We laughed, we bopped, we sang along. It was a wonderful night. He’s still got it!
As always, Jonathan and Tommy absolutely brought the hose down.
I was very pleased with the venue. I had never been to Delmar Hall and the show was GA. No problem, we had great seats! This is the 3rd time I've got to see Jonathan Richman. The first was the late 80's, as 3 piece or 4 piece band, I can't remember. This show was outstanding and I dare say better than the first. I love that he did Pablo Picasso (revisited).
Well, this was actually my very first time seeing Jonathan Richman live. I went with my husband. We got to The WEC just before 8pm. The concert started promptly at 8pm, & was completely OVER by 9:15pm. What?!? And it cost us $89 CND for 2 tickets. I guess that’s cheap by today’s standards - but could he have not played for maybe 15 or 20 min more? Was kind of stunned. Other than that, his concert was quite delightful. However - please set out a few more chairs? I was at my retail job that day & really needed to sit. Despite these 2 things - Jonathan Richman (as well as his drummer) were both awesome.
Tommy and Jonathan Richman’s performances are probably the most wonderful and memorable I’ve attended in all my years of show-going. I bright roses (listen to The Rose by Jonathan Richman) and threw them when he’d finished his encore because he deserves it more than anyone — you’ll be glad if you do the same because it shows all over his face how much it means to him and last night he even played another encore just because “the stage looks so pretty now” ☺️

Jonathan is an entertainer and man, did he have us dancing, laughing and singing along. Thank you for making me happy to leave my house JR!
Its been years since I've been to the Somerville Theatre what a great venue ! Jonathan Richman was really entertaining! he and his drummer (2 piece band) did a wonderful job of filling the space with hysterical lyrics and solid grooves.
I felt like I was the only one in the audience not in on a joke. This man has little talent, uninteresting lyrics, and a coy style that quickly becomes irritating and hard to watch. But the crowd loved it, sang along, and was all in. Guess it’s me
