was wonderful and full of life. Kudos to the narrator and Joseph, Their voices were distinct, strong and understandable. Great job to all. I loved it and this was my fourth time seeing this play in a variety of venues. Central Ohio has wonderful, amazing talent.

The entire production was absolutely great. The singing was superb and the background music did not drown out the performers at any time.

What a fun show - you could tell the cast was having a great time - and so was the audience. Well done!

  • Joseph production was amazing

Not having been to any Pleasure Guild productions before my wife and I were not sure what to expect. Would the production be charming in a very amateurish way, or would it really be up to Broadway standards? I am delighted to say that this production of Joseph surpassed all our expectations - the vocal talent of the cast, the choreography, the costumes and set were all extremely good and we loved every minute. We will be back next year with our 6 year old daughter, for what will surely become a family tradition.

A fantastic cast, wonderful singing, and best of all it was for a very important cause. I enjoyed every moment and went back for the Sunday matinee.

We thoroughly enjoyed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The singing was wonderful. The Narrator and Joseph both did outstanding jobs and Joseph's brothers were a hoot.

  • Great show

by keguse on 3/14/11Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

For an all volunteer show, it was a very professional performance. The key roles of Joseph and the narrator did a great job. The supporting cast was very good. Elvis/Pharoh was a little weak. My only concern was the wives of Jacob's sons wearing hijab for most of the play. I believe that this is only worn by Muslim women. Jewish women only wear a head covering and, perhaps, a shawl. The wearing of face coverings was discordant. Altogether a great show. Worth seeing.

The entire show was awesome. The orchestra was great, the music and songs were fantastic. Very professionally done,. I knew from the opening song that this was going to be an unforgettable play. If i could have seen it again on Saturday or Sunday, I would have!!!! The entire cast seemed to enjoy performing and it showed. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

We have seen the show numerous times before but were surprised how amazing the actors were in this local production. We can't wait for next year Pleasure Guild production.

  • Joseph was inspiring.

This was a very high energy show with a very talented cast? Joseph's voice was to die for. The narrator has a very clear and pure voice. This show was another great production to help support The Nationwide Children's Hospice and Pallative care services. The show was so good, we went back for two more shows. Thank you to the Pleasure Guild for putting on such great shows with a terrific emsemble of actor's.

This was an incredible show! I have seen it a few other times and it was one of the best!! The narrator had a beautiful voice, however, her outfits were a little "hip" for the musical.

  • Left half-way through

by Christabella on 4/25/10Bridges Auditorium - ClaremontRating: 1 out of 5

I left at intermission because it was disappointing and decided I would rather sit outside in the park. I wasn't aware it was a performance by children when I bought the tickets, but I thought it might still be good. However, the children did not actually "perform" but did "lipsynching" and the adults were mediocre. No power or impact. The impression I got was that this was a money-making scheme to cater to parents who want their children to be in some kind of play. I had no children in this performance and had brought my friend, for whom this was his first musical, so it was a waste of money for me and left a bad impression with my friend re: musicals. If this is supposed to be a children's performance, then let children be the stars. They are quite capable of being great performers, rather than simply props for the adults. The good points were that the transitions between songs were swift and the story carried it's own.
