Jonathan McReynolds on Tour
After his latest album Make Room debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel chart, racked up 1.3 million streams in its first week of release and received a Grammy nod for the Best Gospel Album of 2018, there was only one thing for Jonathan McReynolds to do: take his show on the road. But the Make More Room tour is about more than the powerful, uplifting, R&B-flavored worship music that's earned McReynolds legions of devoted fans and admirers, including luminaries like India.Irie, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber. It's a chance for McReynolds to bring his ministry across the United States. Even with his heaps of musical accolades — along with the Grammy nod, he's also scored two Billboard No. 1 albums and one Billboard No. 1 song — McReynolds is dedicated to spreading the word of Christ far and wide via every possible channel. On YouTube, his Bible-teaching videos regularly rack up tens of thousands of views, and he published his first book, titled Make Room: Finding Where Faith Fits, in November of 2018, a volume filled with personal observations, spiritual lessons and scripture-based advice gleaned from a lifetime in the church. Whether by the written word, recorded music or his personal preference, live and in-person, McReynolds lives to spread the teachings of Christ to audiences thirsty for divine intervention.
McReynolds was basically born into the church. He grew up the son of a single mother on the South Side of Chicago, and began playing drums and organ and singing in the youth choir at a young age. Along with the influence of gospel greats like Kim Burrell, Smokie Norful and Israel Houghton, he looked up to secular superstars like Stevie Wonder, John Mayer and Paul McCartney. He released his first album, called Life Music, in 2012, when he was 23 years old, and since then has seen his career skyrocket. His live performances typically find him center stage, sharing the spotlight with only his golden singing voice, his righteous word and an acoustic guitar — a mesmerising, uplifting experience that will fill your soul.

Jonathan McReynolds is a brilliant artist. He show mastery of the art through the display of his vocal skill set as well as his versatility of the instruments mainly the keyboard and the guitar. He was strategic in his song choice to ensure that each song too the energy in the room to a higher level. The build up of both energy and anticipation was so high in the room that when he ended with “Your World”, we were about to explode!! Jonathan has a gift that has truly been touched by God. I encourage everyone to go see him when he comes to a city near you! (This review focuses solely on Jonathan McReynolds and does not include local artists or promoters lack of time management)
Jonathan is a brilliant artist! Each song was executed with precision and perfection. He displayed his mastery of the art not only through his immaculate vocal skill set but also through his versatility on the instruments mainly the keyboard and the guitar. He was strategic in his song choice to ensure that the energy in the room gradually moves to higher levels throughout the entire of the concert. This is the best concert I’ve ever attended. From start to finish the entire performance was rated A1 for me
I was very disappointed in this concert. My sister and her son went to see Jonathan in Charlotte, NC on April 16, 2023. The concert started at 7:00 PM and end little after 9 PM. This concert finally start arond 7:50 PM. They did not let us in the auditorium until 6:50 PM which meant we had to stand outside in the lobby for almost an hour. That's ridiculous. They had too many local artist peforming. I paid $150 for my ticket and drove 3 hrs from Columbia, SC. Needless to say I didn't arrive back at my house until 2:30 AM and I had to be to work at 7:30 AM. Now, Anothony Brown, DOE and Jonathan McReynolds performance was great. However, dispite the concert starting late, the MC Zebulon Ellis with his sunglasses on the whole time, the two local groups, Big Mike from Blind Side singing, the lady who was talking about Compassion, the lady who had to introduce DOE, the main headliners were good. It would have been a Perfect Concert without those who I just mention and had they started on time. I believe this was very disrepected to the audience who paid for this concert with there hard earned money. And to top it off we weren't given a reason for the late start. Mr. Ellis just made a joke out of it. That just wasn't right. I hope the rest of the tour doesn't go like the one in Savannah, GA. Very Disappointed.
First I want to say Jonathan McReynolds is an amazing artist. And I also block the poor quality of the event was not due to him, but the organizers. Concert started late and they was still trying to do sound check when we arrived. The sound check in my opinion was incomplete due the not truly being able to hear the artist voices. The backdrop screen was flickering a some of the monitors where not functioning. Also the event was suppose to just be Jonathon and two other artist. But for the fist 2 hours was nothing but filler, they had a choice choir, and some other random performers I believe was to fill stall so that they could complete setup. Concert was to start at 7. The fist even artist didn’t come to 9 at which that is when the even started.
When I say he puts on a great show. He puts on a GREAT SHOW. And his voice... #ChefsKiss
Jonathan McReynolds and his team delivered a truly class act and soul stirring performance. The show had something for all genres in the gospel from old school to new school. This pleased all age ranges in the audience. I was a little disappointed because I missed the meet and greet and the ability to get my photo taken with Mr. Mc Reynolds by 5 minutes. I felt so bad before the show. Well, to show the skillfulness of his team, and the professionalism, I would like to recognize Walter, on Mr. McReynolds team for consoling me and making the wrong right. He truly left a good taste in my mouth regarding the artist indefinitely! Kudos to not only a great artist but for his amazing team behind the scenes. Class Act for sure!
This was one of the best concerts I've attended. It was annointed from the beginning to the end!🔥🔥🙌🏽🙌🏽🔥🔥
This by far has been one of the best concerts I've been to. Jonathan has raw talent, and he is in a lane of his own. I had to take my shoes off for this one!
