Everything in Acclaimed Singer, Songwriter, & Pianist Jon McLaughlin's life makes its way into his music, whether he's conscious of it or not. The artist, raised in Indiana and based in Nashville, brings all of his experiences and beliefs into each song he creates, something that is especially true now that he's the father of two young girls.
Jon released his debut album, 'Indiana', in 2007, attracting fans with his heartfelt, hook-laden songwriting and impassioned delivery. He's released six full-lengths in the years since and revealed a true evolution in both his piano playing and singing. He's played shows with Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson and Adele, collaborated with longtime friend Sara Bareilles, co-written with Demi Lovato and even performed at the Academy Awards in 2008.
Jon's album, 'Like Us', dropped in October of 2015 and he spent the past few years touring extensively before heading back into his Nashville studio to work on new music. Jon released a Christmas EP in 2017 titled 'Red & Green' with two originals and his take on a few holiday classics. In November of 2018 Jon released his album 'Angst & Grace' which features 'Still My Girl' written for his youngest daughter.
In Fall of 2019 Jon released an instrumental piano album titled 'MOOD'. This record demonstrates Jon's artistry and captivates his talent as a pianist. In May 2020 the second edition of the project was released entitled 'MOOD II'. Jon wrapped up 2020 with the release of his Christmas EP 'Christmas Time' before putting out his most recent full length album 'All The Things I Say To Myself' with immediate fan favorite songs 'A Breakup Song' & 'Outta My Head'.
As with everything he does, Jon's goal is to create connections. He wants to translate his experiences and ideas into music that reaches fans everywhere. His passion for music and playing is evident in each note he plays.
The show was absolutely amazing!!! Loved the venue!! Jon is such a talented musician!!!!
Jon McLaughlin was incredible! He is a must see live! His piano playing and song writing abilities are unmatched! Loved it!!
The Vogue theatre provided the perfect intimate location for singer Jon McLauhglin to entertain his die hard fans and create new ones. This was my first time seeing him in person and it did not disappoint. He rocked out on his keyboard and filled every performance with raw emotion. My only complaint was that I didn't hear some of my favorites of his due to his promoting his new album. But it was still an awesome show. I wish he would blow up in the music world like he deserves!!!
Loved Jon, didn't like the opening act (the last good year) so much- just didn't seem to fit with Jon's type of music.
Jon is an amazing player. He mad the concert memorable. He was very interactive with everyone. We did some problems with the tickets and they gave us new ones (not as good seats) but we moved up to seats that were not filled. I would love to go to another one of his shows.
Great Show, small setting- very intimate. He is extremely talented!
It was such a chill environment and Jon was just amazing. It was so chill talking with him after the concert and during the concert he was talking with us and just having fun. Such a great performer.
Fantastic concert, brilliant music and a great sense of humor. I wish him success as he deserves it. What a talent, I bought the CD's listen to him anywhere. Look forward to him being in Boston again.
Jon did a great job. He performed a few new songs and a couple of old songs. It was worth it and the next time he's in town I'm there.
Jon is an amazing piano player.....Not to mention singer/songwriter....You can tell he loves what he does....He mixed old in with some new.....Can't wait for him to return in the fall with his latest music and his band.
Absolutely Fantastic!!!! Great as always. I can't wait to see him again
jon mclaughlin is such an amazing performer. ive seen him 3 times now, and each show is mroe impressive then the last.
Jon McLaughlin is unbelievable and the venue was great!
Jon McLaughlin is an incredible performer--that's all there is to it. His ability to connect piano and voice while maintaining their independent dynamics and a steady groove is really impressive. You'll absolutely love seeing him live. Jon is such a genuine and talented person; you can't help but leave the show feeling a million times better.
Very personable and funny. The end turned into a meet and greet which was fantastic. The music was beautiful and he is a very talented man. I will be going to all his upcoming shows.
The whole concert was amazing! Jon is awesome (and funny!) in a live show, even without the full band. It's also really nice to see him in action, playing the piano and singing at the same time. There were a lot of new songs, but they're quite good, at least better than the songs on the OK NOW album that he came out with (and i'm glad that he played them!). He also chose most of my favorite songs, even though they're a bit old. The opening act was ....not so great, but its the main act that matters, right? In general, it was an enjoyable night and I would definitely go see him in a live concert again!! The venue was the perfect setting for Jon's concert- intimate and chill. He got to meet everyone who stayed after for autographs/pics. So nice! However, finding street parking is crazy difficult and took around 40 mins driving back and forth on Brighton.
Jon always puts on a good show and tonight was no different. Instead of playing with the full-band this show featured just Jon on piano and his guitarist Bobby Stamper, with some songs featuring only Jon. The simplicity of just piano, guitar, and vocals was great, especially for Jon's style of music. Good mix of old hits that everyone was familiar with and previews of some great new stuff. Small venue meant a great view, but the crowd could have been more lively. The set was only a little over an hour, so I wish it could have been longer. Jon stuck around after the show to meet fans, take pictures and sign autographs which was great. They also recorded the concert and let you buy the CD right after the show! $10 for the recording was a little steep considering they were just burning tracks onto blank CDs and since they did it so quickly some of the tracks skipped or got cut off, but it's still cool to be able to listen to the concert again!
He is amazing. Very talented and also has a great personality.
Although Jon is a great singer/songwriter and pianist i was expecting to see him with his band- a bit of a letdown..I wish they had advertised it as an acoustic show..I might not have left work early and rearranged my whole day to catch a train into the city.. And not for nothing if i'm gonna watch someone do an acoustic set i'd like to have the option to sit down as there were no chairs to sit at the mercury lounge..
This was the first concert event I've been to where it was a small intimate setting with the artist. Being about 20 feet away from Jon made it that much more special, and it felt great being around folks that appreciate his music as much as I do. I had a great time, he sounded amazing, and I would totally do it again.
